  1. Bump! Still no resolution from Vilayer. They're basically offering to change the offset for me one more time, "as a courtesy". In other words, if you buy the DayZ package and expect to be able to change your server's offset, you better hope it saves the offset because they're only going to change it for you manually ONCE and the timezone changer as advertised simply doesn't work at all. After that, apparently you're just screwed. I hope they're at least ethical enough to change their advertisement banners, because what they're doing is actually illegal here in the states.
  2. Small update: I've chatted briefly with Lee about it, and it seems the issue is only happening with the Arma2 DayZ Package, not the standard DayZ server instances. No word yet as to why it's still being advertised as a feature for the DayZ Package product.
  3. Please don't derail the thread. Just for the record, the high ping feature works just fine for me. I was watching it via DaRT earlier and it worked perfectly. @PersonalJ, thanks very much for the speedy reply. I did just receive a call, but didn't recognize the number so ignored it. Lee can call back if he'd like.
  4. Hey guys, I'm a bit annoyed right now with a lazy support tech, so decided to at least make sure other players are forewarned. Vilayer is advertising that they provide a Timezone Changer for the DayZ server instances, but it doesn't currently work. In a nutshell, last night I tried to use the batch file it didn't work and a support tech helped set it for me manually. He explained it was due to a bug with the latest version of ACP and their batch file. This was my first night with my new instance so I figured no problem. This evening I log in to discover that my server was on a different offset again. May have been due to a scheduled restart, but I'd hoped the offset would persist. Anyhow, I attempted to get the offset changed again and had the following exchange with a support tech. I'm still awaiting Casey's reply, yeah right... I have no others problems with Vilayer frankly, but complete lack of support on something you advertise as a feature that is broken is really bad business. tl;dr If you want the ability to change the time offset for your DayZ server instance, don't use Vilayer.

    TX20 Admins MIA

I see you on all the time man, you're definitely a TX20 regular. I'm pretty fed up with the guys running this server, they seem to be asleep at the wheel. I'm basically at a point now where I'm trying to transfer all my tents to another server, because the guys running it seem to have abandoned it. Pretty irritating really, all the time I've spent building up tents and resupply caches has basically been wasted. The sad part is, I've seen other servers that run scripted restart scripts at six hour intervals. Is it really that hard to implement something like this?

    TX20 Admins MIA

What's the deal TX20, you haven't rebooted the damn server in 5 days now. It takes like 10 minutes to even log in. Pretty pissed that I chose TX20 as my home server, since the admins NEVER tend to the server. Get it together guys, or solicit donations and let some people who are willing to do it properly run the server.

    Why this mod is failing

It's amusing how you tried to preemptively shut down anyone who might suggest you're crying, sorry to break it to you but you are. Here's an idea, create your own solution. A lot of people love this game because of the fact that it's so brutal and open-ended. You sound very much like a MMO player who doesn't understand the concept of sandbox play. "What's the point?!" the point is whatever you make it. Play on a server where your friends do, develop your own safe zones. Create your own alliances, rivalries, etc. I know you're a badass and all and have never been sniped, but personally I don't agree with your assertion that people being murderous scumbags by nature is ruining the game... it sounds like sour grapes to me.
