  1. Dogs will be the first new content since 1.6.2.4 as far as I know. Maybe I am wrong (it does happen lol). /edit- Good point smasht_AU, I had assumed it was working since he was showing it to a gaming confrence but there may be bugs.
  2. I figured once the standalone comes out then the mod would be used to test content, but if this is the case already then why not let us test the gamescom build??
  3. I gotta agree. I was so much more psyched about them before reading some of the simple ideas coming out of the reddit suggestion thread.
  4. How could we possibly replace a Cherno sniper with an AS50 after he quits? I guess we would just all have to accept that the game got a little more playable...
  5. Having no set 'rules' is what makes this game unique. I understand that most players are not used to this type of game because it is so rare in todays gaming environment but changing it would be a disaster (IMHO). The real issue is how easy duping is because it makes the best weapons in the game very common. If duping can be fixed 100% in the standalone then players would not risk losing their AS50/M107/etc. by sniping in Cherno or Electro. There would be very little reward and a ton or risk... Some players will always PvP on the coast but without backup loadouts via duping they would play more and more cautious because they know just how long it takes to replace the gear they have if they get caught off guard and killed. Comparing the DayZ Mod (even in its current form) to COD or BF3 shows a lack of understanding. PvP in dayz is a risk/reward calculation that every character must make. Is it worth possibly losing your gear to engage another player and possibly gain his equipment? Other shooters have no risk at all, when you die you just respawn with exactly what you had and try again. It's a difference of immersion.
  6. If you keep dieing to other players maybe you are overlooking the fact that PvP factors into the 'survival orientation' of the game.

    US 1124 Hackers [D2A] Group

I am not a server admin but I am a member of [D2A] and the brother of one of our admins. The event on 9/7/12 was a hacker that killed everyone on the server except himself and me (I dc'ed when he teleported to our location and killed [D2A] Membrane). We were all in the lobby talking to each other afterwards, with most of the normal players when membrane reset the server. He did this so that more perminant damage could not be done to the server (IE. hacked crates, thunderdome, hacked vehicles, teleporting legit vehicles). I am not sure what you are talking about with the 9/6/12 claims. Many of the admins have been kicked by battle eye when they try to log into the game as an admin. As far as we can tell, battle eye is kicking anyone who opens or enters something into the server console (maybe another server's admin can confirm this?). Anyway, I am sorry you had such a bad experience on our server but it is very new and we are still learning the ropes of server administrating. Also, our server owner and most experienced admin, [D2A] TRANSPORTER1 is in the armed forces and has been overseas recently so we have had to learn to fend for ourselves.
  8. Servers have a bug where sometimes on restarts they do not load any of the tents/sandbags/barbed wire/tank traps/vehicles. My advice would be to check back after the next server restart since if your tent was destroyed it would show up flattened.

    Need help, seriously.

There is a world outside cherno. I would take the opportunity to check out the NWAF or Stary Sobor...

Where are the cars and tents? US368

Thanks for the tip, I'll pass it along to our admins.

    PvE DayZ servers petition.

Is everyone ignoring the fact that you can already do this with a private hive? Announce that it is PvE only and any PvP killers will be banned after their 2nd kill. Bam, PvE DayZ server. But.... The PvE player base wants it to be official so they can then demand PvE content. This is the major problem all DayZ players should have with this proposal, the splitting of dev time between Rocket's vision of a dangerous world where everyone can do anything they want and a game that forces everyone into one coop play style.

Where are the cars and tents? US368

Our server tends to do this every-other reset so we just reset it twice and the tents/cars all come back at the correct spots and with the correct items in them. Wait until the next server reset and check your camp again.

    "Wrong CD Key"

I had this issue when I tried to launch Arma II in Steam. After reinstalling everything I realized I wasn't running steam as admin and thus the game did not have the proper permission but it only gave the error of 'invalid cd key'. Not sure if it's the same issue you are having but give it a shot.

    Hacker's ural

Sorry, I was merely trying to show how claiming hackers on something that can be easily explained by duping or server bugs diminishes the term hacker. It's kinda like the random player that gets sniped in a field out in the middle of nowhere will claim it was a hacker without proof. It just diminishes the term.

    1.7.2.6 buggy?

Good thing it's not up to you...

    Hacker's ural

I found PKM clips in a tent before. If I picked them up and put them in my car that makes me a hacker?

    1.7.2.6 buggy?

I for one hope they take the debug monitor out totally (I think rocket said they would eventually). It takes away from the survival instincts that players have when they can say, "Ok, I am at 12k blood so if I get shot with a dmr anywhere but the head I will still have 3k blood". There's nothing realistic about viewing your health as a numerical value. There is some truth to the argument that it can be tough to distinguish between 12k and say 9k blood based on color alone and they may want to add another cue like sprint time or sprint speed that decreases as blood decreases.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.6 Rolling Update

That would have happened in 1.7.2.5 too. The problems only occurred when the server reset.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.6 Rolling Update

I am curious, by 'fixed' do you mean that the saving action works correctly or do you mean they are 'fixed' as in they auto-save when an item is removed/added so they cannot be used to dupe everything on the server x100.

    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.5 Rolling Update

They are trying to fix the root cause. Barbed wire also gives artifacting during the day and has for as long as I can recall.
  21. Are you sure it wasn't an admin who wanted to loot the airfield in peace?

    Log of hack scripts

The problem is, you labeled us as 'suspicious' long before you found these legit scripts: http://i306.photobuc...bfFORUMPOST.jpg A basic understanding of how game servers are listed would have made it painfully clear that we searched your names on http://www.gametracker.com/servers/. But the lack of this knowledge led you guys to believe we were hackers/scripters/cheaters simply because we can use Google. As for finding your camps, a small group such as ours can find them effectively by communicating on teamspeak and preventing each other from re-searching an area that has already been checked. When we first showed up on your server (Madagascar) [bBF] outnumbered [D2A] about 3 to 1 so we began insurgency-style fighting. When you are outnumbered 3:1 you begin to be very cautious and stick to the woods (oh, look sir, camps) which is why we always seemed to get the drop on you. /edit- Oh, and all of our awesome equipment was gathered from your camps. Insinuating we are duping/scripting weapons when you clearly know we found and ransacked your camps is a bit disingenuous. Sincerely, A "finder"
  23. I would suggest reading up on what malicious scripts look like. Banning anyone you don't like and waiting for a busy DayZ admin to tell you that you are banning for no reason seems close to admin abuse. I know hackers are everywhere in this game but learning what to look for can also help prevent a hacker from having time to ruin everyone's DayZ experience. Proving guilt is a lot tougher when you don't know what guilty looks like.
  24. The more realistic scenario after duping and scrips are fixed is: Player C Gets in a gun battle with Players A and B. Player C manages to kill both player A and B. Player C realizes that Player A's M107 is better than his own AK-74 so he takes it. Player C then realizes that Player B's L85 is better than the extra ammo he is carrying in his backpack so he takes that too. The 2 rarest items in this battle survive despite their owners dieing. This scenario goes on several times and the rarest items do not get removed from the game. If a tent is involved then it is more likely that you would loot the tent and leave the rest of the supplies (if you don't have a storage location yourself) so that you have a potential gearing up point if you die before the owner realizes his location is compromised. I have been using this strategy for some time now (granted it will be less effective once the dupe camps are removed).
  25. Even with the duping, scripting and hacking fixed 100% we will still have this issue because the only item sink is what human players don't want or can't carry. The best items will be picked off of dead bodies 95% of the time and so the top items remain in circulation. Skins obviously do not have this problem (once duping is fixed). The only true fix as I see it is to implement an EVE style item destruction on death. This would give the killer/looter some of the loot that the killed had but not all of it. This system could be tweaked to keep rare items rare and common items common. It could also consevibly reduce KOS tendencies while increasing the natural conflict points (military spawns) since gearing through PVP would not be as predictable. On a side note I believe that heli spawns should also be controlled by the hive and not the server since a server on a 6h restart schedule will spawn in 4x as much heli loot as a server on a 24h restart schedule. Anyway, there's my 2 beans.
