Buldings and crash sites do not have to be the only loot originating points in the game. You can add random mutilated, half eaten bodies with backpacks with various loot on them. Weapons provisions medications storage, you can even generate content dynamically on approach depending on what you need most at the time be it food or medication or ammo. Could be similar to crash sites - a jackpot when you find one of those dead bodies. More variety is good.

You do realise of course that DayZ development as mod will die pretty quickly even though they claim it will still be supported. It will get half attention straight away because of it becoming 2 projects instead of 1 and then since the standalone won't be free, it will get all the focus and pretty soon. Just watch the space. It is indeed the end of the beginning which was the DayZ mod.

Nothing is more useless than double barrel shotgun where each pair of shells take 1 space! Bang bang and you are out of ammo.

It is short range weapon and lets face it it would be awesome if you could have it instead of pistol. Please make this happen.

As you said the swapping is slow, so it is a choice. I can personally put up with the speed as it is still better than having to put rifle in backpack and take the hatchet out :) Think I'm getting addicted to it, best thing that happened to DayZ since ever! -

Hahaha nyxe youre a funny guy. sixlauncher right. i use ingame multiplayer menu and so are thousands of others. you only need a few hundred people to fill UK 1 around oclock. you got butt hurt and want to know what to do about it? find another server. but since you like to bitch about admins, make it an official one. -
Ok so lets do the Math. If you have double barrel shotgun each pair of cartriges takes 1 space in your inventory - 1x2 If you have 4 pairs they would take 4 spaces. You can combine them into 1x8 round package which would take 1 space.but you cannot use it, to use it you have to split it again into pairs. Why? i have no idea what goes behind this ingenious design decision but this pretty much makes double barrlel shotgun a waste of ingame object space. You can have 4 winchester 1x15 ammo which gives you 60 rounds and takes only 4 spaces. Each round is also 1 shot kill to a zombie. Why would anyone want double barrel shotgun which require 30 yes 30!!!!! spaces to store the same amount of ammo? That is insane. Make 2 types universal shotgun ammo - slugs and pellets - green and red. Make it 2 sizes 1x8 for slugs and or 1x16 for pellets (since it has less range and damage).Now double barrel shotgun is cool to use again.

I was looking through Rocket's database structure. The tents have owner id attached to them, Well for starters the id is not even GIUD of the player but some artificial id created in the game which allows for duplicate GUID entries. Which means you as 1 player can have 30 different ids, and if you place a tent and it gets assigned 1 owner id doesn't mean tomorow it will still be your tent, because tomorow you may well have another id and the tent will become nobody's tent. Another thing is that to query the name of the owner you have to query across 3 tables. First to match id to GUID then to match GUID to name. I mean the existing database is really inefficient in many ways so don't be surprised you get desyncs and what not at peak levels. My suggestion is this: Drop the ownership of the tent. The only way user will be able to pack a tent if he removes every item from it. Empty tents can be packed and taken by anyone. It just doesn't make sense. Why cars can be driven by anyone but tents can be accessed by anyone just not taken. Without owner id you do not need to bother about tons of stuff. If a person that placed the tent died, so what. The tent would still be there like a vehicle. In fact are even in the same table as vehicles. They are also classified as objects. Remove ownership add simple rule, if(tent !=empty){can't pack it}.

I'm pretty sure Rocket has created an army of a petty crying little bitches with his rules and alienated a lot of good admins, because lets face it, with current rules if you even look at someone in the wrong way you are risking having blacklisted. One of my friends is still running official server paying a good buck for it while Rocket throws stones at him. I guess some people are ok with that. -
Chernorus is Russia, right? Well then it would only make sense if all the motorbikes are like this: 3 seater too!

Maybe the admins try to be assholes in direct response to Rocket & Co drakonian rules on official servers? Just a thought. -
Basically they spawn on the fly as you approach a place and despawn as you leave. Boring and predictable. Whats more they always annoyingly spawn in between you and the place of interest. Why not include a surprise factor? Imagine this, you walk into a house walk into a room, GRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and there is a zombie in it getting agitated at your sight and is ready to pluck your eyes out! Bet you gonna shit ya pants the first time it happens. Too much surprise? To avoid, throw an empty can and listen, if there is a zombie close it will make zombie sound in return. The good thing is you can pick the can up and reuse it! This means some of the zombies can spawn in incospicuous places and just idle instead of wondering around. There is no better danger than the one you cannot see. Thoughts?

Hacking is ruining your mod. It is not fun to lose everything you worked for in a jiff because of some teenage douchbag hacker wannabe. People are leaving this game because of this. Even my friend that was renting a server now let it go until the hacking shit is sorted. But we all know you won't be able to stop hacking. At least for now if server is password protected the admin can control who gets access thus letting only trusted people on. -

NO? There is no alternative way of defending yourself like knife or hatchet or even a piece of 3x4 so basing it on "how many have handgun in real life" is retarded. You can pick a brick and bash someone's head till it opens in real life if you don't have a gun. Someone is forgetting this is a game first. Also trying to make game more frustrating to the player is for the lack of better word - idiotic. -
