I just get a tent and load it with empty whiskey bottles. -
Well I understand the concept of making the physics such as recoil have a realistic effect, I do not see how females will physically light a fire faster or whatever. If we choose to weaken the female model we do not have to "balance" that out by giving them artificial advantages. I for one know many more males that can acquire, build and maintain shelter faster than females. (On the flipside I know many females that can outshoot males) Maybe I'm not completely understanding the base camp stuff but I say just leave things alone overall.

So after using all my flares and chelights today I logged off to come back lter when the sun rises... Its still dark. Ive been told its serveradmin preference and I'm getting really tired of logging into the dark on every server. Is there a way to tell the time before logging in? Thanks

Looking outside only works if the server admin uses local time. Every server I've logged into today has altered server time to make the game dark.

Nah. I dont want the "nameplate" option to be forced on us. I prefer servers tht show no nameplate. -

Food and fluid use continue while you are offline. So keeping food and fluids on you is a good idea. As for the bleeding I'm not sure but a bandage or two would be good to keep on you.

I agree that the server persistence at logout/DC is the best idea if its able to be coded. Many people who get asrvice interruption will be upset but there will be far fewer connection mishaps than intentional player DC's just to get out of combat. -

Agreed. As long as its the current spawn points along the coast. We dont need 2000 deathmatchers flooding the airfield all day -

In a powerless region with no infastructure how does a train work? Automated system? Players bring thousands of bags of coal a day? Bottom line is in a failing or destroyed region any "public" anything is Gone. Luxuries like mass transit are gone.

Ok I can see stats, but since skins are planed to be loot items then you lose them just like all other looted items. Unforgiving. If it were me I'd make you purchase a new copy of ARMA after every death... Mwa ha ha

Just let more people in that never heard of ARMA before. They will run round shooting everything in sight turning it into a GTA 4 style deathmatch.

Interestingly enough I have taught survivalist courses for years in multiple environments, mostly to military, and I can carry: pistol with mags rifle with mags antibiotics, pain/allergy meds knife + multitool PVS14 nightvision + batt paper maps + compass GPS + Satcomms Rangefinder + batt Entrenching tool or shovel compact Metric toolset 4 cans food 400ml fluids Radio Things like meds, matches, or a map hardly take up volume or weight but it sure maks the list look longer. I see your point but I dont see why we need artificially created limitations. I grouped with three survivors and the guy that had a toolbox carried sandbags, fencing and our food. Didnt need to do it that way but we chose to.

Rocket stated the mod is to be unforgiving and keeping stuff after death is forgiving. The nice thing about developing mods vs paid for games is that replayability doesnt mean crap. Once a player gets bored they can just stop playing, but the mod developer still gets to refine his/her original vision.

Seriously does nobody read Rocket's community address? He intentionally created this environment to NOT have the same game mechanics as other games. He called it an experiment, and even recommended mods that already mimic standard game types. The idea is that there is NO artificial game mechanics or algorithms that make us different from one another. As someone else said: If you want to be a medic then just load up on bandages and blood packs. If you want to be an engineer then go be one, find a toolbox, rebuild cars... nothing stops you from doing that now, you do not need an artificial game calculator to make you an engineer.

I've never seen a zombie "poke" animation. Usually they are violently swinging their arms. Ever take a punch to the face, or a globe puncturing gouge to the eye? You bleed.

I think group incentives need to be environmentally managed. No magic stat increases etc. Theres a thread about an electric grid and that could be a group project. -

Yeah not many here see to hve played ARMA before. When I find maps I put false information on the then drop it.
