L85 isn't bad for shooting. It's just not a sniper rifle, so you can't expect it to be acurate passed 400 meters.

Top end gear should be M16, or M24. The way I'd see it, tiers in L4D are very coherent. We could use them and add some real life diversity to end up with something like: Tiers one: 9 mm handguns / melee weapons 9 mm SMG's (Mac 10, MP5, PPSH for a russian-rustic feeling) Semi-auto shotguns, up to M870 Hunting rifles Tiers two: .45 ACP handguns The whole AK family, but without any kind of attachment CZ550 Chainsaw, to be fed with fuel, being very loud to balance it Tiers three: M16 M24 Weapons attachment, like a *4 optic, a silencer. More than that, what would really change the game, would be ammo scarcity. Right now when you find a gun, you'll find at least two clips with it, and two more clips ten meters after. Weapons should be less rare, ammo should way more.

Hello and thank you for your well written post. I will answer very shortly, not because I don't think your post doesn't deserve more, but because I think you're missing the simplicity of why most people end up "not playing DayZ". That game may be the first ever to really feature a multiplayer survival experience. Zombies really are a secondary feature, only a background. The game is about survival of the fittest. So what are the people trying to do ? Winning the game. How do you win a game that has no goal ? By beating its principle. The game is about survival, so survivors organised to survive the best way they can. It really is as simple as that for most survivors adopting behaviors you described (which totally apply to me).

I agree with OP. He described very well how I play. I scan with thermal, get out range finder if needed, and take out the target with AS50. I do it because I always try to be the most efficient, and right now that's the only way. I would rather have gameplay balanced around night vision only (also remove that DMR/NV shit, or allow every weapon to do it) at night and normal vision during the day.

It's funny because that's the exact day our server is abused by some untouched hacker grenade launching people everywhere on Chernarus. Point is that you used the verb "seem" for a reason: we actually have no idea about this, except what they're telling us and some script kiddies whining they got banned today. Thank you both for you replies, I wasn't aware of some aspects you mentionned. Maybe then we can hope for something better for the stand alone.

Hi. Am I the only one wondering about that stand alone project, when you can't play the alpha because of hackers ? I mean, it's everyday now. And I'm not talking about that cute and funny hacker that'll spawn some gear for his friends and himself and play the game, or the one that'll find vehicles with a radar. No, I'm talking about server wide grenade launcher nuking, killing everyone almost instantly (plus their vehicle), server wide teleporting in the air without parachute, and so on. Considering how long it takes to gather pieces to patch a chopper, how long it is to grab NV/L85 and so on, and how quick and often you'll get it wiped by a hacker, my question is: how the hell do you think you'll get a stand alone ? I really don't think that game will continue its growth without a serious anti-hack system.

Hello. I've been locally banned from FR35 by an admin abusing his powers; he used to his powers to find us then kill us. When I told him that it was lame, I got banned from the server. What should I do ? Can I get an unban from here ? Thanks. :)

Hi and thanks for answering. :) Because I'm playing there with many friends, and that we have tents and vehicles there. Also, I'd feel bad asking friends to move servers because some admin used his power to gain advantage. After some Mumble talk, admin unbanned me. Forget it and again thanks.

Hi ! I've encountered a weird character behavior tonight. My friend and I were playing on FR35, and when we read the announcement 10 minutes before the restart, we disconnected. Upon reconnection, we were naked, on the beach. Since then, we haven't been able to get our characters back. Is it a reccurent problem ? Can we get them back ? Thanks !
