Tempted... since I just found an FN FAL ANVPVS4... But not willing to take the risk, since you could easily just shoot me. -

I found one today in a barracks. I blew up that barracks later, cause I had no room for such a thing. :( -

May I add I've ran into an annoying bug... On the southern barracks, the 3rd room has a chance of spawning a military zombie that doesn't really attack you, but makes the aggro sound and the animation. Had to put that sucker down four or five times now, each time scaring the shit out of me cause he spawns either when I approach the door first, or just as Im leaving. -

Yeah, it's a pain. I must've gone through atleast 40 barracks. Im surprised I'm still alive, had a few close calls so far. Just a few hours ago I was looting barracks and someone spawned behind me, thought they were outside at first, but from the corner of my eye I saw a man figure walk behind me, oblivious to my presence. I thought about just laying down, but then I thought to myself: "Who dares, wins" and stood up and sprayed like a mofo. Well, unfortunately I think I only hit him once as he was just entering one of the rooms, followed by a minute of silence until I hear "cling." That meant RUN MOTHERFUCKER. Managed to run out the door and he ended up blowing himself up. Looted beans from him, lol. -

There was no loot. No loot at all, not on the floor, not between the seats in the chopper, not beneath the chopper, nowhere. I heard if the weapon is glitched like that, then theres no loot sometimes. The zombies spawned as I moved close, so I imagine it was still fresh. I killed the pilots and they dropped shotgun slugs and an empty tin can. -_- I've found 2 M4 SDs so far, a satchel, a rocket launcher, 2x DMR and 3x M4A3 CCOs Still no fucking night vision... FUCK! Its already bad enough I play alone, since night time is the only safe time... Well, relatively safe; i've been shot at by some bastard with either thermals or NVGs. -
So I've managed to find myself: a Matchbox a Hatchet a Hunting Knife a Compass an Alice Pack An M4 CCO SD Glock 17 w/ flash light a DMR All I can think of is really just upgrading my weaponry (( Which doesnt seem like a must do thing )) and finding NVGs / a Ghillie suit before I set out for the crashed helis and start hunting people. What do you guys think I should do?

I'd imagine as a medic you'd definitely not want to engage in combat, I've played the role several times. A medic is supposed to patch up the people that're fighting, losing a medic means you've crippled your squad severely. However, as a medic, you too engage in combat quite often. I imagine it's ofcourse different in Day z, but if your squad is large enough, the principles should remain the same. I would never try to contact an armed stranger, I shoot on sight. 4 Murders so far, gotten off lucky and haven't had to fire many shots... One kill was with an axe, lulz! Sorry, I've only been playing Arma since the launch of Arma 1 among clans with regular Player versus Player scenarios on their dedicated server accompanied by series of mods like ACE and ACRE. Its not like I've had to prove myself to be able to take down people and master every gun in the game, including with the mod where you have to take into consideration wind/humid as well as the bullet drop. Equipement may not make you a good player, however, you'll be at a severe disadvantage if you do not have the right equipement. You try fighting off a small squad of highly equipped players in total, pitch black darkness with no night vision capabilities.

ITS A TRAP!

You can post here your survivor stories, didn't find a topic with this theme so I made my own. Just recently I logged off after managing to pull off -- in my opinion -- quite a survival miracle. It began with me checking out the North West Airfield, clearing the first barracks on the eastern side before deciding to move down towards the southern barracks. However, contrary to me being often cautious and going around... I decided to go THROUGH the open airfield. This decision was mostly made because of how low the population seemed to be on the server. However, on this Canadian server, just as I'm getting close to the barracks on the airfield, I get shot at. I take a hit or two before I manage to return fire, as the damn Canoock that was shooting at me from an unconcealed position. I take him down and that slippery weasel combat logs as he goes unconscious and just as I'm about to bandage myself, I go unconscious. I watch there helplessly as my blood drops from 5k to 1k, barely getting up in time to patch myself up and eat the last cooked meat in my backpack. I then set off towards the forest, away from the zombies, in hunt for meat before I die. (( Not sure if I die when my blood meter is flashing, like with food or water )) Usually I have pretty good luck with findings the animals, but I couldn't find a single thing. Top it off that I was passing out every minute-or-so. I finally come across a rabbit on an open field, chasing that little b***** for a good quarter of a kilometer before I manage to shoot it with my M4 CCO SD. I cook the meat and I'm now around 1900 blood. However, I spot a boar in the forest and I literally say: "Oh I could kiss your sweet swine ass..." before I'm interrupted by the fact that the freaking thing disappeared. I spent looking around the bushes for it, but it wasn't there and I was forced to abandon it. I manage to kill another rabbit and eat it before I've suddenly got a zombie behind me, in the middle of a forest; turns out I ran next to a deer stand. I kill the zombie with a head shot before it knocks me unconscious, again leaving me bleeding and watching as my health drops -- though at a faster rate now. I drop to 300 blood before I use my last bandage and I'm off to search for food, after an agonizing 6 or 10 minutes I finally find food. Not just one boar, but two boars! Here's the twist: It was dark, pitch black. From there on I've sworn to be more cautious even on low pop servers as well as sworn vengeance against any Canoock that I come across! Hide your beans, hide your meat, Canoocks... Cause I'm coming for it.
