Today me and friend of mine ran into a... thing. I want to ask your opinion on those two situations, that happened to us today: 1. friend was inside a barn, on top(third) floor. He was waiting for me, covering the tractor parked inside. 3dp on this server is on, so he could see even the second floor of the barn. There was noone. Then someone greeted him, said he has a beautiful blue face, and started shooting around my friend. He was trying to figure out wtf is going on, but he couldn't find who was shooting him, even though he knew that this shooter was inside the barn (otherwise he couldn't see him and his blue face skin). Zombies that gathered at the sound started running almost to the friend, so he figured out that those 'shooters' were sitting right next to him. After a minute of this show, friend logged out - we are not combatloggers, but this situation was too strange. 2. i was running to his place. I just died, so i had nothing to loose, so i ran almost straight to him. When i was running near Kozlovka, i sat into three firtrees in the middle of the field. Then i've heard someone eating right next to me, and someone greeted me. I greeted them and said that i've just spawned and have nothing but a flashlight. They said that they don't need a thing - then i decided to have a look at them. i ran around trees - and while i was running, i hitted someone twice. Hovewer, i saw noone. Then i logged out, because it's not fun to die to invisible people even if you have nothing to loose. now the questions: -have you expierienced something similar? -was it cheat or some bug? -based on the speed of fixing bugs in the pase, how long do you think it'll take to get this fixed?

It makes me sad to see a lot of 'please dont kill me' threads on the forums. Hovewer, there IS a way to fix that. You need to make ammo _extremely_ rare, and remove all the ways to duplicate magazines (or refill on logout/login). What is _extremely_ rare? For example, remember, how much of NVG or Ghillie you've found over all the time you've played (not counting finding 20 of duplicated NVGs in the camp outside the map). And now let's say that each time you've found NVG, you'd find 3-7 bullets for 1911. That'd be more realistic (i don't know how much weapons are in use in America, but in eastern europe you won't find 2x1911 +3xPM +20magazines to them over an 4-hour walk. You won't spend ammo you was gathering for a week 'for lulz'. Hovewer, it's possible that people will start hunting other people for ammo. But i am sure - no one will kill you from a 300 meters with 1911. And if 1911 shots are that rare, i doubt there will be more than 30 shots (not hits) from snipers over a week. BUT. it would be way too boring. It's not the idea for DayZ. Maybe it'll fit into some Post apocalyptic MMO in the future, where the world will be almost, at least, the Europe's size. So you will have to spend a month of playtime to get to the other side of a map.

Part one. Yesterday me and friend of mine have decided to raid some camps north of Gvozdno. (To prevent holy war: our camp was raided several times, too - and i think it's a part of the game). We got there on our stolen volkswagen (stole tractor on the way there). In the camps we found after searching for 20 minutes we found some guns and nvg. Full of ourselves, we drived back. When we were passing Gvozdno, i accidentally touched street light with my wheel. Speed was maybe 1-2kmph - i was slowly moving between the trash pile on the road and a fence. The moment i touched street light, i was BattleEyed from the server 'for scripting', and my tractor instantly exploded and disappeared faster than i could get back online. I was lucky to not get hit. After hearing a lot of new information about myself from my friend, i got in his car and we continued driving. End of part one. Part two. Today me and friend of mine.... ...blahblahblah... ...Gvozdno...blahblah... I got out of the car to check market. He decided to drive out of Gvozdno to wait for me in the forest. And then he touched this goddamn street light. While turning. At almost zero speed. Both of us were crushing into the walls much harder before - but this Pillar... This Being seemed to multiply the damage and transfer some of it into astral form, hitting not only his physical body, but also his soul. He was battleyed for scripting, car exploded and disappeared. I fixed his leg, wounds and made a transfusion. It saved his life, but his love - extremely slow on the dirt, unhideable yellow volkswagen, is now gone forever. End of part two. Epilogue. Wtf was that? What's wrong with this street light? Is it supposed to kick players and destroy vehicles just like that? Why is it allowed to do all of that? Is it some kind of Forgotten Street Light that no one believed to exist since the Crusades?

me and friend of mine were raiding berezino - i was inside building next to a supermarket, he was in forest, covering me. then he got killed (because he wasn't looking for his back) and i wasnt able to snipe his killer from the town because every time i was turning NW, i was getting a mix of caleidoscope and acid. And because i never practiced with DMR before.

I study in Moscow. there (55* 45' N) it's not pitch dark outside. To be honest, when i was getting into university, i wasn't able to sleep for two nights, because it was so bright i was able to read a book at 3 am. However, sometimes i visit my native city, Rostov-on-don (47* 14' N). And there it IS pitch dark outside at night. 10 meters from a streen light and you are not able to see a road curb you're standing on. As far as i noticed when playing DayZ, 'chernarus' is somewhere in similar latitude as Rostov, as our autumn is quite similar. Maybe it's 200-300kilometers to the north, but not more than that. And it should be that dark in the night. To be honest, setting HDR to max (with default gamma and brightness) makes night way too bright. I can see crawling player from 100 meters for sure. IRL, in forest, i'd noticed him only when i'd stepped on him. However, last few days moon was close to it's full - so it's okay to be that bright.

Hi everyone. After one of my game sessions, when i was nearby killed by a something, i thought - what are the weirdest moments everyone expierienced (due to cheaters, lags, bugs, sun and stars, black magic etc)? let me start: #1. once i logged in, and happened to spawn a ton of meters from ground, above trees at twice their height distance. i thought '... i should not even move my head and quickly log out...', and then i accidentally placed hand on touchpad. Lost a complete toolbelt of gadgets (had everything except gps) and cz550. Then i was not asked standard 'choose your gender' dialogue on respawn, and was spawned somewhere in the old fields with my gear from previous life - AK w Cobra etc. I played for a 4 days since then, when... story #2. #2. (about a week ago, server FR 22) at night, me and my friend were crawling through mountain to the north of Dolina (west from Solnichniy). I saw fire and came closer - it happened to be a crashed helicopter. After a quick look, i found NVG and ran away retreated to the forest. I met my friend near the lake on the road from Dolina to Solnichniy, and then... my NVG was completely blinded, my ears were blowing away. I screamed DAFUQ and fell to the ground. When i took NVG off, i saw a lot of explosions around me. It was nice artillery fire. Also, i noticed that i have less than 7litres of blood, i am bleeding and my leg is broken. After short discussion with my teammate (-wtf is that?! -how can i know?!) we decided to make our first combat disconnect. Later i entered half-empty server and bandaged myself, ate all my food to be above 6litres of blood and used last morphine to stand. Wasn't able to play since then, need to wait for teammate to transfuse blood. #~ (short story) Two or three times i was teleported through quarter the map. I remember it quite well - i was running zigzags from NW airfield, where my friend was sniped down, and almost got to Petrovka, when... i appeared in the open field to the NE from airfield and heard gunshots again. Other two times were not so ... frustrating, so i won't post about Adventures In The Empty Field For Some Time. So, what happened to you? Were you attacked by a headcrab? Or did you took Ghille suit and was teleported to the shore with no backpack, as my friend did?
