I'm confused as to why no one seems excited about the limited testing beginning. Does this not mean we can expect more videos soon and a wider release soon? Why the hell is everyone arguing about endgame hypotheticals?

Well this depends on how true your story is. If you indeed hit him many times and emptied a clip in him and he didn't die then I think it's fine that you logged. However, if you're just an awful shot and panicked and thought you were hitting him a bunch then it was a no no.

Nothing wrong with killing new spawns. I think it's stupid and pointless and doesn't say much for the person scoping out defenseless targets, but it's a legitimate part of the game I think. Yesterday I had to Alt F4 because of hackers. At least I think it was because of hackers. I met two guys in Cherno and was running around with them for half an hour or so and then all of a sudden I was kind of floating a couple feet in the air and I couldn't move. At first I thought it was a glitch but then they walked over and it looked like they were about to go in my bag so I took off. Can anyone confirm that this type of hacking and robbing has occurred and it wasn't just a glitch and I got nervous?

I got super lucky and found one at one of my first helicopter crash sites. I love it. It's the only gun I've ever killed someone with. It was reliable then so I don't know why people say it's only good for its scope. 3 quick shots did it for me. P.S. It's the only murder I've ever committed and it was self-defense.

Call of Duty doesn't have doors, what is this madness? P.S. Doomclap I hope you've figured this out now. There were some legit answers on here. Write back if you haven't.

The server I play on has very few hackers (saw one in the last few weeks), but it only has like 5-10 people who play on it at a time which sucks. 20+ is hacker haven, I think you've just been lucky.

I haven't had to hack for a long time *knock on wood,* but it is quite an enjoyable weapon :). My only player kill has been by hacking someone to death.

I don't want to bitch or anything but I'm pretty sure this thread- and this question for that matter- is blasphemous.

There's a lot to do, maybe you just don't have enough patience for the game. There's nothing saying you have to play the game at some breakneck speed. Have you found night vision goggles yet? Have you found a ghillie suit? Have you found an AS50 (not from a body or from a tent)? Have you found an L85A2-AWS? Have you started a camp? Have you tried finding and/or collecting vehicles? Have you tried racking up a huge zombie kill count? Have you tried racking up a huge player kill count? Have you tried finding someone and just stalking them? Have you tried making friendly contact with people to get a team and make your own goals? Have you tried robbing people? Have you tried kidnapping them? I mean this is just me coming up with this, I'm sure people are finding plenty of other things to do.

It seems that my speakers are reversed and I'm not too sure how to fix this. When zombies are on my right side, I can hear them from my left speaker and vice versa. I'm not sure if it's how I have them plugged in (though my fiddling with them hasn't made a difference). So I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this or if anyone had any suggestions. Thanks!

I'll go test the footsteps thing because I think it's the same for me. Reply in a sec. Edit: Both speakers for me. Are you sure there aren't any other sound issues? Or is it definitely just the footsteps?

Haha I love you. Beans. However, I would still like to know why they're reversed as the left speaker/right speaker colours go to their proper places. They are on their "proper" side.

Ugh the dreaded accidental discharge. Nobody here is judging you for it, don't worry. You're in the right place, we're all friends here! That being said, I have no idea how to fix this issue but I HAVE heard of it before. My one friend was getting it and scaring the shit out of us. So you're not alone! I'm interested to see if anyone has an answer.

The other day I was near Green Mountain and I heard some gunshots. I went prone and looked around and saw a guy in a ghillie suit running through the forest. I didn't shoot him even though he had better gear than me and it would have been a good haul. Why? Because whenever I see people I'm afraid that if I have to shoot them then they will be hackers with invincibility (has happened a couple times). A little while back I was in a supermarket and a guy walked in with a makarov. I had a hatchet. I asked him if he was friendly. He responded by shooting me. Unfortunately for him I was knocked out and he thought I was dead. So I got back up and swiped him a couple times and killed him. It could have been a much nicer encounter. Another time I had decent gear and decided to go on top of the fire station in Elektro (if you go on top of the fire station in Elektro you're gonna have a bad time). It was nighttime and I thought I might be able to get away with it. I was sniped and I died. Points to be made: -If you shoot on sight you risk being killed by a hacker who may have not otherwise noticed or cared about you. -Being friendly to someone is always worth the risk because it's always nice meeting new people, and it's actually exciting not knowing how someone will react to you. It is worth the risk of dying to meet somebody new in the game. -Even if you have decent gear and you're shot by somebody you didn't even see, relax. Dying is part of the game. I think too many people are overly concerned with dying. I see a lot of people complaining about the boredom they experience after they get a bunch of decent gear. Well then put yourself in riskier situations and maybe get in a gunfight you know you'll probably lose. Restarting is underrated. It can be fun to have to build back up again. There are degrees of fun at each phase of survival when you spawn. Try experiencing all of them. Protect your life as best you can, but remember that dying isn't the worst thing ever. Make the DayZ community a nice one, don't shoot on sight. You can guarantee that not everyone will avoid shooting on sight. But if we can get a situation where the majority of players don't, I think DayZ will be a much better place.

That's a good point. Has the Dayz team been overrun with rampant oral sex? I agree this isn't a laughing matter. What if it isn't consensual oral sex? Nobody would be laughing then would they? I'm actually calling somebody right now to look into this. If there's widespread sexual assault going on we can't just all sit back and pretend it isn't happening. Everyone pick up the phone and call your local law enforcement office to report this. Once the investigation is over we can be happy that either Rocket and his team weren't in fact being orally assaulted, or that they can now get the psychological help they need to deal with the trauma. The added benefit is they can get back to work on this wonderful mod :).

At least your would-be victims can take your loot and actually have a chance at defending themselves.

Whenever it gets to the loading screen where it just says "Loading" and the bar disappears and it sits there, I close the game and restart it with a different server.
