I've noticed an incline in various script restriction kicks. Brilliant news, I say.

Bandit able to take almost 30 bullets, without dying?
Forceflare replied to blommas's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
At 889 Blood per shot, a player can take up to 14 shots from the MP5SD6. You're better off using tin cans. -
Let's hope this update is actually functional!

DayZ community supports Hackers and scripters
Forceflare replied to ShigZ's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
The community doesn't support hackers. Arma 2 does, the community simply trolls the players who don't understand that. -
You paid for Arma 2; DayZ is free, sir.

Fixed.

Stumbling upon a hacked item and intentionally trading for one is where a line should be drawn. I genuinely hope somebody kills you.

Also. If you have aggro and you run by a cow, pig, or sheep. Shouldn't there attention be directed toward the easiest target? I mean the animals just stand there like morons. Zeds should hunger for animals as well.

It's not great at all. You're just a prick for destroying someone's base.

Found a crash site, but not its gear.
Forceflare replied to The_Greed_ITA's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Gear can spawn anywhere around the crash site within about an 8m radius. It can be glitched inside the front or the rear of the chopper and it can also be hidden under tall grass or small mounds in the terrain. Alternatively, it could have very well already been looted. Edit: What smasht_AU said, as well. -
[HOW TO] Fix Graphical Artifacts & Glitches (Game Settings)
Forceflare posted a topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Graphical glitches are a pain, that's a given. These are two tried and true methods that have worked for everybody I've shared this with. I figured since there are about seventy five threads about how terrible these artifacts are, I'd share a potential solution with the community. Step 1. Access your graphical settings: Esc (key) > Options > Video Options > Advanced (bottom left corner of the menu)Step 2. (Video Memory method) Before anything, make sure you're facing the artifacts so you can see them. Check your Video Memory setting. If it's set to DEFAULT, change it to anything other than DEFAULT (this can potentially fix them by itself). If this hasn't already fixed them, log out then back in. Now, change your Video Memory back to DEFAULT and this should work. If at first you don't succeed, try it again. Change it to any other setting then re-log and revert it back to DEFAULT.Step 3. (Texture Detail method) Again, make sure you're looking at the artifact. Generally, this method only works for players with HIGH or VERY HIGH Texture Detail settings. All you need to do is fiddle around with this setting, fluctuating it. Change it from your current setting to a Higher or Lower setting, and then back. This should also work. If this doesn't work at first, re-log and continue fiddling with this setting.Step 4. (Flush Command) This method can work either facing the artifacts or not; It doesn't matter. Simply hold SHIFT and press " - " twice on your NUMPAD. Then release SHIFT and type FLUSH. There will be no command prompt so it will not be visible. If done correctly, your screen should go black and you'll get a message. This doesn't always fix the artifacts on the first try so you'll need to do this multiple times.Step 5. (Last Resort) If all else fails, the most you can do now is avoid where the artifacts show up. These graphical glitches are caused by dead bodies, essentially. These areas with dead bodies are the only places you should be experiences artifacts. Simply avoid these areas until the server restarts (doesn't always fix the glitches) or switch servers (also doesn't always work).
