Sounds like a fun hack to spawn a UAZ near the coast and watch noobs get banned when the innocently hop in and try to drive. These hacker assholes only want to ruin the game for everyone.

DayZ - A Google Street View tour of Chenarus
-Cdn-Chard replied to Lightvision (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Whoa!!! Can you imagine being a DayZ addict, dropping acid and walking through that town? That is so awesome!!!!!!! -
How long have you waited for the houglass to disappear and where exactly are you on the map?

55 day old character. Killed by hacker.
-Cdn-Chard replied to Xianyu's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I totally feel your pain. I had a 55'er die on me a couple of weeks ago and it was quite sad. More recently, I had a well geared character killed after I aggro'd some walkers, made a sprint for the forest and blundered literally right through a group of four bandits who quickly perforated me with rounds from a variety of not so nice weapons. What did I do not less than an hour earlier? Yup! you guessed it. Picked up a can of the "Dew". That stuff'll kill ya!!! You do it by not going blindly into hotspots, not killing everyone you meet and staying off of servers with 40+ people!!! And it's not boring at all. Quite the opposite, because you have so much vested in that character, you jump at every sound and get a real case of suvivor-paranoia. Just like you should if it were the real thing. Playing "disposable" lives and rushing to combat doesn't even come close to trying to do a long term survival, as long as you're still playing the game and encountering other players. -
Here a flipside to the Perks issue..... Let the system track your activity on special tasks and after doing it many, many, many times, you might EARN a perk...(you'll likely die long before you get one or you can become damn mechanic lurking in the remote forests of Cerno). Note: Anything that relates to combat/senses/speed should be left alone... Do you repair vehicles all the time? Well then after doing it for a while (I mean a long while), you get more skilled.. you get a perk. Do you regularly give first aid to others? Maybe your speed goes up and maybe you can even eventually get some perk (faster bandage times, healing ability, cure infections, whatever) Do you hunt and gut animals all the time... Maybe you can get an extra meat... None are game changing, and all would reflect your character improving as they survive.

I don't mind the temperature/sickness thing.. But I do prefer having a digital temperature reading and not some vague, possibly bugged graphic thermometer. When the temperature was on the debug screen, I could play at night and in the rain, but had to make sure to take cover when I my temperature got too low (aka got the chills). Now I have no idea what my temperature is!!! I got sick, fell to half blood and couldn't find any antibiotics... Suicided a character for no good reason other than a bugged interface.

Hero Skin vs Crap Bandit Skin
-Cdn-Chard replied to Buro (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'd say ditch the bandit skins altogether and make all the population is equally unidentifiable as untrustworthy. Instead, I like the idea of a Hero skin, something to reward "positive" play. Reward players that go to the trouble of doing good. The only problem is that accurately tracking humanity is an issue, and that killing in self-defence earns you a bandit rap while bandit medics come across as saints... Finally, I just would have hoped that the skin be a little more camoflauged, more like the Warlord or one of the PMC contractors or a blck/red beret wearing soldier type. Noticable up close, but not from afar. Those sleeves will get you killed quick!!! -
better differentiate colors for the temperature indicator
-Cdn-Chard replied to Syrell's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Fair enough, but I started coughing, got infected, and had my blood drop slowly to 6000 without the indicator changing a bit. It wasn't even raining!!! Quite lame. I'd prefer to see a more accurate thermometer reading, preferably digital. With antibiotics being so extremely rare, it's a game breaker to get a cold... So what's the solution? Only play on daytime servers?? Hide in structures each night. I hope Rocket addresses this in 1.7.3 -
better differentiate colors for the temperature indicator
-Cdn-Chard replied to Syrell's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
+1.. I just suicided a character because of this. When I had an actual temperature reading, I was able to take great care not to get sick... Now the themometer doesn't even seem to work... It stays pink and before I know it, I'm coughing and my blood drops to 6000. Really crappy... Something needs to be fixed... Maybe making it blink when you're approaching a critical milestone would be the way to go. Then you'd know to take cover or start a fire or something. As it stands it's a real drag. -
Are Vehicles/Tents Saving OffMap? I've been looking for some of the larger vehicles and have to wonder if anybody has managed to or seen vehicles/tents being saved offmap? Developers? Comments?

Arma tip, don't attempt ladders unless you're carrying a rifle.

Regarding your fifth point, my understanding was that Rocket removed the respawn because it was located dangerously close to the options menu in the game interface, and then many, many players were accidentally killing their characters by mistake. Regarding your first point, I believe that's the ARMA engine (wait for Arma3). Regarding your other points, I believe you should learn to play the game Rocket designed. Frankly, spawning at Kameneka is a godsend if all you want to do is get away from the PVP and gear up fast. Zelenogrosk is just 3 km inland. Suck it up, tie up your bootlaces and get going.

HELP ASAP! New player our server was teleported and I am screwed.
-Cdn-Chard replied to Butteredtoast's topic in New Player Discussion
Something similar happened to me. I respawned on the debug plains with a broken leg. I logged off and logged back onto a known server and I spawned on a beach with all of my gear. I made sure that I logged off asap (less than 5 seconds) after realizing I was screwed...\ Saved me.. -
Great job... I'd like to politely a about what's happening with off map tents/vehicles? Does the new DayZ code precent savig outside that area and resets or what? I've asked a couple of times but never got a response. With choppers back in the game (oh yeah!!!) I'm worried that they'll all be camped way off the map. (unless you consider off-map as on-map and that changes things)

DayZ - US 673 (v1.7.2.4/Beta 95389) What Version are they playing??
-Cdn-Chard posted a topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
DayZ - US 673 (v1.7.2.4/Beta 95389) What Version are they playing?? DayZ Commander shows them back on 1.7.2.3 and when I logged in I was stripped of all of my gear, was teleported to the debug plains with a broken leg. Logged off and logged back into a known 1.7.2.4 server and reappeared at the beach. Is DayZ - US 673 really running on v1.7.2.4/Beta 95389. How can I tell for sure???
