To the player on US 202 in Breezey last night, I owe you an apology. I haven't used a CZ550 before, and with you beelining for my building with a string of zombies hot on your heels, I was just trying to help out. I honestly didn't mean to shoot you in the head and I feel terrible for doing so. That wasn't how it was supposed to go at all. I was aiming for your legs.

I was rocking a CZ550, AKM, and PDW with SD mags until a server glitch took the CZ and the AKM :( May not be the best gear in the world, but it works great for solo play.

Q: Are you a Bandit or a Survivor? A: Yes.

Law to Lawless Lands

Seems like a good idea to me. I may be a bandit, but facing organized opposition can't do anything but make things more interesting for everyone. -
Hey, he said the bandits are winning! Did you hear that guys? We're winning!

I wish new players would think about this for a second: "Hmmm, I'm on a zombie infested island with limited resources. That complete stranger in front of me has an AKM. Should I go say 'Hi'?" Would you do that in real life?

I watched videos on Youtube before I got the game. I rolled into Cherno on my very first spawn with a full KoS mentality; haven't regretted it once yet.

On a new spawn, the hospitals are the first place I hit up (because they are so horrifically dangerous, and new spawns have nothing to lose)

Is there any way to see the difference between a bandit and a survivor?
JDCollie replied to grimsonfart's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
There is a very simple way; announce yourself on direct chat, and see if you are still alive ten seconds later. -
If I'm not confident that I can't get the kill, I don't take the shot. It isn't worth revealing my position just to wing someone that is just going to log before I can loot/kill them.

Why would you ever snipe up there? Good work my friend, the axe was the perfect tool for that endeavor. -
I'm with this guy. Backstabbing stupid people works, but backstabbing stupid people in merciless and creative ways is much better!
-
What are you talking about? He didn't leave anyone behind. :D

Its part of the ArmA II game singleplayer.

I think the 'Honorable' survivors use all the time they spend being dead trolling the Bandit Campfire. Ignore them; I would have done exactly the same thing. Also, you get beans for punishing his dc-noobery.

can we make it so clan groups dont just rape everything ?

What could you possibly do that would make a group of people working together less powerful than one guy buy himself? -
Being the noobie nooblet that I am, I wanted to share with you all my very first murder ever! I had picked up an AKM from the North-East firestation on my way into Elektro, and was searching the office building just south of there for supplies when I heard gunfire from the west, some sort of automatic being fired in single shots and short bursts. Sounded very much like someone holding off a zombie horde. This was punctuated by some Winchester fire a bit farther off. I, the wannabe bandit, nearly peed myself in surprise (I thought I was alone, having watched the area for about 10 minutes before entering the city) Once me and my shorts had recovered, I sneaked across the street into the pub and carefully began clearing the building. With lines of sight on the office and grocery store, I figured it would be a good place to keep an eye out for my prey. The ground floor was clear, and the second floor was looking clean too, when I rounded the corner in the hallway and found myself staring at an AKM armed survivor. Apparently he had the same idea as me, and was crouched looking at the grocery store. I unloaded fifteen rounds into him in a mix of panic, adrenaline, and glee. Then I decided that maybe the pub wasn't such a good place to stake out after all. Noobs can sneak up on you there, you know?

Instead you lurk on forums dissing new players who are excited to have experienced a different part of the game? Bravo sir, you are a pillar of honor among men. Rather than coming in here and ragging on me, you could have explained some ways I could have handled the situation differently, or given some constructive reasons for me to avoid banditry in the future. Instead you approach me with the same essentially unprovoked hostility which you claim to eschew.

It was a bandit bush. It stole your weapon and is now pwning some very confused players outside of Starey.
-
Despite the damage nerf, the audibility improvement to the Lee Enfield makes the gun much more usable IMO. You won't be making a zombie flash rave every time you fire the thing now.
-
The fact that I was on the coast because I had just spawned East of Elektro might factor in here. Also, I was alone. If I had backup the situation could potentially have been different, but even if I hadn't been hunting the guy (which I was, and for which I make no apology) I would have opened fire simply because he was obviously a bandit himself, and there was no way to safely extricate myself from the situation without bloodshed.

However, this is clearly posted in the bandit campfire. Also, just out of curiosity, if you came around a corner and found a survivor with an assault rifle eight feet away, would you announce yourself? If so, kudos to you, but I'm not willing to take that risk.

You should have bit his knees off.
