make the blooddrop go empty in addition to changing colors
sausagekingofchicago replied to pillerking@yahoo.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'd like to see the player avatar start to move differently and make different sounds depending on amount of blood. Slouching, swaying, moaning, stumbling etc. That's some fancy animation and not everyone plays in third person. -
You can combat log in every shooter on the PC but most people don't because they're all arena style deathmatch games. Combat logging in MMO's is pretty pointless but it's possible. People do it in this game because they don't want to start over and puss out at the first sign of danger. They're cowards. They're going to run. You can't prevent someone from closing their program. Even if you could you wouldn't be able to stop them from disconnecting their router or unplugging their computer. We definitely need a logout timer. Characters should fall into a coma or go limp like a massive wiener if the player logs out like a coward before the timer finishes and bodies shouldn't vanish if players log out with their lightening speed coward key. Then again, I don't play on servers where this is acceptable. They need to free the mod up a bit so players can get back to playing rather than dealing with enormous douches. Another solution, player joining and player quitting messages and kill/death messages. The whole server should know when some coward shows his true colors.

Mature Gaming Server & TS3?
sausagekingofchicago replied to zombietampons's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
So a guy named zombietampons starts advertising a mature server... totally legit. -
How about.. Instead of one enormous map with incredible detail we end up finding lots of smaller maps with various levels of detail. You can't find a map with every single building marked on it at your local grocery store anyway. The current level of detail could be reserved for military grade maps while generalized maps of specific areas would be more common. Hand scribbled maps, torn out pages from road atlases, maps of various cities and their surrounding areas, medium sized maps, etc. could add a little more depth to looting. I'd also like the ability to copy maps that are found and give them to in game friends. Finding maps with waypoints/markers of stashes could lead to loot or traps. Basically, no one map, besides rare loot, would suffice for the entire game world. Just tossing out ideas. War Z developers are required to pay me 10,000 US dollars if they rip off this idea. K, thx.

That run on gas? How do you get the gas for the generator?! /s

I'm going to bump this post up because I 100% support this. I'd rather the design to be extremely simple though. No rope bridges or massive compounds in the trees or anything like that. Just a simple rope or ability to climb and a place to sit or store stuff. Just a platform with a box and sleeping bag more or less. Low key, hard to spot, useful. I'd still support this concept if they were just random loot locations found in the forests with maybe an option for a player to claim it (so it doesn't vanish like downed choppers at reset). Who looks up in the trees anyway? Until we get those damn drop bears in game I doubt anyone will.

How to instantly make dayz more fun
sausagekingofchicago replied to evilsandwich2 (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Zombies need to be much much harder but I'm not judging the standalone by the weak zombies in the current game. Hopefully they'll have more power to modify the AI with full access to the game and bring us some serious threats. Zombies near the coast need to be a bit easier for the noobs compared to the zombies at the NW and NE airfields. I want those places to be a living nightmare of military zombies if flak jackets (more shots needed to drop them), helmets (harder headshots), NV (making some completely blind during the day but extremely dangerous at night), and obviously better pathing in the hangers. Stuff like that. Just my two cents. Zombies running in doors is definitely a must. That alone would force players to work together more. And obvious the hiding in the tree needs to go. -
Are dogs worth 2 months of development time?

It's a gamble no matter what server you join.

Are dogs worth 2 months of development time?
sausagekingofchicago replied to MasterSith's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
If anything, they're not adding dogs to that other game because they don't know how yet and I doubt their engine could even do it. I've yet to see a single animal in any of their videos. The dog is also more than just a companion like in WoW. You would already know this had you read or watched anything on them. How do you know these dogs are feral? If you look at the game, nearly everyone is a bloody zombie and the game takes place in a rural setting for the most part. Can you puzzle that one out or do I need to draw you a picture? -

Sure guy. I play almost everyday and don't run into anything gamebreaking that needs to be fixed right now. Thanks for giving me ONE example. -

Someone has no idea what they're talking about. You should calm down or go over to that other games forum and praise them while they blow smoke up your ass. Domesticated dogs are very easy to befriend. I think this would be even easier if they're masters become freaking zombies. Ever rescue a lost dog Mr. I'm from the south and deal with feral packs everyday? I have. They know when they're lost and recognize good people and are willing to obey commands. Anyway, how about you watch some more videos of these dogs in action and then try to form an informed opinion. How about you pay attention to this mod and it's devs for a change, or you could always read this thread. Maybe then you'd realize it hasn't taken them 2 months to add dogs to the game. Also, you don't need to have a dog if you don't want one. Can't wait to see how much they charge for dogs in that other game. -

I'm trying hard to think of something in the mod that is so broken that it has to be fixed right now.... Someone fill me in. (inb4 someone says something that is an ArmA bug and can't be fixed with a mod) -
TROLLLOLLO.. how bad do you have to suk !!!
sausagekingofchicago replied to Siberian (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
He said private hive password protected servers. Random doucheholes can't join. The one I play on has an excellent mod team and they don't fuck around when it comes to hackers. They'll also roll back the server to before the hacker took his mental dump on the players so you don't lose anything but the hacker. I've had more honest combat events on this sever than I've ever had on any public server, period. -

Are dogs worth 2 months of development time?
sausagekingofchicago replied to MasterSith's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
This. I don't think some people understand the importance of all the interviews and conventions they went to. I'd rather they spent their time making the standalone as awesome as possible and only fix gamebreaking issues in the mod. I don't think they can fix the hackers in the mod so that effort is better spent on the standalone. For now, I'm playing on a community supported whitelisted private server and I'm having a blast. Let the hacker morons fight each other. Also, I can't wait to have a dog. Especially if we can put a little ghillie suit and pack on him. -
Green Mountain Question?
sausagekingofchicago replied to Steak and Potatoes's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
For the full experience, got at night, setup some camp fires near the gate, put all your weapons in your pack and place your pack down on the ground, and then sit on the upper floor of the tower for a couple hours listening. It's pretty intense. -

I just write down the map coords. edit: derp -
OP, is this something that can be added on server side without changing the core code of the engine? If not, not going to happen. Besides this being a mod, it's based on another game that is coded the way it is for a reason. Changing the engine for this mod can break all the other mods or the core game. Hopefully they've considered your fix or alternatives for the standalone.

Plz fix the Hacker Problems on dayZ
sausagekingofchicago replied to SiDi's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
It's good to see you're keeping up on the latest hacking facts. I assume you've made reports on devheaven or in some other manner by now. Awesome. Too bad you haven't bothered to read up on the standalone one bit.
