Shakes, that don't impact a player's ability to shoot straight, or a skin isn't going to dissuade people from utilizing the most abundant food source in the game. The consequences would have to be enormous to discourage this or this game will turn into nothing but a cannibalism simulator.

Balance, how does it work? All kidding aside, there's enough snipers in game already. Making sniping easier will only make things worse.

I don't know enough about Taviana to make a judgement but avoiding drama is always a good thing.

That's pretty awesome. That adds a whole chaos element to it. :) I'd still suggest at least a private hive server and spawned in vehicles just because it's could be a pain to repair and then secure vehicles for the event.

I've been thinking of something along these lines but I don't really have the means to do it. So if anyone wants a crack at it, have at it. My thoughts on the event: A loop around the map with checkpoints manned by judges who potentially shoot at drivers with a makarov just for added drama Participants can pick from any dayz ground vehicle (multiples of same vehicle is okay) Drivers can pick their own path to the checkpoints. Time of day and course should be chosen for their scenic quality Offer various balanced loadouts of gear (1 tire, 1 engine, or 2 tires, 1 scrap etc) Drivers and navigator get shotguns, toolboxes, bandages, two cans of food and soda (no blood bags) Navigator gets GPS Drivers can ram each other and deploy tank traps but shooting other racers is forbidden "Police" that would try to stop racers in their given zone "Camera" men would be deployed around the map and in choppers. Winner is last man standing or first to complete course. Awesome admins Spectate tools Pretty big scale. It would probably need a private server, lots of streams, and real world prizes but it could probably be done on any scale just for fun. A lot of testing would need to be done beforehand to make sure it's balanced and fun. If I could pull this off I would. Oh, I wanted to call it The Pinto Bean Run.

DayZcommander will do it but I'm not sure if they host the file as well. I can't get any type of response from arma2,com at all. If and when that comes back up, you can go to http://www.arma2.com/beta-patch.php and pick exactly the beta patch you want. Download, and then just run it. It'll handle the rest.

Pretty much everything but the UAZ, S1203, and URAL are a waste of time in my book. I love the bike but it doesn't really stand up against tiny rocks (its still a lot of fun to ride, especially while under fire). All vehicles could use a slight speed boost but I feel their current offroad speeds are pretty realistic. Sometimes it's really annoying trying to get a GAZ to camp.

Ali G. I believe it's an A2OA skin. How are you launching the game? I remember not being able to find it the first time I looked but I was launching the game a different way back then. You could try loading OA without DayZ and then editing your profile.

I was collecting flashlights for a while. It can be kind of awkward moving them around in the inventory but it's pretty funny. I think the most I ever had was six. I wonder what the guy that killed me thought when he opened my pack.

The more I think about this the more I start to worry. I had food poisoning last year. The only thing I was capable of was puking and shitting and sleeping, and sometimes all three at the same time. I probably would have just rolled over and died if I had to find my own fresh water and meds while shooting at zombies. How authentic will these diseases actually be in terms of crippling the character?
