Armbands that display squad logos would work better than ridiculous tattoos, imo. The groups I play with occasionally have a friendly fire incident but we're pretty disciplined when it comes to taking shots. Some of the more intense moments comes from trying to ID an unknown player and I hope whatever solution Rocket and Co come up with doesn't take away from this.

You can. This depends entirely on the weapon and the round. You can find videos debunking the quasi-science of Mythbusters, including this topic, simply by searching Youtube. Let's pretend the Mythbusters were right, unless the entire door house is made out of a padlock it's not going to keep people out. Either way, locked doors and other barriers would definitely be welcome. :)

My grandma uses a map she printed out on her dot matrix printer but it doesn't have any loot information on it. She's 80 so we don't give her a hard time about it. -

I plan on owning both but preorders to get into alpha isn't really my cup of tea. Quite a few people will shell out a sum just to play a mod for A3 but the novelty might wear off pretty quickly if it's a rush job. I just hope that isn't going to be taken advantage of. -

Are you playing on servers local to you? Are you playing on a well moderated private hive? I haven't been knocked out by anything but a zombie in quite a while so I'm just assuming you're getting jacked by scriptkiddies. I feel your pain though. I played for a couple months thinking it was completely normal to constantly run into people in the middle of the woods, seconds after I fix a vehicle, or moments after finding something more than an Enfield. Turns out, solid admins make a world of a difference. -

edit: way to go digging up this old thread. :thumbsup: I thought the same and I was laughing pretty good at all that. Then I watched it in 1080. He hit his target at least a couple times but the desync finally caught up. Then he ran out into the open like a noob and got killed for it. Desync is not something DayZ introduced to the world so I'm not sure why he's flipping his lid over it. -

What makes sense in the scenario? If the game was based in the states I would suggest trigger assemblies, all manner of rail attachments, magazine sizes, barrels, shotgun to cartridge adapters, and gobs of ammo types but does that make sense in the setting? What kind of weapons are we even going to see in the SA? How realistic do we want to get? I'd personally like to avoid "taping a knife to a barrel" type customization. -

Verify your DayZ and Arma2 beta patch versions by checking the main menu of the game (bottom right of the screen). Then make sure you're connecting to a server with the same DayZ version and any Arma2 beta version at or below yours. Steam has been pushing out a slightly older beta patch. It's best to turn off any auto update Steam has for the beta patch, if you use Steam, or you wont be able to connect to servers running the latest beta.
