Should Rocket go sooner rather than later?

Seems like more than few people are fuzzy on Rocket's job description. Can any of your detractors tell me who reports to him? Who he reports to? Who has the final say on any matter regarding development? I noticed at least one guy talking about how the DayZ team needed some A3 programmers. Can anyone tell me who DayZ's Lead Programmer is? What his experience entails? What titles he's worked on? At least do some basic research guys. Should Rocket leave now, or later? I honestly don't have an opinion. The direction of the game is pretty clear and from what I understand, he retains creative control and will remain as a consultant even when he does leave. -

I never use online maps. When I spawn, I first try to figure out where I am. I hit a pond or well first and then look for food. If the nearest town seems to be heavily picked over I leave immediately rather than searching it all. I do check industrial areas though as you can always use a can opener of some sort. You can a pretty good distance without dying from hunger so I try to head as far inland as possible. Most people would resort to server hopping while I go to the relatively untouched towns for everything I need. I don't mind the run as exploring the terrain is part of the fun. If you're completely new you shouldn't do anything other than master your punches. You'll know you're ready to survive once you can effectively drop a zombie or two with only your fists. Aim for the head, punch them while they're down, and right as they're getting up try to land some good headshots so they won't have time to attack. Repeat. -
Isn't item permanence counterintuitive to permadeath?

Yes. Tents break permadeath. I'm not a big fan of it but at least it offers something to do and there's no guarantee your gear will still be in your tent when you finally get back. Even your buddy can't guard it 24/7. -

Err, no. They've been building this engine for months if not for almost a year. They're not scrapping what they've done with the engine, they're continuing to develop it. The new engine is what they've been developing. I'm not sure how many more ways I can say it. -

Is that where you stopped reading? Rocket's very next answer pretty much said exactly what the engine was. All of which has been stated before in one manner or the other. "moving" is just the new rocketism. -
I like the idea but what happens when you log out? Horse goes with you while other vehicles remain on the server? Does it die if you don't feed it for a few days?

I tap m3 once, door opens guaranteed. I don't even stop unless I need to do the door dance. Gates can be troublesome but I have zero issues with doors. -

That's the thing. Even with a weapon out I just tap m3 and open doors or pick up items with no problem. I haven't rebound that as far as I know (I've had to reset my leans several times but not that). I haven't accidentally reloaded at all, it's just M3. Nothing more, nothing less. It's smooth as silk. I was paying attention to it tonight and as soon as an icon to open doors pops up I tap M3 and bam, door opens. It's honestly zero effort. I used to jank aroudn with up and down but the default action is set to M3 for me. I'm happy to copy in my config if needed.
