Im looking to start a small group of 5 to 10 people to play on a dayz epoch server. Im 30yo and have 4 years experience in arma 2 playing the various mods. Ive been in and run various different groups for various different games including Dayz in the last 15 years. The group likely wouldnt have any formal structure beyond when we get into some shit and need a shot caller, its all pretty flexible. Mostly here to play and have a good time. I tend towards neutral when playing but have some bandit tendencies. what im looking for: -18+ -not a complete dick (some dickdom is acceptable) -fairly regular player -Microphone -willing to use ts3 -some experience in Dayz If youre interested post a message her or PM on the forums and ill hit you back with some contact info

http://www.adcmaps.com/ The do it by region and than within those regions they break it down into multiple individual square maps that fit together much like the ones in dayz. They are one of the largest map providers in the United States and supply all kinds of maps not just road maps if your gonna try and make that point again. Man when you have 20 people, who know, telling you that you are wrong odds are that you are wrong. There should several different maps you have to collect but I agree you should be able to combine so that they only take up one inventory slot.

No they stopped releasing updates and are closing down development after that last update. No further game development now as it is believed to be perfect /sarcasm Check the announcements section under pending updates. They are still working out a lot of bugs and this is part of the process

I've seen topo survey maps that are divided like they are in dayz for hiking and just general survey for construction. I think you have unrealistic expectations of maps my friend. Google earth has spoiled many of us so don't feel bad
-
I've used many real maps. For the area of coverage and detail it should probably be more maps to be realistic. My only complaint is that you should be able to store them together to take up les space

Is the map and compass to clunky?
lukeandstuff replied to Serious Stan's topic in General Discussion
I've done a good bit of real world backpacking and navigation with map compass and topographic maps and let me assure it is far easier in dayz than in areal life. While real life renders farther you rarely get the fields of view or number of clear land marks on chernarus. Trust me as far as real life comparisons and immersion go dayz is taking it easy on you. As fair as individual maps go... In truth to get the kind of detail you can from only the maps in dayz you would need about 10 maps. You can zoom in and out for different levels of detail and gives you a huge field of view. Again dayz is taking it easier on us here. That said I wouldn't mind being able to cut and tape them together for easy storage. As fair as maps go they don't take up a ton of room in your pack. Also no I don't use the map in game but I don't use one to get around Baltimore either since I've learned my way around -
its not a bad idea if limited to what you said, having two separate characters. Problem is that most people will use the second character as a back up keeping them in the same area and logging in with the second if the first one dies to try and get vengeance and their gear back. playing on different private hives will allow you to do exactly what your saying once they come out

I think the main reason is that to report the bug on a forum like this is stupid. Developers cant follow it and be effective. That is why they use the Bug reporting software you can see pinned at the top of this section of the forum. Where bugs can be much more easily tracked and assessed based on improtance to development and community. Ive read through several of those and most the ones that seem sincere and helpful have been upvoted and most the others get downvoted very fast. The people who post bugs on here tend to be sensational about how its game breaking and needs to be fixed. This isnt doing anything but clogging up the forums. If youre looking for a solution to your problem i could understand but most the post i have seen ahve not been in that line. Mostly just people crying about how could this not be fixed yet and the like.
