    Hotfix Build 1.7.2.3 Rolling Update

    Hard but not buggy. I'm getting Zombie during the daylight that aggro as far as 200m or more out with my crawling or crouch walking, some even aggro even though object block their view, such as hills, convert fences, and buildings. Other agro 100m out with me crouch and not moving, with their backs to me. And it only happen during the day. Only time their not bugged as night, in fact not a single problem playing as night. So it a "sight" issue, for some damn reason they've gone from crap zombie vision to superman vision during the day.

    Open up your operation arrow head folder, going to expansion folder and delete the Beta folder. Download 94700 and install it instead. Might have to avoid 6updater for a while.

    K evidently is is the first of the 1.61 patches. It's not backwards compatablity with any 1.60 servers. Also for a bit there server running it were saying they need the client patched to 1.61.94876 but the server them self were saying 1.60.94876. This was what was stop us from playing. I can connect fine to server running the newest patch now.

    Have you guys tried deleting arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta folder then reinstalling the old patch? I was able to reinstall that way fine. The old ones beta patches were all marked at 1.60, the new one is marked 1.61. Seem they made error in the version name. Basically anything 1.60.XXXXX is backward compatible but this one got miss marked and server are freaking.
  6. Found with most game that the best option. Steam overlay carries over to the program the launcher opens (like Dayz, world of tanks etc), though it doesn't track info on time played etc.

    So Rocket, is the zombie running up hill and in buildings a bug fix to them not doing it before or just a bug that that popped up? Wonder if you original intended them to but couldn't get it to work till now with the new sight/sound system their using.

    A little disconcerting. But how in the world could updating DayZ via 6launcher' date=' even affect or change your actual Arma 2 files?? Shouldn't happen, I wouldn't think! Doesn't it just update DayZ files in the DayZ folder? [/quote'] 6updater/launcher also update the the Arma 2 client to the latest beta that a server says is required to connect to it. That is what is most likely breaking peoples arma 2 install.
  9. Seriously, that game has turned into a PVP death match. I've died to other players more then I've every died to zombies. We're talk about ration of like 15-20 to 1 when you compare my death to player vs zombies. Normally I try to avoid other players and only shoot if shot at but only once in the past two weeks have I meet a player that didn't shoot at me on sight. At this point I'm going to have to start shooting on sight as well to guarantee my own survival. Zombie really are not a threat as long as your not doing stupid thing like run though town, fire your "dinner bell" aka primary weapon, etc. Players are the real issue anymore, zombie only become a issue when you really need to fire your primary to fight another player.

    Barbed Wire Getting Annoying

    Only real issue is that the hit box on the barbwire needs to be bigger and it's drop rates need to be less. I went through Electro's industrial area near the ducks and found about 13 barbwire sets in that one visits. That way to damn high. That same visit I found not a single tool box and nearly every house in Electro was blocked by barbwire. Also those that say just "go get a toolbox", not always possible. Many occasions I've seen the market and other places total blocked of, and then the bastards blocks off all the locations where toolbox spawn as well. In fact several occasions I've found a blocked off toolboxes with no way to get to them. Right now the spawn rates on barbwire is to damn high. And I refuses to server hop (I see it as a exploit) to get them so I normally just move on to another city. Despite what other say about just moving to other servers for any little issue you don't like (barbwire, darkness etc), we're suppose to have a "home" or main server we stay one, that the very idea behind why barbwire, sand bags, tents, cars, etc stay on one server. Moving server really isn't an option if this crap happens on your main server.
  11. I don't mind night time if it was a realistic darkness. Like other have said, I've been place far from civilization (Alaska in my case) and even during winter (4-6 hours of daylight where I lived) I could see more at night then this game allows. I'm not going to spot a eagle 200yards away in a tree but I can see the tree, bushes, fallen trees etc around me just fine. Frankly the darkness in this game is more like the sun died complete then it is night time.
  12. Yeah I was going to host as server but like you decide not to after reading the rules. While I don't mind host a server (already run a minecraft server for the guild), I won't till later when I'll have more control over it. Most of the guild I'm part of quit playing games like World of Tank and similar (Or not so similar in the case of SW:TOR) becasue there was no guarantee we could all actual play together. Support would die out quick if came to times where everyone couldn't get on a server we rented. Sadly since tent/vehicles etc are server based, and needed for real guild like operations you can't just go find "another" server. Best option is like some of us are doing, is to wait till server are allow with more control in the hands of those that pay for and maintain them.

    Only problem is it's to loud. Used it a lot last night and if you shoot it any where near town and everything for miles comes screaming. The problem with that in or near town it becomes a worthless weapon because zombies are respawning as fast as you kill them and just come running back from every corner of the town since they keep spawning and hearing the shots. Like other said we end up running out of ammo because they keep coming. We end up with a endless pile of bodies, no ammo, and 20-50 zombies still coming. Course this is also a issue with spawn themselves. I watch from a hill as in a 5 house area my friend kept killing zombies, only for new ones to spawn as soon as old ones die and rush to attack him. It make it impossible to loot because you can never clear an area long enough to actual loot. It's just worse with the huge sound radius of the Winchester.
  14. This would have to wait till beta or release, but any chance we could get a Clan/private server version of the Mod in the far future? Basically a version that could run off a local database and which character are only store locally? It would allow Clans/Friends to run a server with clan member's, friends, and family without putting anymore strain of the central database. I found that over the years the members of the clan I'm part of have little interest in, or lose interest with, games that they can't play with or against (I know a good portion would go bandit) fellow guild mates in. Course nearly all of them are older (31 myself), with many of them have kids or have grown kids with kids of their one. So many have very little play time between family and work. Sadly the current server setup of Dayz has the problem were there not guaranty that they could all play together on the same server so low interest in it.
  15. Over all the game good (though unable to get in a server anymore due to "waiting"). But I hope current levels of zombies are not kept like some have said they wanted. High levels are nice, but I've visited 3-5 house sites/towns trying to find something beyond my spawn gear only to be run down by 30+ zombies. Just a little to many.
