That trinity will only last you until your water is blinking. You need a canteen and that trinity then you're set. -

DayZ Tutorial: How to get geared up quickly
Gulmari replied to [email protected]'s topic in New Player Discussion
5 high value residential spawns in SE cherno... i tend to stay away from those apartment buildings becuase the hospital there is highly frequented, and the industrial area there with tall buildings is prime for snipers. The residential spawns are better because they're away from the church, supermarket, and firestation making them much safer to look for gear. Also you can find ghillies and camo in those buildings quite often. I usually leave cherno with map, matches, axe, knife, compass, watch, enfield, 1911 and more than enough food and liquid to last a while. -
Am i right in thinking player count is dropping??
Gulmari replied to aphex187's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Ah a whiny little hacker makes his appearance. I'm glad people like you don't actually read anything. He wasn't "beat" by anything. The hackers are making people not play this game anymore. It has nothing to do with getting shot in the face in cherno and everything to do with being teleported to thunderdome and being blown away by a full auto 203. -

Currently have the bizon and mags on me. I do not have access to a vehicle and am logged out pretty far up north so if we meet up it would have to be somewhere up there. Not saying like stary or the NWAF but i don't have access to a vehicle right now as my main server is offline and i logged near our camp up there.

Guy who shot me @NWAF N Barracks last night.

Hard to find is a relative term... i think the M4 SD is hard to find becuase i have literally never seen one ever. I have multiples of every other weapon in the game and have never seen one single M4 SD. Yet people find those like crazy at the barracks. BTW i have 5 sets of NVG's and i've never server hopped or loot cycled. Just find a downed heli kill the zeds loot the pilots and check the ground. Keep doing that and you'll find a bunch of NVG's. Finding a downed heli is kind of difficult sure but its far safer and has much better results on the nvg's since the pilots and the heli itself can drop them. -
Trading: Ghillies, M4a1 CCO SD, M24, NVG, and Coyote BP

Its not a privilege to host a server. The server admins are doing Rocket and his staff a favor and Rocket just shites all over them. Punishing admins and server hosters for trying to police their respective servers is ridiculous. Rocket put together a mod for an already existing game. He needs information from testing to work out bugs and glitches in said MOD. The only way he gets that information is if people host servers for him to collect the data from. Regardless of how many servers there are he NEEDS that data. People volunteer to host servers for him and he should be thanking them. Instead what we get is Rocket and his "vision" putting a stranglehold on server hosts and allowing massive amounts of douchebaggery from the childish playerbase. A player can come on your server and tell you to "F off", ghost into your base steal all your crap, and send everyone else to the land of thunderdome. If you kick him he can come here to the forums and cry then your server gets blacklisted.

TS3 even tells you that some anti cheat software detects the overlay as a "hack" which could get you banned and you are to use it at your own risk. He risked it the anti cheat software thought it was a threat and banned him.

Honestly the servers are owned and operated by people not Rocket or his staff. If he wants 24/7 uptime he can front the money for the servers and pay the staff of admins to be on that server 24/7. Without admins chaos ensues and hackers run rampant. Rocket runs the game portion. Meaning stuff inside the game (zombies, equipment, weapons, etc) are his portion on this 2 way street. People who pay for a server have the say on when that server is online period. The locking of a server is an issue because it makes it a single player or LAN game and not an online multiplayer game. As long as when the server comes up its open to the public, it won't be a violation of the TOS.

how does it give them an advantage? They aren't able to go around looting anything while the server is down...anyone that plays on the server and has camps on the server is at the same advantage as the hosts themselves. Locking the server gives the host advantages in the fact that they can go around looting everything without any consequences. Bringing the server down prevents hackers from destroying everyones crap not just the hosts. Don't be a whiny bandit cuz you can't get free loots from one server because they decide to take the server offline. While the server is up bandits constantly raid their camp. Their camp is on high alert or lockdown most of the day while its online because of bandits. They don't rollback the server just because bandits raid their stuff. They don't shut the server down and restart when they get shot at. They shut the server down when server numbers are low and no admins are online. That means that GMS personell that aren't admins could be online when the server gets shut down. No admins means that hackers can come in and teleport everyone to the stupid thunderdome and no one could fix it.
