when you turn on the computer, quickly press the key that takes you to BIOS (Delete usually) Don't mess with things you don't understand in there, just look for 'onboard peripherals' menu, disable onboard graphics, press F10 (or select save and exit with mouse if you have one of those Bios) to save and exit, the PC will now boot everytime without the onboard GFX chip and use the ATI.

actually, someone on our TS came up with a very good point, vanilla used to grant us a makorov. It is a false sense of security if used unwisely with so little ammo, but you can instantly defend yourselves from somebody with gear you happen to bump into. It should also increase player interaction if they desire it, hear a makorov shooting, and you can go investigate. Could be someone who needs help, could be a murder in progress. -

you need both to play DayZ mod, there used to be a workaround in its early days where you could use Arma2 OA and Arma2 demo and use dayz commander to compile the files but I don't think that works anymore? -
you have messed with gfx options so goto my documents/dayz and delete the profile/cfg that is using the settings, that's why reinstalling didn't help. Your profile is saved in my documents.

have you changed antivirus lately? sometimes they will quarantine game exe as false positive (omg I have posted this suggestion to 3 threads tonight I feel like someone in a call centre lol) If it is the AV, even redownloading/verifying will not make the game run, you need to have a look in quarantine section of AV, find the game exe and set it free, goto scanning/realtime protect options and exclude the steam folder, now try to run game.

yeah sometimes AV throw up false positives on Game.exe's, goto scanning options and exclude steam folder and re-download/verify -
if they are on the public hive, yes if they are on private hive, no .... unless they are on a shared hive, some GSP's offer their own hives so you can jump between several servers with that GSP. Musty dayz mod servers share the same hive (*pimp - click on the picture in my sig then goto server tab :))
