in dense woodland not near towns or travel routes, Plant them either between 2 conifers that are close together or at the base of a conifer close to trunk (something you need to get the knack of as somtimes after a restart they aren't accessible) Also, some of the servers tents may still have the duping bug:- you plant a tent, put a rifle and some food in it, server restarts, you put some more gear in it, server restarts - its back to having just the original rifle + food so you may not actually be getting raided.

I've been playing DayZ a good while and I used to get these kicks every now and then and like the other guy I just used to retry. Last game properly was last night without problems, now I am having a nightmare! I noticed when I booted PC up this afternoon there was a steam update. Get around to playing earlier and just keep getting kicked for random PBO/mission files/trees it could be anything it's as though it can't be arsed finding out what the fault is so makes something up lol. Win7 64 pro steam versions of: Arma2, Arma3 alpha, Arma2:OA, (and beta) and Private military company DLC. tried upgrading to steam client beta to see if that helps but it doesn't. :(

try mine, myself, other admins/regulars make it little missions to completely destroy badly damaged vehicles and then I run the create vehicle script in control panel so more vehicles spawn on restart

I bought the alpha today on steam, I have only had one little go, the chopper training and the infantry training. The latter seemed like I was playing ghost recon advanced warfighter?

actually I was a bit tipsy last night, I retract the above post :P couple of tips though: if you want to bump your server thread, add some news like "server just restarted with x amount of vehicles" and make your sig clickable to gametracker link (the url forum code is on gametracker to link sig :) )

^that depends if his server is full on private. Mine is on the vilayer hive and I get players connecting fully tooled up quite often, they could just be tooled up from another server on the same hive.

my pc has been overclocked since I built it in oct 2009 lol obviously if you do no research then yeah you will cook your components, but a bit of common sense and googlesearch is your friend.

*exiting chopper spawns you inside chopper (was a hind in my case), then you move and die - work around for this is to hold W whilst exiting chopper *after dying from above I found myself dangling above the sea like I was on a bungee going from dipping my toes in water to 12ft above water repeatedly (somebody on server suggested this could be a hero skin bug and could be unrelated to chopper death) server in my sig

I am reasonably happy with my server so far after 3 months, it runs on the vilayer hive so it's not full blown private but a good medium I think. I took over the 'trickery.net' name from another guy from our community who has got himself snowed under with work so we made a fresh start with me running it 3 months ago. The first month we had a few problems and vilayer recognized this and added a week to our rental, fair play to them. I log on this morning to see the server down, go into ACP to see 'server status: unknown' so I raised a ticket to see what is going on. ok fair enough but an email warning of this happening would have been nice. Do other providers do this alot? what alternatives are there for a similar service? (UK) I'm not sure we want to go full on private, I am quite happy being on the vilayer public hive. during the 3 months we do seem to have had a bit of downtime and hive related problems (tents/vehicles/spawning on the coast) but much of that seemed to be resolved (apart from the server doesn't spawn anywhere near as many vehicles as we would like, even after running out of bounds clear up and create vehicle scripts in admin control panel) I'm not totally unhappy with vilayer but on the flipside I am trying to build up a player base and just as we get a new group of players something like this happens (last time it was moving onto a new hive followed by stuff not saving) Just want to hear a bit of feedback from other players who made the move to another provider, or have a similar service from another provider :)

yay, got my response and server fixed!

hmm, received an email saying downtime expected early next week while they move stuff AGAIN. so I think ok, only be a few hours, a day or two tops. Update my server to latest release today and now the server won't start, raised a ticket this afternoon, no response and a downed server. looks like with this and the 'expected' downtime due I am not overly happy :(

most bandits I see on my server just log in, log out, hours pass, log in, kill someone, log out, day passes, log in, kill 2 people, log out..and its usually in the timeframe of the combat indicator to stop flashing that they log out/change server. What is the fecking point? does this make you some leet bandit god that everybody fears? ? NO, just makes them a bit lame tbh, if you are going to be a bandit then stick around and be a bandit, not a shitbag who disconnects/swaps servers.

I often lose connection to mumble while playing DayZ, it says ingame that I am losing connecton but about a minute later I just reconnect to mumble. It's quite funny sometimes as like tonight I was flying a hind and when it said I was losing connection you just hear the chopper doors go and my passenger(s) bail and I have to pick them up again lol I'm on 60mb virgin cable btw, I just put it down to Virgin being naff in peak, which they usually are.

some are just crap or can't be arsed with the looting/setting camps, so they just snipe new spawns for thrills
