probably less chance of getting robbed on my server as the loot table have been slightly altered by one of my admins to make it more worthwhile visiting barracks etc, nothing more disappointing than taking such a risk getting to the barracks and finding M1014's, binoculars and tin cans lol -
they don't disappear if you keep interacting with them

surely viewdistance would compensate? My rig is fairly old (phenom x4 3.6, 4 gig ram, 2 x 5770) and I agree with enforcing at least medium settings, If you struggle a bit on medium you could just sacrifice some viewdistance? -

what is dayz sfx? have you installed every kind of dayz from dayz commander or something? -

when you verify gamechache of each arma game you also need to run each game, yu cant just install everything without running it first and jump straight into dayz. Exit steam, right click, run as administrator. verify game cache of every arma 2 game and DLC run arma 2 run arma 2 OA run any DLC run dayz mod (may aswell download dayz mod through steam http://store.steampowered.com/app/224580/ ) lauch dayz mod from steam and select use beta patch when prompted use ingame browser. -

try launching from steam (selecting launch with beta patch when prompted by steam) and using the ingame browser. -

I recently installed the powerplants addon to my server which adds some light to towns at night, I haven't got around to being on the server at the right time to see it yet though lol (other players on server say its working)
