I honestly think a newbie will get himself into more trouble with a gun then he would without one. Besides, learning how to arm yourself is part of the fun of DayZ. Nothing is sweeter than spending your first day sans-weapon and then finally picking up an enfield, or a revolver, or if you were really lucky, an assault rifle. -

It'll regenerate back up to 2500 if you can make it for a few hours without murdering anyone else. And for gods sake, if you want M4 ammo, go to an airfield. Cherno is for industrial loot, clothes, tents, and griefing. -
As a fun sidenote, you can give yourself camo paint if you're willing to go into your save file in notepad.

1st person only, waypoints, what more?

What's the point in a GPS when you can set waypoints and see your location on the map? Third person is cheap for letting you look around corners and over walls, but eesh. those two basically make a top tier item useless. -
You can use hacked weapons if you aren't the hacker yourself you know. Those are peculiar weapon choices though. An Acog on an M4? That's almost wasteful.

Kuru would have spread if they had eaten any part of the victim, the brain was just the part that was eaten, as part of a ritual. Cow meat, if tainted, can cause Cruezfeldt-Jakobs disease. The thing is, all prion diseases have massive incubation times. Often they don't kick in for decades, after exposure.

I die mostly from ganks. Zombies are almost entirely a non-threat. Hackers don't show up on my servers, luckily, and if they do, I alt-F4 on the spot. There's nothin I can do though when Mr Bush-with-rifle pops up ten feet away from me and unloads a 30 round stanag clip into my chest.

He's probably talking about prion diseases. They're rare, but can be spread by eating tainted meat, in the case of Kuru, the brain of an infected victim.

Despite having all the signs of a bandit, he operated in good faith. One blood transfusion and a pair of night vision goggles later, my faith in humanity is slightly restored. :) I even got a bicycle out of it, though I can't use it thanks to my slowpoke partner complaining about my constantly getting ahead of me already. >> -

The scroll wheel menu might help you out. Otherwise, you could petition the team to reset the position of your character. -

I stick to low pop servers for the most part. The bandits are still there, but it's far more manageable, and the gear is normally legit. -
Actually, currently Intel produces superior processors for a similar price. I'm a fan of AMD and ATI products myself (Been using Radeons for years), but I go with the better value over brand loyalty.

They have the same rarity and similar levels of usefulness. And they've both been duped beyond measure. I could probably trade my CZ 550 for one.

There are actually more women on the internet than men right now actually. You likely won't see many women in game though, since it's a mechanical disadvantage. No camouflage or wookie suits, no hero or bandit skin, and they always seem to get shot at first in groups.

Night servers aren't too bad. You just need a bullet monkey to run out with a flare and draw all the fire/zombies.

Maybe ask the playerbase for help? Some of us are near the coast with bags full of blood bags and morphine just lookin for poor shot up newbies. ;) -
Take the M24. Trade the SVD for NVGs. Find a DMR. Shoot the crap out of anyone with a balaclava.
