This was a while back, but while I was scrounging the coast as a newbie, I happened to run across a corpse on the outskirts of Chernogorsk. It had a czech pack, a Lee Enfield and a M9. Fantastic find for my second day. A few minutes later, while in the middle of cherno, I found myself trapped in the fire station, out of pistol ammo. At this point I decided to fire the Enfield. I think we all know how that one ended.

Last night while the medics were patchin me up, I found a tent with night vision FN FALs, plenty of ammo, and various other funsies. I can't get back in to loot it and grab the rest (What's script restriction 40?), but I still made out with a L85 and M240. Which are, admittedly less useful for me as a survivor than a they would be for a bandit, but they should make good trading stock.

On a similar note, what is battleye script restriction #40?

Because medics die for good when you shoot them? They have bodyguards. A supply chain. Plenty of equipment. Enjoy being a minor annoyance?

I avoid-on-sight for the most part. If I see you in close quarters, and you got the jump on me, I'll open fire out of necessity. If I get the drop on you (normal) I'll ask whether you're friendly or not. If you say no, I'll just toss a smoke grenade or two to cover my escape and peace out.

It's less a matter of realism and more a gameplay consideration. When was the last time you ever used an Assault Pack? Or a Czech Vest Pouch? Czech packs only retain minor use for their camouflage, for the most part it's just Coyotes and Alices.

A sad day today. My server had to do an emergency restart while I was working on my tent. It ate a DMR with eight mags, and an AS-50 with four mags. A truly sad day indeed. Addendum. I think backpacks need to be reworked. Maybe make it so you spawn with the Czech Vest Pouch, and make it so that the Assault Packs and Coyote Patrol Packs are common spawns, while the Czech pack is a rare spawn in residentials, and the coyote and Alice pack are only found at military instillation. Something to make the smaller packs (Assault, Coyote, Czechs) more than just wasted code.

Getting to the airfield's not the hard part. It's staying alive once you get there that's tricky.

I'd by lying if I said I didn't wish it'd stay, but I can understand why they'd remove it. Still, it's going to mean using blood bags a lot more often when I'm not entirely sure how much into the black and white I am.

Why stop at soda? I want to find beer in those houses. All those empty whiskey bottles are taunting me.

This is why even though I'm not a bandit, I keep high powered rifles around. You can't Alt-F4 out of an M14 shot to the back of the head.

I hang out at the NW airfield and I have 4960 Humanity. You don't get that low without either buckshotting people to death, or seriously causing a ruckus.

PDW is fantastic. Just never try to fire it on full auto. That thing climbs so hard you'd be lucky to hit a target twice at 25 meters.

There is a certain suicidal beauty in watching someone try to flame a moderator. It's like watching a guy try to stop a freight train.

Grenades don't inflict structural damage, if memory serves. The only devices in game capable of inflicting structural damage are satchel charges and rocket launchers

You find kids that irritating? Here, take my ASK-74 Kobra. You know what to do with it.

On the other hand, bandit attacks are less common, seeing as the only scoped weapon that functions properly at night is the DMR. Theoretically. AS-50 TWSs aside.

My first friendly player encounter was immediately followed by my having to shoot that player in a super market after he fired on me.

I have no murders, but I do have a few bandit kills. Does that count?

I'd love a vehicle, but between them resetting on server restart, and the vehicle hoarding, I'm resigned to never finding one.
