1.) How can a MODDER be made responsible for exploits caused by the base game? You can only do so much against it, and fixing exploits in the game engine itself just isn't possible. Trust me. 2.) I also get the feeling from al the threads popping up that hacking's getting worse, BUT it also seems that everyone who got killed assumes that he's a hackers victim - and that's just plain stupid paranoia. So keep your cool, this mod had a huge explosion in popularity and popularity draws in idiots (= hackers and all-time-noobs who want /godmode) - that's the internetz for you. They'll go away when they get bored, hacking just is no long time fun.

This, plus if he has seen you once and you never came out of that building - well, after some time (and 15 minutes is sure enough) I would just try it and shoot that spot I've seen you last for a crawling position.

Haha, something similar caused my first death in the game - happened to me on top of a lighthouse, glitched through the guard rail and died :D Big talk for someone who clearly has no clue at all about a proper development process. Just to let you know: ALPHA means features are being added, features are being removed. Until the list of features is set in stone, it's an Alpha. Then, when it's up to just bug fixing, performance testing, etc. it's called a BETA. Having "open" Alpha or Beta has nothing to do with the development process (except stress testing at the latest stages of Beta, because you normally won't have enough people for a decent stress test), it's simply an accomodation for the community. This is still just Alpha and it's just due to Rockets good-will that we all can already enjoy the mod. So, most stupid thing about this game has to be all these "experts" on the forum. -

You're talking textbook definition of Zombies and realism in the same post? Dafuck? Zombies are whatever you make them to be - Rocket chose the, for a shooter more compelling, (what I call it) "28 Days Later" style of Zombie . It's just a term. -
Proper "zeroing" might help - lots of youtube videos out there explaining it.

Well, if you now know you're near Pavlovo... seems you've gone south from the pond and seeing that big ass needle to the east (= radio tower on top of Green Mountain). If you want to go north, just look for the main road leaving Pavlovo to the north (as described by Vyncent - paved road, 2 lanes, stripes on it). Keep that road to your right and move along. Try to keep covered in the forrest (you're harder to see that way and won't get sniped in the open). When you have to leave the forrest, just look for the next big landmark - in your case that should be Zelenogorsk (as you have a map, you should be able to chose a nice and easy to see landmark). Again, keep that to your right until you reach the forrest again. Walk the outscirts of the forrest towards Zelenogorsk until you can see the main road again, and start again navigating by keeping the road to your right. Easy going ;) If you get lost, NEVER turn around like crazy. Keep a straight line, you WILL hit something like a road, town, landmark, ... and from there you should find your way again. -

Either go for a swim and lose it there, or get something like Vest Pouches (small backpack), fill it with tin cans and then move everything into the tin can filled backpack - the items should get destroyed then. -

Pond, big ass red-white needle to the east - sounds like you're heading for Green Mountain. I wouldn't go there if I where you ;) Don't worry, navigation skills come with practice. If you can't decrypt the Cyrillic names, just look for buildings, things like ponds and, most important IMO, streets and how they wind through the landscape. -
Seriously, go fucking play CoD or something. DayZ's clearly not the right game for you.

Some servers seem to have tweaked their darkness setting - so on some servers night will be much darker than on others.

I'm having "3D Resolution" set to my desktop res and I got that glitch only once - when I was in Cherno. So I don't think this will prevent the glitch.

Worst thing about barbed wire: there's about just 1 or 2 tiny spots where you can disassemble it. More useless pain in the ass than anything else.

Czech Vest Pouchers - 6 slots (why would anyone consider taking these? either start with it, or remove it completely) Patrol Pack (the starting pack) - 8 slots. Czech Backpack - 12 slots. ALICE Pack - 20 slots. Coyote Pack - 24 slots. Would be nice if half of the ALICE pack spawns would be a new 16 slots pack.

That's why I avoid people. Even if I shouldn't care much about it, because a "geared up" noob will die very soon.

I'm either playing with my buddies or lone wolfing it and therefor avoid other people most of the time. Last night I followed 2 people who where lit up like a christmas tree with flashlight and chemlights as they made a run for the deer stands near Bor - came as close as ~10m and could kill them both but didn't. Followed them just for the thrill, don't think they ever saw me or knew that I was there. I really don't need to team up with anyone other than my buddies. Most of the time it's a reliability to team up with a stranger (not even counting backstabbing), and I survive pretty fine on my own. I would trade though and maybe give a helping hand if someone needs medical attention. So, if you ever see someone with crossbow & Coyote pack, might be me.

Playing with crossbow and aggroed Z's? You're doing it wrong! At daytime I never lost a single bolt that didn't miss - they're quite easy to find in daylight. For nighttime just go prone and crouch into the body - most of the time you'll see a part of the bolt.

The only big issue people have come with the damage nerf for the AK74 variants and sidearms which come from the latest Arma2 patch. And for that Rocket is thinking about a solution afaik. 1.7.2.4 is fine IMO. -
Only "problem" I see is, that everyone is so fucking paranoid now that everybody WILL stab/shoot you in the back for almost nothing, even if they're no bandits and never intended to play as a bandit. Just because everyone expects the other player to do it and it's better to take the first shot. So maybe the problem doesn't come from bandits but from us survivors who have to start trusting each other again? ;)

Everytime I hear shots, I assume it's bandits. Everytime I see a player, I assume he's a bandit. Adds to the atmosphere. Simple as that.
