That's what I call "bad" :) Ever thought of relogging? No? Well, better try it next time.

http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/27604-download-dayz-commander-unofficial-six-launcher-alternative/ DayZCommander can do that, and it's WAY better than that crappy Six Launcher.

Better running anim while holding a flashlight :)
Teiwaz replied to Qev's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
And not a single fuck was given. -
Haha, that's nowhere near "bad". Try relogging, that did it for me most of the time - well, at least as long to get away from wherever that happened (Cherno, Balota Airfield, NW Airfield, Elektro - are places I know of where this glitch is happening).

Can you also magically alter fixed character animations? No? Too bad, we won't have a not moving flashlight then. -
Don't lose interest, and how to get better!
Teiwaz replied to theboat's topic in New Player Discussion
From my experience Zeleno's often a bitch Z wise. Only thing that's really interesting (well, except for the occasional "might get lucky"-ghillie spawn) there is the supermarket, and maybe the bicycle spawn. Other than that most of the time it's not worth the risk IMO. -
Yes. Afaik you need the British Armed Forces(?) DLC for Arma2 to get high-res textures.
-
As for now, every piece of clothing I found did either: -) reset my backpack to the starting Patrol pack (equip clothing while wearing backpack) -) spawn an empty version of the backpack I was wearing on my char So, yeah, definitely still bugged but it doesn't happen always - friend of mine encountered neither when he equipped his ghillie.

You don't ban people (least perma-ban them) just out of suspicion. Don't know if I'm right on that, but is it possible that mostly US servers are harassed by hackers?
-
Could also be an invincible/invisibility hack. But probably he just ghosted you (logged out, joined another server, there he walked behind your position and relogged to your server).

Does this game save two different character's for you?
Teiwaz replied to Dr. Disco's topic in New Player Discussion
Simple question, simple answer: no, you can't have multiple characters per Arma2 copy. So, if you own 2 copies of Arma2, you actually CAN have 2 characters. What happened to you? Hm, maybe the second server wasn't connected to the Hive (that's the DayZ database server) and therefor created a "new" character that's only saved on that particular server. Can't think of another reason, but if you know which server that was, try logging in - when you're again not where you think you should be, and got that stuff from that second character, it's a non-hive server you're connecting to. -
If you get it to work (editor with DayZ that is) - please tell me how you did it :) I failed, but I didn't really put much effort into it (I could spawn Z's but they didn't show up in the preview). Want to do a nice shooting range myself.

Mission: Success. Good work!

Yeah, I'm with Teach here - sounds like really bad lag/server issues. Used water bottles today and they where fine.

1.) Yes, they have. You either take our words for it or...still just ignore it. 2.) BI CEO himself said they reduced the damage output of this kind of ammo + Rocket said he's not messing with BI's weapons "balance". 3.) If you don't experience it: a) you're Arma2 is not up to date. b. you're headshotting every Z - headshots are still one-shot-kills. c) you're playing on a custom server/custom DayZ version (not quite sure how it could be reversed server side, as I don't know anything about Arma2 modding) d) you're experiencing a convenient bug. e) have a somewhat "hacked" gun. f) something I can't think of yet. I, for myself, know that my 1911 stopped one-shotting Z's after my Arma2 was updated to 1.62. Same goes for friends who used the Revolver and are now pumping almost 2 Makarov mags into 1 Z to kill it. Also, for me, it's enough "evidence" reading that that many people are having the same "issue" + having BI CEO saying they reduced the damage of those bullets (but didn't mention it in the changelog). If you still need more "proof", that's your problem, not mine. You asked for an official announcement, that I gave you.

Hackers - What you need to know.
Teiwaz replied to DarkRaven123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Well, I might be a bit biased on that, but that's how I experienced it in more of a decade in online gaming. Just to point it out once more: I totally agree with you, that everyone has the right to address his opinion (in a, most of the time, civilized manner though). Sure thing, but what some people just don't get is that (and that is an assumption on my part) DayZ's dev team's hands are mostly bound on the issue of hacking. Sure, blame the stewardess (sticking to the airplane example) for the drunk pilot, but that won't change anything. The stewardess can't fly the plane. For the "one big developer" thing. That's always a possibility with a mod and you can't do shit about it. Rocket has the bonus of BI aknowledging the success and value of DayZ, so I personally am not to scared about that. -
Hackers - What you need to know.
Teiwaz replied to DarkRaven123's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Best read I had so far on that topic in this forum. Beans for you. And that's one of the main problems. Every average Joe thinks he knows what exactly the problem is and how it could be fixed ("ban the hackers", "fix your code", etc.) - and normally they demand it to be done yesterday. If you don't know much about airplanes except that they fly, would you tell the pilot how he's supposed to do it? Don't think so. Sure, you can say what's on your mind, and yes you surely have the right to say what you think is going wrong and how you think the problem can be fixed, but if someone tells you "sorry, you're wrong...these are the problems you generally have with hacking & anti-cheating" - just think about that for some time and cool down. Making a mass of threads like "FIX YOUR FUCKING CODE, RETARD IDIOT!" is 1) plain stupid, 2) childish behaviour, 3) rude and 4) it doesn't help anyone. This is not meant as a personal insult to you or something, don't get me wrong. It's just a general advise not pointed at anyone in particular to listen to those people who know what they are talking about (yes, I know - it's the internetz for you). Fixing exploitable code (normally) is hard as shit and takes time. No developer is happy about the fact that it's there, and every developer want's his code to work as intended (well, at least I want that). Patience is a virtue. [edit] And what do you think they should say? "We know, but it's not our problem as we can't do anything about it"? - mass rage shitstorm incoming. "It's being worked on"? - now the forum get's flooded with "DONE YET?!" threads. "Hacking's cool! We like it" - ahm, yeah... trolling much? "We don't care"? - ah, come on, they DO care. It doesn't matter what you say, it's always the wrong choice. And believing that nothing is done about it, well, I'd call that a dumb assumption. [/edit] -
Not sure if trolling or just fucking blind...
-
Dude, it's all over this forum and the Arma2 forum. A magnitude of people have confirmed it, if you still don't believe it, be my guest, but it's just ignorant. But I found you this: http://forums.bistud...l=1#post2196356 Happy?

Main weapon - 10 slots Sidearm - 5 slots Tent - 3 slots Be careful with the ammo though, the engine want's to move the ammo as well - so if you have (f.e.) an AKM + 4 mags and you want to put that into your pack, you actually need 14 slots. Otherwise you can't be sure you're not losing something when transfering your weapon. [edit] Also from my experience it's more safe to swap weapons OUT of the pack, not INTO the pack. [/edit]

There's also a hack where they can teleport right next to you. Got gunned down by one tonight. Sucks pretty hard, I finally found myself some NVG's this night. Pretty pissed right now, but I'm trying to see the good part of it - I finally can start a male charakter so I can wear a ghillie suit, and I'm not "uber-geared" compared to my friends who died lately (on by being careless around Z's, the other one got killed by a bush he was crawling into).
-
Still bugged, backpack reset to starting pack.
-
Definitely not.

Hurt much? Or did you get used to it?
