There is no etiquette. What some people USED to do, when tents were practically raining from the sky, was to put one in the middle of Elektro or something, and throw some blood, bandages in there, etc. Nothing wrong with helping someone out. If I stole anything from a tent, I'd usually leave something mildly useful behind.

I don't understand. People seem to still be playing this game, but I can't see how with this tent bug. Everything came back last night, and gone again this morning. Some have reported that it's an errant mission file on the server, other have reported it is just a problem with the version. Maybe there are some servers out there this isn't happening on? Can someone advise which server they play on that tents work properly on? (current version)

In that case, remove the bone-healing morphine and gut-repairing bandages at once!

Nah. You can still play just surviving. I refuse to murder other people who are just trying to survive, so when I get bored, I just disappear for a couple of months. That seems to work.

I am seeing this as well. Exact order: place tent. Love life. Server restarts... tent disappears. Server restarts again, tent comes back. Play with tent. Server restarts, tent disappears. Restarts again, tent returns. Find vehicle. Bring back to my hidey-hole. Stop playing. Server restarts. Vehicle disappears. Server restarts again, vehicle comes back. It's almost like I am being messed with, for the sheer LULZ of it all. Other than that, I like the patch. But DAMN.

Does anyone know how to get the compass and GPS down to size? I think what happened was... I accidentally hit the + on the numpad, and it changed the field of view. I figured out how to get everything looking OK again (with the FOV) but the compass and GPS are absolutely gigantic. Pics later if anyone needs. THANKS!!

Good luck Kaspa, with what everyone else basically said. Only thing I will add is that the entire area is huge. Plan on taking a while to get there, and taking a while to get from one end to the other. And if you are trying to be stealthy, it will take even longer. The only real downside is that if someone else is already there, two things are guaranteed: 1) They already got the good stuff, and 2) They will kill you with it. May as well leave.

One reason would be to punish mindless banditry and encourage working together.

Just played again for the first time in months. I spent the entire time - no exaggeration - the ENTIRE time, looking for animals to kill and eat. I came back to see the full changelog and was surprised to see how little blood certain meats give you. It's OK for me, but I can see this getting very tiresome for most bandit-centered folks out there.

Woah - hold on a second. I have tried this on COUNTLESS crappy games I have bought on Steam. I have never even been met with so much as a courteous reply, never mind an actual refund. What magical turns of phrase did you have to use to convince Steam support to be reasonable about this?

Same here. Can't play on any public hive server. I can join to the player list screen, then after the Loading..., it knocks me out saying that the server is running an incorrect version. The error message is erroneous. I was on Arma 2 98866 and dayz 1.7.4.4 I have upgraded to 99153. Reinstalled 99153 reinstalled DayZ 1.7.4.4 The servers I am trying are all 1.7.4.4, and 99153. I have created a new profile and tried to connect as well to no avail. I have read that this is a problem where my CD key data is corrupt within the hive and that, short of a tech support miracle, this will not be fixed. Private hive OK.

Wow man, that was a great video. Totally successful looting run, almost all for naught when you had to take cover at that bus stop. Well-done in every way.

Some of which may well be password protected. Find out the name of the group that runs it, find a website, register etc. to get the password.

I think it took me about a month, though I did see a bus speeding through a town once. I was just running along and a bicycle was sitting there right in front of me. Other than that, what everyone else said. Even relying on server restarts won't work until the 'claimed' vehicles in question are either destroyed or languish for more than 7 days I believe.

I still have an L85 on me on my public hive game. If servers upgrade to 1.7.4, does the L85 disappear, or does the game become "I Am Legend", where the L85 is the Legend?
