    What is the current Bandit skin? Is it just the reddish headwrap? For some reason I seem to remember a version having removed it entirely but it may have returned. The last time I was near a bandit, he was in a ghillie and I could hear his heartbeat. That was a while ago, so was it during the no-more-bandit-skin era, or was it covered by the ghillie? So many questions, I know... :)

    It can take a while to get the Hero Skin. You can go with that as a reward. Also, some people say it's faster when running, but I don't know about that.

    What they said about private hives. One way to tell is to look at the server name in DayZ Commander. If there is a little cloud with an X in it to the extreme left side of the server name, then it is a server that is not connected to the main hive. Therefore, it keeps its own track of your progress. I have a few private hives I play on, just as a change of pace, but remember that the less popular ones can disappear tomorrow. For some reason, not all private hives have the little X-Cloud thingy. Can't explain it. Just quit it and try another one.

    New players will still miss the stickies. It's weird, but I still run into players who claim they do not use these forums and have never registered. Don't ask me how they got the game installed. So now the message is in the game. I love the wording, saying not to download stuff from YouTube.

    I just ran through a field that had 11 (ELEVEN) crashed helis. They don't spawn 3 anymore, or even 7. A few versions back, they made a change that they don't just pop up at server restart (it was 7 total no matter what I believe), but instead pop up randomly based on users on the server and time the server has been up. Servers that restart twice a day do not get very many chopper crashes. Also they do spawn in the South. Anywhere there's enough room. They can be found just north of the road that crosses Cherno, for one.

    OP: Yes. They are supposed to be common, but I rarely find them. And that's never at their spawn points, so I end up stealing someone's. And I always lose those pesky rascals after logging out.

    Tysonn, this thread is a demonstration from which we all learn 2 things: 1) Server owners and admins can see where your stuff is. I have been saying this for a while now. Every server. Every admin on that server. Every tent. Every vehicle. 2) The DayZ forum community is still chock full of asshole trolls.

    When this thread was originally posted, ghillies were fairly rare. Now, I am tripping over them. Crash sites and any residential place will have them. Any server that has been up for more than 8 hours will have likely countless crash sites. Play your usual servers (yes most players have more than one server they play on. Never mind the sudden bitching) and you'll find one tonight.

    Assuming we're talking about more than the first 10 where I was all "wait, I can't punch? Wait, this knife does nothing? Wait, I have to reload this hatchet??" I don't know. A lot. Here's why: if you get cocky, and slightly unlucky... once you have more than 2 on you + bleeding, you are as good as done if you are in a field or not close enough to a building you can enter. Stop to bandage, they catch up and the damage gets compounded. Yes, Zombies are 'easy', until somehow 2 of them get a crack at you. 1 lucky hit and you're bleeding, 1 more, and your leg is broken.

    /pulls up a chair Ghoul_Life: I think you will find what you want at BB. You need to be on TeamSpeak to be on it though, it's daytime 24/7, and if you so much as spawn on the coast and try to scare off a zombie with a bandage, you will find yourself getting shot. But their admins are good and there are vehicles. (No dogs or removable vehicle parts). Also, all server admins with proper server access can know exactly what is going on, where, and can modify it. Accept it and enjoy the apocalypse.

    Hi Loke, I have never seen a video. I just posted elsewhere that in the last year of playing, I have only just found my first set of NVG. They were on the ground, about 15 feet off the middle of the starboard side of a huey. I stopped bothering with NWAF. I wouldn't be surprised if I have been to 1000 crash sites in the year, and killed at least double that in pilots. Nada. To do that, you have to play on several servers. If that's hopping, then it's another bad DayZ term for it.

    Trying to beat a hasty retreat out of a town in a TRACTOR, I hit some crap in the street. I was somehow going fast enough to get ejected from the vehicle - which I didn't think was possible - passed out and got attacked, died. F-ing washing machines.

I know you can customize your character right now under the Profile I believe. If you are asking about the Stand Alone, you got me. Probably statik is right, but there's just too much information there to pull out one little bit of info. Somebody must know, I'm sure.

    Chopper fuel

    I've had the leak, then repaired em to 100%, fueled em up, didn't leak anymore. Used em for a little and got noticeable cracks on the windshield. I had the option to repair some glass (in yellow, not red), and it still held. This happened with the big cargo chopper and the huey. So, it can happen that if you do all the homework first, you will be rewarded with leniency on the glass later. Good luck! (carrying 50 panes of glass from wherever you find them to wherever the chopper is.)

    Do not try to get out of trouble by shooting the first Makarov you find. Don't try to engage Zs unless you have a clear way out. Zig zag through pine trees (the ones that go all the way to the ground) to lose a tail of Zs. Avoid people. Read tutorials on the insane game mechanics and inventory. That's all you need to know!
