My uncharacteristically short response: You should be fine.

Your stuff is gone. Just move on. Of course this is hours after the fact, but I'd be right even 30 minutes after the fact.

LOL nice. Did it get rid of items in the tents though? Side note: it totally sucks that the tents and razor wire didn't get demolished as well. I tried to clear some space in a building that was all wired up with a grenade and I found out it doesn't do much.

Elektro, SW firestation. 20 minutes ago. Nice work dude. Thanks for the transfusion and for scaring the living crap outta me!

Stuck on Loading Screen - Spawn on Coast - Sniper takes me out... Eff this game
HMS replied to ZePlague's topic in New Player Discussion
You are probably the sanest among us! How did you know this is what happened? If you recall, do you know what version server you were trying to join (beta included) and the one you were running? I found that I would get stuck on loading screens a lot when these things happened. -
EDIT: FOUND IT - If you ever drop below 0, you gain a bandit skin. You have to go back to 2000 before you lose your bandit skin and get your survivor skin back. Additionally, if you're over 5000 humanity you get a hero skin. And if any of this is relevant to the female skin? Thanks.

Sounds like you are adapting nicely. I am glad you are sticking with it and trying things differently. Send me a message on the forum here and we'll try to hook up sometime. I got too much stuff in my pack anyhow. :)

Hi Elwin, and welcome. You ask a very specific question as to whether you are doing it right. I believe you are. But you just have to make sure you are within 100m for voice / 80m for text (or vice versa). Those are the only 2 methods in-game of communication. The game will eventually evolve to fit the theme of post-(or during)-apocalyptic reality more realistically, or players will lose interest and it will die. Even if you have a clan of 10, fully geared up, racing alcohol-fueled funny cars... WHAT THEN? Well there really isn't much fun in killing Zombies, so they kill other survivors. Sometimes they need to, sometimes they are just trigger-happy. That is not good for the game. And if enough player base reaches that level, it will make the game completely unbelievable. But, as many have said, you need to have the constant threat of a bullet in the back because that's what the world has turned to. But as I have said in a few threads, when you are literally surrounded by literally infinite packs of flesh-eating monsters, the last thing you should be doing is hunting people, even if they are carrying super-rare laser cannons and remote-controlled killer Roombas. Much less a poor dude with 2 bandages and a rusty can. It's just not prudent or worth it. And the kill-or-be-killed "I used to help but now I learned my lesson and will shoot you" is just as bad. They are totally doing it wrong. Avoid Zombies. Avoid people. If you find someone who needs help, help them. If you offer assistance over chat, voice or text, and you get no response, you need to very carefully asses the situation. <--- THIS IS FUN. Do it over the mic. Within 100m they will hear you. If you have them in your sights and they aren't talking, a reminder that they are in your sights will get them to talk. If they give you tough guy smack talk, like you read among the forum posts across this mod, do us all a favor and kill for giving sass. Welcome to the world after Z. It sucks! Try to survive!

And even if you don't lose them all, if you can get to another clearing, you should be far enough away from the original herd that if you need to (or just WANT to) let the zombies feed on some hot lead, you can do it out there without calling even more Zs from the original town. Even the Enfield will not be loud enough to be a danger (from Zombies) once you get far enough from the town, so you can actually shoot stuff again after not firing a shot for possibly weeks.

I have no idea what you are referring to. Maybe you thought Hugge was suggesting that you scan the map or something? We'll never know. Either way, I could probably think of 30 more constructive ways you could have expressed your thoughts, Thinker. LOL

I got lucky with the CZ rifle. It was in a deer stand. It was perfect for what I wanted it for, but out of 1000+ deer stands and/or barns I hit, I only ever found one. Oh well. It does the trick just fine. Cows, Zombies, and other players with the temerity to take silly risks like fighting the one other person who can help them in a zombie apocalypse all go down nice and quietly with it.
-
Totally. I've been noticing this since this past weekend. I recommend using DayZ Commander exclusively if you are having issues so you can look back at the lists of servers you were on, and seeing if you can figure it out. For me it was a combo of mod version and beta version. If they both didn't match exactly, I'd have to end task at loading. As of today, however, I can join anything (so long as it's 1.7.2.5).
-
There are dozens, if not billions, of threads regarding this exact issue since this past weekend alone. You will see several posts with full step-by-step explanations on how to ATTEMPT to fix this. They are all different. If you are still having trouble, please take note of your mod version, your beta version, and the versions (of both) of the servers you are having problems on, and we'll see if we can help you from there. Good luck!
-
Original Poster: What version of the beta are you on? So many threads for so many variants on this issue... Look through the other ones in this forum and on troubleshooting and start from there. When you finally think you have it down, and you still can't connect, post back here with the names of the servers, the versions they claim to be running, and the version you are running, etc. This will not be easy.
-
Are you positive it's all servers? Try 1.7.2.4 and .5. Try different versions of the beta on both versions of the mod. You might want to see a post by user holyterror who had similar frustrations and what he did to fix. Either way, a nice sticky post by the devs addressing or acknowledging this issue would be sweet. Good luck.

Stuck on loading screen fixed and graphics bugs still persists!
HMS replied to kyle939's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
We just played on a 95819 server - at least, that's the title. The server version according to D Commander is 95824. Well, I was able to join, unlike what happened last night. Well, I am not going to bother trying to figure this out for now. If it's working... I consider myself lucky! -
Thanks for the detailed info. This is some weird irregularity. On a side note, could these forums be slower? I feel like I am back on dialup. :P

HMS replied to kyle939's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Kyle, have you by any chance tried joining a 1.7.2.5 / 95417 server? Or any other non-95883 server? I am asking because I used to be able to join them all, but now can only join 1.7.2.5/95883. If I try anything else, i get perma-Load. Force-quit. Join 95883, spawn on coast (because of the force-quit I guess). My buddy is completely updated to 1.7.2.5/95883. He manually updated exactly as I did to get on the same version and beta. His game reflects this on the splash screen. He can not join ANYTHING except 1.7.2.4/95417. Nuts. -
To OP: In my small test group, it is not random. It seems random, but there is a common thread. I can make it happen with 100% certainty based on my other post in this thread. That makes me think/hope it is not intended. But that of course is just conjecture until we hear something for sure.

not sure if this goes here or not but im having loading problems
HMS replied to Synapse's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In DayZ Commander, take a look at your History. Take note of the DayZ versions on the servers, the "beta" version for Arma2 on the servers, as well as what you are running on your client. -

Can you pin down whether the servers you were able to join were beta 95417 or 95883? -
I have had this happen to me once or twice. I was able to get out of it by double-tapping the left Shift, and double-tapping W. Sometimes it helps in the process of reversing the polarity of that Shift key. (shift to sprint vs shift to walk). Good luck!
-
Can you tell us what versions of the beta the servers that you are trying to join are running? I'm asking for the ones that work, and the ones that don't. And when you tele-spawn on the coast, is it any time you join a server successfully, or only after you have to quit because you are stuck on Loading?
-
Adding my facts to the troubleshooting here. Version 1.7.2.5, beta 95883 I am only coast-respawning when I end task to get out of perma-load. That only happens on betas before 95883. The only servers I can join now are 95883. If I "server-hop" once or 10 times, I won't coast-spawn, so long as I successfully load into another 95883, and only 95883. My friend is also on 1.7.2.5 / 95883 He has the exact same issue, except the cause of his permaload is the 95883 servers. He can join 95417s all day long, without teleport to coast. Once he hits a 95883, he perma-loads. End-task. Next successful launch will be on the coast. And video glitching was noticed in Balota. Same as last week.
-
This only happens to me when: Stuck on perma-load, I quit. Usually 95417. Join another server, successfully. Always 95883. This does not happen when: Join 95883 server. Quit just because it's time to quit. "Server hop" to another 95883. I am right where I am supposed to be. Based on that experience, this isn't a feature. (good)
