Does it really upset you that much when someone kills you? What about when a hacker Kills you? Why exactly do you like DayZ? Have you tried 'The Secret World'? It's a RPGMMO with zombies in it.

You may be forgetting thousands of years of evolution. According to popular theories, primitive man was originally a hunter/gatherer. If we can believe the scientists, it was soon after we began to cook our meat, that our jaws and teeth grew smaller and our brains grew bigger, most likely because the meat was easier to chew. More energy gained (consuming the cooked meat) from less effort spent (the chewing and digesting of raw meat) perhaps got our ancestors to thinking more and planning more. The spear, the axe, the knife, fire, language and teamwork are all tools to make life easier. Less time hunting and gathering, more time thinking up ways to make life easier. You see where this is going? All animals specialize. Cheetahs are the fastest land animal, yet they can only sprint for short periods. This is a specialization. Current human specialization is abstract thought and adaptability. And as true as your point is, that Homer Zeds wouldn't run like a Jamaican gold medallist, Homer Zed would have died of starvation long before you offered him the opportunity to munch on you. The fast running and physically fit infected, without the ability for abstract thought to rely on, would probably rely on their adaptivity instead. Being more likely to remain alive because of speed and ferocity. Humans are very naturally apex predators.

Actually if I took a gun to the shops I would fully expect to be shot by the police, good thing DayZ is just a game then, huh? When you get abused on a forum, is that a game? Is this phenomenon called 'trolling' that recent generations take so much pride in, a game? My generation call it 'being an asshole', and we used to do it in person. No one would take knives and guns to schools, no one would go to the shops and murder a bunch of strangers, but a lot of assholes had less teeth. My enjoyment in breaking your legs, comes from the satisfaction I can derive from out-smarting you, in a virtual setting. where does the satisfaction from trolling come from? I have even been known to bandage and morphine survivors that are unarmed, after breaking their legs, it's a game, it's fun. After some poor kid commits suicide because they were 'trolled' by their peer group, do they respawn on the coast with another chance for some fun? Bring on the apocalypse, I want to see this world burn. Churchill, Kennedy, Ghandi, Gorbachev, these names mean anything to you? While you all worry about your feelings getting hurt because someone beats you in a video game. Try to imagine a world without video games. You are all playing right into the hands of the fiends that are seeking to divide us and enslave us. When you walk past a stranger in the street, you have no idea what terrible trials and tribulations they might be going through in their life. We are all in the same boat. Be helpful and constructive in real life, save your malicious and evil side for video games.

When this game becomes successful I hope Rocket is smart enough to dump you guys.

Dear OP, Don't worry, this game is full of laughs and giggles, so just enjoy them when you can. This forum however, is full of people who like to call you silly names and try to hurt your feelings. For whatever reasons, I can only guess, but I would think it is because they can do it and hide behind the anonymity of the internet. If they tried it at the local shops, they would soon have no teeth. Personally, I like to aim for the legs, and then watch them bleed out through my binoculars. I tried having a positive humanity, but discovered pretty quickly that zombies respawn faster than the ammo does, people keep finding the vehicles I try to hide, and the server admins hog all the choppers. The Lee Enfield is a fantastic leg-breaker, and they spawn all over the place, as do binoculars. Yours sincerely, Bandit BIO

Kids should definitely not be allowed to play Dayz. They should be banned from supermarkets, Burger King, EB stores, petrol stations and any other public place I may have the chance to come across them. Also, any parents that let their children use a microphone should be sterilised. Server NZ 27 Approx 3pm NZ local time. Friend and I (current incarnation is Raskalnikov) were on a roof in Cherno, we spotted a survivor on the ladder leading up to highest tower. Tags were on and his name was MEII, range at 149m. He disappeared from our view and within 1-2 minutes he was on the roof with us. My buddy (Buckii) I.D'ed him again as he shot the accused (MEII) with a Lee Enfield which did not kill or wound him. I (Raskalnikov) logged out and made this report.

He changed his name to Mr Creep and is currently teleporting us all to various places on the map and spawning large amounts of vehicles. In the beginning everyone was acting quite politely and not shooting. Now it is a free for all and quite hilarious. Giggles aside, please ban the idiot.

Kudos to you for having a conscience. I thought endgame was sitting on sniper hill between Cherno and Elektro, murdering folks. Turns out endgame is playing hide and seek with vehicles in the wilderness. I have given up murdering and regained my humanity. Currently trying to become proficient with the crossbow. Please Rocket, can you put a reflex sight on it?!

1. I hear a voice behind me saying, "ooh thats a nice gun, L85", I hear the grass crunching under feet and scan for a survivor but there is none there, puffs of smoke tell me where he is from a silenced MP5 firing, about 10m from me. I unload into the empty space next thing I am shot to pieces. Funniest part: He says to me, "you fucking hacker," which is doubly hilarious because I picked the L85 up legit. This guy musta got upset cos he couldn't find a tent or a heli crash site and turned to haxoring. 2. I am on TS with a buddy, up around Petrovka, paranoid as hell because it is about 9pm local time but the server only has maybe 12 people on it. I hear something like a humming or a mumbling, I say, "you say something?" to my buddy, he replies in the negative, I log the fuck out. Funniest part: Screenshot the game takes when you log out shows a dude in camo uniform with a red beret on, carrying an AS50 TSW, right next to me, us literally side by side. I am still earning grey hairs. Conclusion: Haxors are pathetic. I love when BE posts a Game Hack Ban. $30 down the drain sucker. Even better when it is a name I recognise and played on the same servers with many times. Since I found an MK 48, and someone stole all the vehicles I stole, I cannot resist climbing on top of stuff to lay waste to zombies. That guy in the ghillie doing that reckless stuff could be me! I am fed up with searching the wilderness for a bicycle or motorbike when all I can find are brightly coloured cars that go 10kmph off-road, easy come, easy go. I do miss the Ural I found at the spawn point tho! It took me hours to fix it. Why it bright blue? *sigh* Be vigilant, be pure, behave!

I can't believe this thread has remained open for so long. Mine get closed much sooner. I am satisfied with what is being done with this mod. I am looking forward to playing the stand-alone. I suggest you all stop calling each other names and show your support or not, the only way we really have, by buying it or not. I also suggest that everyone who plays this game every day (like I do) offer to make a donation to a 'Beer and Whores' fund for Rocket. I will make a donation to that. I am not sure how this could be done as I am morally opposed to PayPal. The guy is living in Prague FFS. Give Rocket beer and whores!

Anyone interested in how hackers think should do a few google searches and read what they talk about on their forums. These guys are just doing what they do best, and sharing the things they learn with other like-minded people. They speak to each other with far more respect and courtesy than a lot of the folks on this forum do. What is perhaps surprising (or unsurprising, depending on how cynical you are) is that they don't get paid to do it. They do it purely because they can. Every Battleye update is a new challenge for them. Seriously, they make the pros look like amateurs. It is their passion, just like reading forums and feeling superior by insulting strangers, is some other people's passion.

What I was hoping for, was a response from Rocket, which I got, tyvm Rocket. What I didnt expect, was for the forum moderators to appear as small minded as the trolls.... perhaps they are the trolls. Better hand out some IP bans. Well trolls, you didnt have to read my post and you certainly didnt have to post in response to it. I am so glad that most of the time I dont have to read this shit because you fools dont post unless there is an opinion involved, and I only use forums to find work-arounds and fixes. As for trying to rally a boycott of Arma 3 and DayZ, wow you guys must think I really have charisma, if you think I can do that, maybe I should run for President, oh wait, there is no President in New Zealand. Greetings fellow survivors, bandits, Bohemia, Rocket and Devs. It is time to point out to everyone involved with this great Mod, that unless something is done to protect the gaming experience we have all come to love, DayZ will die a horrible death, torn apart by mindless zombies. Even though the game is still in Alpha, and that bugs and exploits are an everyday hinderance to our survival, we have the right to ask for and expect protection against the latest wave of Hack tools available. Every night for the last 3 nights we have been subjected to multiple fun destroying Hacker attacks. Unless something is done, it will get much worse. Recently, a DayZ wannabe has reared its head, and will most certainly wage 'The War Z' against our favourite game. To Bohemia:- Arma is a great game but it has always been full of bugs. Rocket is an asset to your company, dont let him be swept away before he has a chance to truly blast off into the stratosphere of Legendary concept designers. For DayZ's sake, and for that of your future income, try not to think of the money you have made from this already, as any form of success, until you have provided him with the resources he needs to make this game truly great, and TOTALLY finished. To Rocket:- What you have started here is absolutely fantastic! But! Please finish the mission you have embarked upon. If Bohemia wont give you what you need then find someone who will. The state that DayZ is currently in, you will lose your player base to 'The War Z', without a doubt. And I am sure it will never be as good a game as DayZ has already been, before it became this popular, and attracted all these Hacks. To the people who love DayZ:- Show your support! But also show your anger! Let Bohemia know that if they dont fix these security issues WE WILL NOT BUY ARMA 3 OR ANY DAYZ STAND ALONE YOU HOPE TO CASH IN ON IN THE FUTURE. Thank you rocket for responding to my post. I never post on forums because I find the trolls that live on them anathema to my decision to try not to hate anybody. To be honest I have said much worse things about you to my friends every time you change the Zed aggro specs. Please dont think I am attacking you, I just want something to get done. I am a very loyal supporter and hope to remain one. And just for the record, I bought Operation Flashpoint, Arma 2 and all the expansions years before DayZ existed. I really think this concept is great and that you are the one to bring it to us. My main point was that you need to address the hackers, otherwise people will stop playing it. I had been trying to get my friends to play Arma 2 for years, now they are, thanks for that! Anyway, here I am on a forum trying to defend my opinion, which is why I never post. Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one, and they all stink.
