Yes. There shouldn't be anything in DayZ that has any effect on the damage model. The only problem is getting the weaponry to actually do the damage. -
The 5.56mm and 5.45mm do less damage than the magnum and take two hits to the chest (Much like the other pistols) to kill a zombie. Hardly over powered, if you ask me. Edit: And when you factor in the relatively low supply of ammunition, it becomes less advantageous to have that kind of rifle. Edit2: And people will kill you for your gun.

What you're reading are overblown dramatizations of butt-hurt people who made bad choices. Pay no attention to them. That said, there is a player vs. player element, but not in the traditional sense. You aren't pitted against people, they're just there surviving like you. The only thing is some people prefer to prey on the weak and careless and take their gear after murdering them. Others want to cooperate. The trick is identifying who is who and whether or not to trust people you run into. I avoid people I'm not talking to on Teamspeak like the plague because its the safest bet.

Which Czech pack? There are two. There's the big hiking backpack and then there's the little vest pack that has less slots.

I think that the Winchester needs to use the 8 round M1014 "magazines". This would make it fall more in line with the other shotguns in terms of performance and also help with logistics, so players aren't scrounging for 8 round magazines when there are 15 rounders laying around EVERYWHERE. Another issue is that having 15 rounds in the magazine doesn't make much sense, because the barrel alone would have to be almost 4 feet long to accommodate the shells. Did they have some sort of quantum magazine way back in the 1860's? lol

_____________________________ i think thats a good idea. Making it shoot only slugs for the sole reason that it has a good sight does not a good idea make. Maybe for the reason below, but that doesn't fix the issue that you'd still be picking up shotgun shells. Changing the magazines over to the 1014 magazines would solve the issue of the 1866 being too good and make ammo for the other shotguns more plentiful.

In the current state of the mod, this isn't possible to combine bolts into a stack, this is an ArmA 2 limitation. For there to be multiple bolts in a stack at all, they need to be in a magazine which means the crossbow will be able to fire X amount of times and then have to reload. That said, I hope that some day we'll able to combine magazines and bolts to save space one day through scripting.

It isn't a nerf, it's making it more realistic and increasing the viability of the other shotguns.

One of my unit mates picked one up a while back, I've also seen a DMR as well.

Its probably because the Lee Enfield has a longer range sound. In ArmA, the sound's range is determined in the config file and looks something like this. Begin1[] = {"\m41a_pulse_rifle\sound\Burst1.wav",1.77828,1,[u][i]1100[/i][/u]}; Begin2[] = {"\m41a_pulse_rifle\sound\Burst3.wav",1.77828,1,[u][i]1100[/i][/u]}; Begin3[] = {"\m41a_pulse_rifle\sound\Burst2.wav",1.77828,1,[u][i]1100[/i][/u]}; SoundBegin[] = {"begin1",0.34,"begin2",0.33,"begin3",0.33}; In the case of my Pulse Rifle, the sound's range is 1100m. The AI only hear a percentage of that, though. I won't make a list, there are simply too many guns and the Winchester & 870MCS aren't in Vanilla ArmA2.

That's already built into ArmA, when you have bullets cracking over your head your aim gets shaky.

Makes sense, this would only be useful for organized groups, though. Not to say it isn't a good idea.

Isn't that what the Epinephrine is for? Then again, once you re-spawn there's not much you can do to bring the person back.

I'm well aware of how a Winchester is loaded, in a tube magazine under the barrel. The Winchester in game fires the same shotgun shell size as the M1014 and 870MCS. The Winchester 1866 is no longer than either of the two, therefore the magazine sizes should be similar. Edit: I am well aware that the 1866 is not a shotgun IRL, however it is portrayed as one in game.
