Direct chat adds allot to the simulation, being able to talk to people 500 miles away cheapens it IMO (if they added walkie talkie's would be cool though.). this mod would be way better if bandits couldn't just voip there buddy from beyond the grave with your location. -

Theres no reason to team up..... if your an exploiter who server hop's and abuse's tents. If your not though and don't play the game like a power gamer then yea grouping up does have allot of use's. (I'd like to see hunting become actually hunting sometimes, as is the animals just stand in front of you and wait to be shot in the head for a free 2400 blood and 3 meals, pretty sure this is another reason guys don't feel the need to team up.) -
Perfect example of a duper as all of those have a super rare spawn chance, sniper rifles in this game sadly have no use outside of killing players due to how zombies die to most primary guns in 1 shot to the body

Actually it is, mostly up north, Dupers and server hoppers currently rule the servers. For an alpha mod I find it interesting but its got a long way to go fixing dupers, infinite ammo, etc and adding some more simulation elements. -
wouldn't really effect the sniper campers much as zombies don't roam outside (and by that i mean the bored kids who snipe cherno/electro and have no intention of looting), though when wild dog packs get implemented it might.

Because around 1996 gameing stopped being a Hobby for a mature Niche audience and instead exploded into the scene of casual players to young to drive or drink legally. I miss the days I could play an online game and only have 1 guy in the server be a complete tool instead of 95%, I also miss being able to post stuff about game mechanics in an alpha/beta forum without keyboard warriors. -
Because when people find one they dupe the hell out of it, all it takes is to find one and then a group dupes it in there tent, then one of the group gets killed and the ones who killed and looted him begin dupeing, etc. basically comes down to players in this game all being exploiters.

Easily fixed by not exploiting tents, I have to wonder what you guys on this forum would be like in a game of D&D or pathfinder, you'd probably start the game with maxed characters and only fight weak monsters that always drop the best items and then complain the games to easy and boreing. Oh boy.... were to even begin, this game is not built for realism if it was eating and bandageing wouldn't be instant, bullets would have to be extracted, loot would not randomly spawn in multiple times a day, etc. if guns killing people in one or two hits and friendly fire are "realism" I have to say thats pretty poor realism. How does one identify ANYBODY? we all use the same player model and so there is ZERO ability for the community to know which characters KOS, lastly its impossible to make safe zones because of sniper rifles that can kill 1km away and expoits like ghosting, ALT-F4, etc if players actually had the ability to make safe zones trust me they would have. (perfect example is the traders, that place was a fortress but that didn't stop the ghosters from exploiting in and killing people.) -
PvP sure is complex, what with the dupeing, server hopping, disconnectings, ghosting, etc. definately the best out there.

I always thought your leg didn't break but was just fractured myself, in any case I find most of the "realism" nutjobs are the PVP guys who talk about how guns work or the kill or be killed mentality of this game, to them I say sure lets make this game more realistic for you so that eating takes about 20-30 minutes, bandaging a wound takes about 10 minutes but before that you need to clean it and apply disinfectant, if you were shot then you need to get someone to extract the bullet first, you have a stamina meter that is designed around the average joe so about 3 minutes running you need to rest, etc. Jokeing aside though if these mechanics were actually implemented the realism nutjobs would start saying "its a game, less realism plz!". -
The problem is that everyone exploits the hell out of this game and then complains its to easy, well no shit If I server hopped for loot and infinite ammo, used the online dayz wiki map to find all the loot, used a tent to dupe stuff, used ventrilo instead of direct chat to give my friends feedback from 500 miles away dureing a fight, etc then i'd be bored like you guys to. this is kinda like when everyone said they got bored with a GTA game and they use cheats from the get go. one suggestion i would have to improve the survival aspect of this game would be to give the animals actual ai instead of just standing around waiting to be killed and gutted.

Its a shame most people who play games that give them freedom arn't creative like this and usually can't think past exploit,loot,kill. -
Its called a psycopath, I would personally love to see a system designate you as a psycho if you don't loot the person you kill just to see how many psycho's in comparison to bandits there are. My friend and I did a bit of a bandit thing today, we didn't kill the guy just held him up at gunpoint and demanded he give us his beans and then left. we knew there was beans in the barn for him and just did it to see what would happen so it was more an experiment then anything.

Says the guy who likely dupe's with his tent and server hops, the only reason you guys are all bored and PVP is all thats left is because you exploit the game. Try playing without dupeing, without ventrilo/teamspeak, without server hopping, without useing an online map to find all the good loot spots, playing on a veteran server, etc. I promise you getting to your "end game" won't be nearly as easy. I can't wait to see when tents/ammo is fixed and you guys actually have to play the game like the "carebears". -
Neither are all the hackers, dupers, and disconnectors which make up a pretty good chunk of the people playing. Everyone exploits the survival "end game" which is why they find it easy.

This seems to make the crossbow a more appealing choice to new spawns, I've been using one with 2 steel bolts to quietly raid for supplies near my groups main camp after having to respawn when i fired my winchester and aggro'd like 50 of them at 6000 blood and dieing horribly.

I get a good laugh out of the "don't force us to play your game" types. hate to tell you guys but rocket is going to force you to play this game like a survival one eventually, once ammo isn't infinite and tents are reworked or removed you won't have the ammo to engage in huge firefights like you do, now add to that zombies becoming more and more a legitimate threat, eventually survival is going to be an actual challange for those besides new spawns without dupeing tents. (i don't even use tents because of this glitch, but most gamers these days have a "play to win" mentality even in winnable games and have to use every exploit available to make a game not fun or turn it into something it was never intended to be.) Im having the most fun right now just creeping around towns looking for medical supplies and food for my group who's in pretty bad shape (2 broken legs, low on food, and we don't server hope to replenish our ammo but thats getting fixed on wed i hear anyways.) Using a crossbow to keep quiet and search lone zombies for beans. sure we could hide our stuff in a tent, suicide, and be right back in tip top shape but what's the fun in that? I found morphine for one guy today which was one of my major goals and got a much bigger feeling of accomplishment then if we just respawned. -

I wonder if allot of griefers will just stop playing the game when these two bugs get fixed and it becomes a proper survival game. from my understanding things like DMR mag's are super rare and most greifers just server hop after they find one. with the these issues fix'd they won't be able to just camp cherno/electro all day like they've been doing. (unless they want to waste those super rare mags on new spawns instead of defending there camps up north.) Im already seeing a bunch of pvp guys refusing to play because zombies are a threat now and demanding it get patched. -
Ill bet 10 cans of beans he's one of the forum posters here who call's people carebears. such is usually the irony of online pvp players.

While i agree mostly with what you say I don't really see how one can adapt his playstyle to counter a griefer noob who snipes you for no reason other then jollies. -
Outside of the aggro range and leg breaking being a bit wonky i think its fine, had a zombie chase me from cherno all the way to electro which isn't very fun when you just spawn, the only reason he even stopped chasing me was because i found a revolver and shot him in the face.

Obviously a troll post but ill add my 2cents, every single "pvp badass wannabe" i've ever met in dayz, eve, or ultima online has been an exploitive Dbag who will never ever take part in a fair fight because they don't ever want to lose there stuff, in EVE you'll see pvp corps with nothing but mining and pve ship kill mails or the odd pvp ship kills with no lose's that day (which mean they were likely 7v1 because statistically killing 20 pvp fitted ships in one day and not loseing a single one yourself is statistically VERY unlikely in a real battle) In UO it was just well geared characters camping newbie areas, and in dayz its snipers on hills camping cherno/electro and alt/f4ing the minute someone shoots back. Across 3 games i have yet to see a legitimate PVP player who wasn't just a greifer to afraid to fight someone on there level on fear of losing there stuff. So until I start seeing ingame/video's on youtube real PVP I always assume pvper's on forums are massive carebears who only take part in fights they can either win or exploit themselves out when things go south. -

This, it makes no sense that dureing a zombie apocolypse there is no actual infection and i would personally love to see a group of bandits get bitten trying to loot a survivor they just killed. maybe make anti-biotics postpone the infection for another 24 hours or something. besides that as other have said ammo is to plentiful and zombies are to weak, I just raided an airfield and got an ak with 60 rounds, that is 60 dead zombies without even needing to headshot and the clips for it arn't exactly rare either.
