The reason why i kill on sight now !!
Deadend197 replied to africanhungergames's topic in General Discussion
You're stupid for trusting newspawns. As soon as you spawn in the game on the coast what do you do? You look for loot, and the faster you get it the better. You can trust fully geared people alot more, but of course still not completely. Geared people have everything they already want, they have no reason to kill other people unless they solely play for PvP, the only thing they could possibly want from other players are small things that it aren't worth killing over. This is why people kill newspawns, because they have the potential to bite you in the ass if you let them. -
Why are my shots impacting the ground infront of me?
Deadend197 posted a topic in General Discussion
So I seem to be having trouble with the weapons, I've noticed the M4 and especially Mosin, while prone or sometimes crouched, my shots are impacting the ground far away from where my scope is actually positioned. Many times both when my target was far away or close with the scope aimed at their head or body they would be alerted by the perfectly positioned shot which end up pissing out the end of the gun onto the ground as if there were an invisible wall in front of me. I am using first person to aim, so that shouldn't be the problem. I hear that changing your FOV will affect mildots and range or something, maybe it is the cause of this? How would I set my FOV back to default if that is the case? If not then what is the fix for this? -
when final version of DayZ is released you will not be able to survive alone

Haha, ofcourse. I meant along the lines of as in using your own mind to figure out things for yourself. :)

I would sure hate you be you in a zombie apocalypse, struggling to find out things for your self through trial and error.

psychological effects of banditry
Deadend197 replied to SpetsnazGRU (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
God what the fuck is wrong with you people? It's like crying about PVP in Battlefield/Cod/Shooters/Etc. It's not the people who kill other people who are making the game worse it's people like you, who believe the game is bad because people do part what the game intends for them to do. And another thing, by doing this you're forcing the same mindset onto Everyone, not everyone in a real situation would break down crying as they kill a zombie, not everyone will feel bad for killing people especially if it is to survive, heck even people who like killing they aren't going to feel bad or get shaky hands or whatever. Penalizing people for being who they are is a terrible and frankly moronic idea. Psychological effects vary from person to person. -

I have yet to find a long range scope. So that won't work out so well yet haha. -

I didn't know defending my group from bandits was a bad thing. I should probably run around with no weapons letting people fire theirs at me while I spread love and kindness to everyone I see next time right? -
Will extra weapons added in the future be placed like they were in the mod? In civilian areas. I hope not, I love how scarse the guns are in the SA at the moment, It feels more like I have to survive with the melee weapons untill I can reach a military compound or more believable area that spawns guns. Having newspawns find a weapon in the first house they get into just doesn't appeal to me imo. About pistols; I'd like to see them mostly as weak zombie killing weapons, rather than ones that could challenge players. Agreed, Sniper rifles are pretty superior weapons that can kill you without you even knowing about it, having them very rare is a good thing.

How can we make a players life more important than his gear?
Deadend197 replied to knawx's topic in General Discussion
Say you're homeless you have nothing, no food, no shelter, no shoes. Not a thing. Are you going to value you're life as much as if you were rich or moderately wealthy. Yeah. I see no need to makepeople think their character's life is worth more than their gear when the whole purpose of your life IS to collect gear. -
KOS'ing/Banditry is valid and in some ways a necessary way of survival. By KOS'ing you eliminate any threat that may posed to you, even if that player looks under geared you never know if there is a hatchet in the house he goes to next and what his thoughts are on killing other players. In real life you just can't take that risk.Of course alot of people will say "It's a gaem iz not real life!" But DayZ, I don't know what it is about it just feels more real that any other game. You must have felt it too, walking through a forest or in a town and you spot a player, your heart, all that adrenaline, you don't get that in any other game, In that very moment the game Is Real, your next actions decide if you will live or die. It's kill or be killed.

Deadend197 replied to Rekuja's topic in General Discussion
Don't worry about it, it's exactly like getting a new controller you've never used before, you'll get used to it if you persevere. -
"Cry, cry,cry please stop ppl from hurting me, I wanna be away from mean bad guys!" Jesus fuckin' Christ grow some balls and learn to Survive.

Did you shoot the gun with the silencer attached? Did it sound like it was suppressed/did zombies ignore you? Suppressor didn't work? Well there you go! Was it really that hard?

Server Hopping/Combat logging-How it ruins the Dayz experience

We actually needed to explain why this is bad? -
1: Holy shit you people make me mad, stop your whining, stop doing stupid things and getting yourself in stupid situations. If people are KOS'ing you then stay the fuck away from them, don't just walk upto them all herpy de derpdy "wanna be frendz?" You need to be cautious of people in this game and you would be even more cautions were this real life. Be smart and don;t show yourself immediately if you want to see if someone is friendly, of course don't expect them to stay friendly, you never know how someone thinks. Is any game realistic? I'd say DayZ and Arma are the most realistic games you'll come across. Non PVP areas? What, you think zombies or players are gonna stop hurting you because you need your space to cry? You won't be given time rest in a zombie apocalypse, you have to SURVIVE. Basic loot, (Food water clothes) seem reasonably easy to find, if you're thinking of weapons then no shit, nobody is gonna leave weapons lying around on their couch for you. 2: Oh hang on a sec my hud is only saying I'm mildly annoyed at your expecting someone to have ESP, "My croch is itchy, Oh of course duuh, I have aids." I hate to break it to you buddy but it doesn't work like that. You're not some car you can gauge when it's empty or full you're a complex human being with complex problems, don't expect to know all about what is making you sic right when you get sick there are millions of diseases out there. I think the way it is in DayZ is a huge step up from the mod, it makes medicines more valuable and diseases affect your survival and gameplay more. 3: I seem to be able to find loot relatively easily, but of course that loot re-spawning thing is currently being sorted out, Apart from the re-spawning issue I like how scarse the loot can be, instead of sprinting through a couple of doors coming out packed with all the food and basics you will ever need, you actually have to look, and stay in the towns and cities for longer which allows for some nice player interactions. 4: Someone needs punishing? Sure call the Po-po! Oh what a shame the zombies ate them. Nobody is going to get punished in a place where there is no longer any law, it is not survival of the fittest/most geared/smartest. Seriously, some people have no Idea what a Zombie apocalypse scenario entails, you need to fight for your life, this includes killing people who may want to kill you are who may have something you need to live. I understand that there are times when some complete asses gun new spawns down, and yes that could be punnished, but turning the game into a easy mode, PG game is not the way to do it. And what if they had a legitimate reason for shooting that player, You'd be the one doing the random killing then. Getting geared back up is actually the best, but most rarely experienced, parts of the game for me. It's easy as tits to survive when you've got good gear and it get's pretty boring end game, if you know where you're going you can get re-geared pretty quick. 5: Sure vodka would be nice. 6: Yes this is Alpha 7: I think there's a Standalone and Arma 3 mod for a reason, if one gets fucked up, filled with junk that had no reason to be, then there's always a second place to go. So far it all looks good. 8: Hahaha! Look at this loser guys! Playing DayZ and he hates walking! Good lord that's an oxymoron if I've ever heard one! This isn't COD buddy, It's based off of a tactical slow paced game and that's the way it should be. Gotta go fast only works for getting you killed and making you do stupid things. P.S. Alpha 9: DayZ isn't going to change because you're too shit at it to live more than a few seconds, Dark souls didn't change for the kids playing that, DayZ and doesn't give a shit if you're not good enough to survive on your own. So you're just gonna have to get used to it. Apologies if I didn't fully explain the errors of this guy's 'changes' to everyone's expectations I very rarely attempt to explain them to the bitches whining about the game not having this or that, despite it not being a completed game yet, or having unfriendly players who beating them with wrenches and sticking bats up their asses because they're too stupid to watch their asses and fight for their lives. DayZ is a beautiful game one of which I am glad to have been a part of, it is a challanging game with no room for the weak and unwilled. It is a Zombie Survival genre, and it really deserves that, it is a True zombie SURVIVAL game. U wot m8!? I'll whack ye in the gob, knock you unconscious, nick ur axe, 'nd stick it up yer pooper!

Hello and Welcome to the Omega-6 Advertisement Page! We currently have our own Vilayer Private Hive DayZ Server that has the utmost minimum pinging and a high uptime. Our server's logs are checked frequently for malicious activity and the server is administrated daily to make sure you are having the smoothest gameplay possible. Most of our active core members are experienced and will help you if you contact them prior & if you are in their vicinity. While we are recruiting, we also welcome groups of friends and clans to make our server their home as we strive on making everything as fair as possible. We currently only play on the Lingor Island & Takistan maps. Server is also hosted in London. EU Players can expect 60-90 Pings, and US Players can expect 110+. I also constantly keep tabs on the servers RCON while I am not in-game so I can sort out any issues, give out restart/map change notices and ban hackers if needed. We currently have server(s) on DayZ, Teamspeak 3. We also have our own Forums, all of which are public. We are recruiting players new to dayz and experienced alike. We hold regular training sessions on how to drive/pilot and use maps ect.. too if you cannot already. You can apply for membership on our forums if you would like to join the clan. Currently: DayZLingor - (0.34/96751) (Veteran|3D:ON|CH:OFF) - Omega-6 DayZ Community You may be thinking though, why join a clan? Heres a few reasons why: Benefits of being in such a clan, you will get the opportunity to do things that you normally wouldn't. Whether it be maintaining a base, learning aspects of the game, or Training sessions of HALO Jumping out a plane into Chernagorsk for capture of a High Value Target. Belonging to a clan will let you play DayZ in a group aspect, of players that you will depend your life upon, bringing partially a new gameplay experience. You can apply to join Omega 6 here! You can find all server information on our forums!

Suggestions for the DayZ standalone - thinking outside of the limitations of an Arma 2 mod.
Deadend197 replied to ruarz's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I don't like how most of the Medical things need another person to help you, I can't trust anyone in DayZ and my friends don't have good enough computers for Arma 2, I think it would be alot better if maybe you can still use things like Splints, blood transfusions, ect but it would take considerably longer to apply. -
So all I want to know is if there is a way to stop the instant transition when I move my mouse up to the next monitor, I always manage to overshoot when trying to switch tabs, can I delay this some way so that I have to keep my mouse at the top of the screen for 2 seconds before it goes to the next monitor? Any help with this will me much appreciated. :] P.S. I would like it to stay the same when I move the Mouse Up to the next monitor, I can't have it on the sides or bottom.
