I'm overflowing with tents at the moment. I used to have to search high and low for a tent. Now I have about 10 of them. I will soon need tents to store the tents. I hide my tents and when I return, sometimes after only a few minutes (so no server restart involved) I find a 2nd tent next to the original. This tends to make hiding the tent a bit pointless as the new tent is generally outside the bushes and in full view of anyone passing by. This has resulted in them being looted at least once. The new tents are all empty and fully packable. The original tents are working just fine. They have been in place for four days now. they remain in place and the contents are not disappearing on any of the servers I am using. Fish

AN AXE WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

Ok so I am wondering if the problem with the tents duping has anything to do with the fact they have been moved? I place my tents in bushes and often need to place them several times before i am happy with their position. If I was to place them only once and leave them alone would that help with the duping? Fish

Well since the last update 95417 trying to follow a server has begun to be almost impossible Three times now I have pitched a tent, put in some goodies only to have the server disappear. I try to play on the Dutch NL servers. Early friday evening there were about 30 servers give or take, an hour ago there were just 5 accessable. I saw a new one pop up, figured as it was just coming on it would be up to date, joined and pitched the tent then filled it with stuff from my backback so i could go out and scavange...The server disconnects and is gone from the list. This is getting to be a bit of a pain in the ass believe me. No I am stuck with no food and just an axe. Also if the server stays offline for a week you lose all your stuff. Ain't life a bitch? Fish

Sorry typo\ I take it you mean Owner not just admin I meant NL45 As I said a "recruit" server who is still running 1.62.95393 also I see the server I normally play on (i.e. where i have all my tents stored) is still running 1.62.95312. I'm afraid he might be on vacation as well. It's the time here in Holland. I was just getting ready to try out the sniper rifle I found at a helli crash site (sigh) oh well. Practice makes perfect.

Yeah I told him to give me access so I could keep an eye on it but he didn't. I don't play there anyway as it is a recruit server. But it really sucks if you are a regular there. The server updates come so fast and furious it is a wonder anyone can keep up. I understand each one take a manual install. Not an auto update went the server restarts, as far as I know (I don't know much). Just looked and we are now on version 95417. 36 hours ago it was 95251. That is 4 updates farther. Owning a server for this beta is a full time job. Fish I'm having the same trouble with the server I usually play on. Been waiting all morning for it to update from 95312 so I can get back on. The worst thing is that I have my tents with hard won booty and should a server be inaccessible for a week (like my son's), the tents will all disappear

So What is to happen to servers that fail to update? Will they simply be removed from the list (temporarily?) My son has a DayZ server running (NL14) but went on vacation. He will only be able to update at the end of next week. Fish

Tents seem to be getting better. I have had 2 for several days now. I always try to remember to use the mouse scroll to "save old camping tent" every time I visit it. That said I have lost several with content in the past but that goes for backpacks and personal inventory as well. All to often I have spawned to find the tents gone, but I have also found tents added. These tents were pitched and empty. I was able to pack them up and use then elsewhere. I hope they are still there but i cannot check as the last update has resulted in more than half the server I use to go missing from the list. That and 3 updates in the last 36 hours mean many servers are not compatible and will not load (until they update?) I don't understand why people feel the need to pitch tents in plain sight. It's like hanging a big "LOOT ME "sign above it. I always put my tents in deep brush cover and if possible away from the road. Yes they are a pain in the butt to pitch but once in the right position they can be next to impossible to see. In fact, I need to write down the coordinates to find them myself sometimes. These extra tent spawns are a problem in that they spawn outside the cover of the tent i placed and I have the impression that they actually affect the texture of the bushes and give away the position of the hidden tent. I lost a couple of nice things due to this but managed to move the rest to a new location. As a matter of fact, I always scout good locations for my tents and write them down for possible later use when i come across them while foraging. Fish

I find tents very useful as they are but would like to see things stabilized and get what we have working without glitches before we attempt to expand the envelope. I find tents very hard to come by. it takes me sometimes a day or more to get one. The two I have at the moment (if they haven't disappeared yet) are well hidden in deep cover. I find it hard to understand how people manage to pitch 6-10 tents, in an obvious location, in plain sight. How do they get a hold of so many? How come they aren't simply looted and destroyed. If I find a tent where someone seems to have attempted to hide it to some degree I will look but generally leave the stuff in it alone unless I'm in dire need or see something very tempting. But when I find 10 tents on the hill at Stary Sobor and half of them are stocked full I will take all I can carry, smash any empty tents and put a note on the map that there is free stuff for the taking... I sat a ways away and watched this guy server farming, popping in and out filling the tents. Sadly he died of lead poisoning. I find the issue of capacity in a tent very perplexing. If they are 50 units, how come I can put 6 guns in one, or do guns only count as one unit in a tent? Last thing I want is for it all to be gone because I have over loaded the tent. I think this issue need clarification. Lots of guess work out there as to what will fit but no proof positive answer.

Wait till dark, find a server with few players and stock up is what I would do. I don't like killing other players unless I feel they are a threat to me. Not happened yet, though I did find a guy once in the supermarket. We saluted and each went on to do our own thing. If I see a stranger and he hasn't seen me, I just steer clear of him... Except once where I saw a guy crossing a field. I went prone behind a bush and used the voip to say Hello, I see you! Poor guy almost crapped his pants. He went prone and then logged out. Fish
