I have spent the last 24 hrs hunting about to see just what is happening where. I found 3 long range scopes but none were pristine. I found one PU scope badly damaged and a few m68 comp scopes one of which was pristine (which In took to replace my worn acog) Most of the scope finds where in the military barrack (you know, the one with the long row of door with a shower behind the 1st one.) The tents are empty except for the bunkers with camo nets and the hangers are a great place to shop for shoes, but little else. I will not be exposing myself searching the hangers for the time being... just not worth it. I found maybe 5 M4's, no bipods and some grips and butt-lates most of them not in all that great a condition. Loads of .357's and ammo for it. Less 45's and maybe only 2 clips for it. So where have you been finding the shotguns? Do the sawn off shotguns take up less space and can you put them in a backpack? Also, would I be right in assuming that when using the sawn off shotgun you really need pellet ammo? I mean in reality a sawn off shotgun firing slugs would be next to useless! Just a single big wad with no accuracy!

So a fire select DOES exisit! How do you select single fire with the M4? Also is you have the mulpul grip and an extended bipod, the my is quite accurate at up to 300 meters.

Hi Mattias! How ya been? I think the overal strategy is to make the heavy duty stuff a bit more of a luxury. Getting your gear tweaked and pristine should take a bit of an investment in time and energy. Myself I would hate to see the game go back to the state it was in the mod with night vision scopes and snipes with a 2000m range. Give us some weapons but make us work for it. the game is about survival not attack. Play Battlefield 4 or Call of Duty if you just want to blow peoples brains out. This is why I think the long range incorporation all the health/sickness issues as well as hunting, fire, shelter and weather will make the game that much more challenging. It will change it from a shooter into a real life simulation.

My charactor did get reset, but in a good way. Last time I played I was killed and lost all my stuff. I didn't have the heart to restart right away so I gave it a couple of days rest. Yesterday I start back up and I have an earlier version of my dead charactor from about a week ago. OK he didn't have the pristine telescopic scope yet but he had more stuff than just starting on the beach AND much of the items he had are now a lot harder to find! So I am a happy camper. I was frightend that I was back to square one when after changing servers I was suddenly on the beach with nothing but that switched back the next time I logged back in after diner. It has now stayed with the old charactor for 6-7 server jumps so I am fairly confident I will be keeping my inventory now.

Ah so you have actually found a shotgun? cool! I have yet to find one. I do need a new mosin now after painting the one I had green and cleaning it with a gun-cleaning kit. It went fron pristine to worn after cleaning and from a 5 shot to a single shot after painting. LOL. I found an M4 and fitted it out with some cool pristine attachments i was saving and put the mosin attachments way in the empty box. I'll use the m4 until I find a new mosin.

My mates and just use skype,. saves 2 packpack slots.

I've been looking about and have noticed that the barns with the stairs to the right and left of the doors are now spawning loot. I hate those things as they have given me more broken legs than good items LOL. Also, is the lobby is the indication of server time new or have I just been missing it?

Indeed I had three weapons which I cleaned with a "worn kit" and all three became worn as well. I then found a pristine cleaning kit and tried cleaning the guns in the hope they would become pristine once again as well... no such luck, they remained "worn". So leave the cleaning kits unless you find a pristine one. Otherwise you are better off with a dirty gun.

Well I am glad I took the trouble to read this. looks like I am in the same boat. Will be waiting for the next update to resume play... too bad :(

Another issue I have been having is ammo boxs disappearing from my inventory. I load them full and when I rejoin the server they are no longer in my backpack. The first time this happened I had just normal stacks or 30 rounds and the second time these were stacks of 60... thus 600 rounds lost! Fish

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and have been in the game for about 5 days. I finally have gotten skilled enough to pitch a tent and start building up a stash of supplies (when they don't suddenly disappear into the ground or out of my backpack) One of the things I have gotten ahold of is GPS. I have watched the tutorials and understand how to use the mini map, markers, grid co-ordinates, etc. However, during my last foraging trip I was looking at the map and noticed some vague circle markers with an arrow on them. When the map cursor was held over these points the text "Man" pops up. The markers tended to fade in and out. I assume these are other players with the arrow indicating their direction. My question is: Are these indeed other players? What triggers then to show up on the map? Why do they fade? My 2nd question is: I have seen "note" markers put down by other players on the map with labels added. I have seen suggestions on the forum that this my be linked to the mode their communications are switched to i.e. with "Group" open the points are visable to everyone with a map and in "command" they are private or possibly only visible to yourself or perhaps someone close by. Can anyone clarify this? Is there any way to make map notes that only I can read that will remain invisable to others? For example, my tent is pitched in a bush and is so invisable that I don't see it unless i stand on top of it. It would be nice to be able to mark the position on the map, but not if this will advertise the whereabouts to every Tom, Dick and Bandit. Thank for any and all help Fish

I did quite a bit of searching on the forum trying to find out exactly how much a tent would hold and in what composition. On another forum I found the answer and have copied and pasted it to here with heartfelt thanks to the author Kirii Fuchs (Thanks for the info!) Ok so rule 1: In a tent every item counts as 1 slot. That means your m4a1 is 1 slot, a tire is 1 slot, a jerrycan is 1 slot, anything and everything is 1 slot when inside a tent. Storage is broken down into 3 different categories, each one has it’s own amount of storage space. Weapons & Tools(including NV goggles, binoculars, and side arms) – 10 Slots Backpacks – 5 Slots Items – 50 Slots So an example of a full tent would be: 5 AKM’s, 2 Binoculars, 2 M1911 Pistols, 1 NV goggles. = 10 Slots 5 Alice Packs. = 5 Slots 10 tires, 5 jerrycans, 20 bloodbags, 5 Stanag Ammo, 10 Raw Meat. = 50 Slots. So as you can see it doesn’t matter how many slots the item would take in your inventory, it only counts as 1 slot within the tent. If you attempt to place items into a full tent one of two things can happen. The item can drop on the floor near the tent or the item could disappear. So take care when placing items in the tent. My personal theory on items disappearing after placing in a full tent is — the items are placed under the tent or perhaps under the ground if your tent is on a hill. Fish

My buddy was banned after a hack-attack that left him permanently spawned, hanging in the air. I know he wasn't hacking so the system isn't perfect and still has some bugs.

Indeed you can have 10 flares of chemlights in one inventory square but only one epi pen or morphine injector. Who knows, Perhaps they come in a big box? Fish

I have had the same 6 tents on two servers for 2 1/2 weeks now. Nothing has vanished and the tents are still there. I do need to remove the magicly spawned tents next to them on a regular basis though!

They may be banning alot of people but they are getting innocents as well! My buddy just got a global ban after a hacker took out the whole server

One of my buddies who I know 100% doesn't cheat was hit by a hacker-attack which made everyone on the server spawn in the air and fall to their deaths. This happens on a regular basis and isn't new. When he tried to re-spawn a new character he found that it spawned hanging in the air no matter what server he spawned on. After several attempts to spawn some place normally he received a global ban from BattlEye. He has sent a letter of protest but I have little hope of it being resolved in his favor. So BattlEye may be fighting a losing war against the hackers but all the same their filters are not 100% effective and innocents are getting penalized as collateral damage Fish

I'm finished, The umteenth hacker attack and I don't give a shit any more. The far north edge of the map and suddenly in the middle of the forest a guy appears kneeled and shooting and I am dead. (again) Can't be bothered anymore. Let the hackers kill each other.

Agree 100% with DOXS! With the gear above you can hunker down near a water hole and tour the fields for game. get a tent if you can and set it up in some dense bushes. The you can refill your water bottle, store your stuff and perhaps, who knows, while you are out hunting you may come across the occasional downed Helli and acquire some unique stuff. This is why I like to have as big a pack as I can and keep the basic amount of gear on me. Plenty of room to store any windfall you come across. I only ever take a pistol, 2 clips, 2 meat, a map, a knife, matches, a hatchet, water bottle and a morphine pen. Anything else is not needed to survive. and some of this could be considered excess baggage. Guns are only needed against other players. Only a fool shoots zombies if they have any other choice. An axe is quick, quiet and has unlimited ammo.

The axe replaces the main weapon so you must put the gun in your backpack first of it will drop to the ground. I perfer the axe on zombies. Guns are only need against other players.

LOL I just went to a spot where a tent used to be that I removed to find it had respawned with all the items it used to contain. Jippie! Fish

Since the update on the 27th of July the list of servers in the 6 launch program has become a huge pain in the ass. Whereas in the past 6 launch would show a large list of servers, many greyed out and some unplayable, the list now shows a hugely shortened list of available severs. The worst bit is that in order to find a specific server, I must often refresh the server list dozens of times before the server you are looking for shows up (if it shows up at all). In addition the ping of all the servers no longer registers as any value other than 9999. I preferred it the old way. Basically you learned which servers where playable and which were not but they were all there to choose from. Now I spend sometimes a fifteen minutes trying to get the server to show up. If I am trying to play with friends it can take even longer (or never) before all of us are able to find and join the chosen server. Please change it back to the way it was! Fish
