    BANG I'm dead?

Patience is key. If you're going to go into a town scout it out first from a distance. If you see zombies roaming around, it means there's another player close by. If there are no zombies you should be okay to loot the town providing there isn't another player scouting the same town as you. Stick to the tree's when travelling don't ever travel by road or the train tracks, that's just a death sentence. Kill any bandit you see, without question. Treat survivors with caution, they could be friendly but they could also be hostile. Well that's everything in a nut shell. Follow this code and I guarantee you'll live longer.

    [AUS] New Chernarus Republic

Name: Zane How did you hear of us? Didn't. Found you guys when I was browsing through the clan listings. Why do you wish to join us? Just looking for an active clan to be apart of. This looks like the right place :) Will you keep a consistent approach to our Real-Life Military Simulator for DayZ? Sure do. Soldier or Citizen? I'm not much of a shot so I guess I'll be citizen for now. Do you abide by our laws and will work as a team rather than lone-wolf? Unless authorized. I agree. Do you swear undying loyalty to the NCR, your fellow comrades and your President? I swear. Skype: My Skype name is zwatts1.21
  3. I'm up for this if you'll have me. I don't have a Hero skin nor am I a very good shot but I have a good understanding of how the game works. I don't ever shoot on sight, I'll only fire my weapon when I've been shot at. I find that it's worth giving people the benefit of the doubt and trusting them rather then just shooting them straight away. The way I see it, killing them would give me short term benefits. I'd be able to loot his gear but that would only last until I died. If I let them live, long term benefits are a possibility. I've formed some truly great friendships just by trusting people, and I've had some really amazing DayZ moments. But of course trusting people is very risky (most of them just shoot me when my back is turned) but I think it's worth it. I'm nineteen years old and I'm Australian so meeting up would be quite easy. I've also got a microphone and both Teamspeak 3 and Skype. I'm a friendly person, I'm not the kind of guy that takes this game seriously, I'm just in it for the fun. I'm usually playing almost everyday, so if you're interested My Skype name is zwatts1.21 if you feel the need to contact me or you can just private message me.

    LOOKING FOR A MEDIC

Sure man, I've been looking for a group so I wouldn't mind being a Medic. I'm assuming you're from Australia judging from your location, so it'll be easy to meet up when we're in the same time zones.

    My First Kill!

MY FIRST KILL Well, after months of playing this game I finally made my first kill if you can believe it. I've always been a friendly player, always willing to lend a hand which led to me being betrayed and shot in the back numerous times. I was crawling to Cherno to fix my broken leg when I come across the service station outside the city. I sat on the hill scoping out the place with my binoculars before making my way into Cherno when I see a survivor running across the road. I contemplate killing him but my conscience gets the better of me and I leave him live. Several minutes pass when I see a player wearing a bandit skin looting the inside of the service station building. He had a AKS-74 Kobra on him so I made sure to line my cross-hair up with his head. My conscience once again got the better of me so I decided not to kill him with my silenced M4A1 CCO SD. But he didn't move on like the rest of them did, he started walking towards the trees in the area I was. I waited several seconds and he wasn't changing direction, he kept coming closer and closer. it would have only been a matter of time before he noticed me, so I was forced to fire several bullets into his torso. The players final words were, "Dude why?". Naturally I looted his body and it turned out that he had exactly what I needed, MORPHINE. I realise he probably would have killed me without hesitation if he noticed me but it doesn't help the situation. I feel like a complete prick, I felt like such a prick that I logged out of the game and I haven't been back since. I personally erased that players hours of hard work and effort, all gone in the blink of an eye. Did anyone else feel the same way with your first kill, or are you desensitised to it all?

    24/7 Daylight Servers... UGH?

I really hate to tell you but even if it were dark people rarely use flash lights. It's the simple task of turning your gamma and brightness all the way up and changing your HDR quality to very high. So the survival element is pretty much the same as the day time.
  7. God how I hate hackers. Three times in a row it's happened, I've been teleported into a large group of people and mowed down by the hacker. Three times in the span of 24 hours. I could deal with the first two times, I didn't have much on me at all so getting killed by a hacker was no big deal. But the third time I had all the gear I could possibly want, it took me hours of scavenging to collect it all. To make it worse I had a broken leg, so I was crawling to Cherno for some morphine. I almost made it too, but of course I was teleported and killed before I could fix my leg. Don't get me wrong, I love this game. It's one of the best experiences I've ever had when it comes to video games. But instances like this really make me want to stop playing. I'm crossing my fingers for the DayZ stand alone. I'm hoping it fixes most of the problems that plague DayZ including better hack protection. Please for the love of God, find a solution to these damn hackers.
  8. I can see this working in two ways. Players will cooperate more often, or it will give players more reasons to kill on sight.
  9. Sure I'd be interested, that is if you don't mind playing with a nineteen year old. I've grown tired of going solo, so grouping up with a few players might be a nice change. I should warn you that I'm not much of a player, I know the ins and outs of the game but my aiming isn't exactly desirable due to my ageing computer and generally just being terrible at shooters. I have a microphone and teamspeak so communication shouldn't be a problem. If you're interested, send me a private message.
  10. Hello gentlemen, I'm currently looking for a clan or group to join if someone will have me. I'm 19 years old and quite a regular player. I'm Australian and I've been looking for some sort of clan or group for quite some time, so if anyone's interested don't hesitate to leave a comment or private message me. I do have a microphone and teamspeak if that matters at all.

I'm also a very friendly and respectful person. How often do you play?: Everyday mostly. There are times when I'll take breaks from the game though. How long have you been playing?: About 4 months. Do you have TeamSpeak? I sure do. Do you have a Microphone?: Yes. Are you affiliated to any other clans/groups?: Sadly no. I'm fairly confident that I know the ins and outs of this game. Questions?: None spring to mind. Other information?: Feel free to contact me if you need any further information.

    worst first impressions on dayz

This game works just as real life would if there were an apocalypse, so treat it as such. Pretend that it's really you in the game, act like you would if this were a real situation. Use your instincts and I promise you the game will be much easier.
  13. Sometimes I think I'm too trusting and nice to other survivors I meet. I haven't died from a zombie since I first started playing a few weeks back, all my deaths have been player related and most of those player related deaths are because of my trusting nature. I can't even count how many times I've helped someone else out only to take a bullet to the head when I'm not looking. Today for instance, I was running around the outskirts of Cherno, avoiding a sniper and grabbing as much loot as I can. Anyway, I started exploring an old construction site for something a little better than my double barrelled shotgun when a player passes by me. I could have easily shot him but I told him I was friendly and he did the same. He went into the construction building and I continued what I was doing. "Hey man, you got any food and water my icons are flashing" he said, I of course said yes and offered him some. We met in the middle of a construction building where he had another player standing beside him holding a lee enfield. I asked if he was his friend, and told me that he was and that he was friendly. They asked me to just drop the supplies so I did, I was in the middle of dropping a can of baked beans when a shot is fired. It connected with my head and I fell unconscious confused about what happened. They stood over my body laughing and spewing insults at me. My timer finally ended and I began to regain consciousness only to have a bullet put into my head delivering the final blow. Stuff like this happens all the time. I've tried just to kill people on sight but I always give in and give them the benefit of the doubt. I just don't enjoy killing people, the only time I'll ever take a shot at someone is if they're a bandit. I'm seriously fucked when they remove the bandit skins, guess I'm going to have to adapt to a new philosophy. Shoot first, as questions later.

    Server Hopping: Good or bad?

Server hopping, meaning being about to swap servers and still keeping your gear and position on the map.
  15. Firstly let me point out that I love the server hop feature, it's probably one of the best aspects of the game in my opinion. It's great being able to play different servers and not worrying about losing the gear I worked so hard to earn. As much as I like this handy feature I encountered one major flaw with it. My friends and I were bunkered down in the schoolhouse in Elektro. We had all the entrances blocked with tank traps and barbed wire with one man guarding each exit. A large group of bandits saw us from outside and opened fire on us so we returned fire. This shoot out went on for a few minutes when suddenly the enemy fire stopped. We stood our ground in the schoolhouse thinking it was a trap for five or so minutes when suddenly the entire group had teleported inside the room I was in. We were taken by surprise and they destroyed us. I found out later that these bandits logged out of this server and logged back into a less populated one. They then entered the schoolhouse without a problem and logged back into the server my friends and I were on. Just wondering, is there any plan in future updates to fix this problem. I was thinking that maybe if you server hop you're spawned back to the nearest spawn point with all your gear in tact. It might be a bit of a hassle to walk back to the place you were at, but at least problems like this can be avoided. I just find it extremely unfair, my friends and I worked so hard playing this game legit just to be killed by a bunch of assholes that abuse the system. Well that's my two cents worth, if you have an opinion on this feel free to comment below.
