Doesn't matter in the context im referring too... and this is like saying playing the DayZ mod servers instead of Arma2 stock is wrong (oh and your pissing on the Arma 2 devs  ). The fact that you cant see that... Im guessing your young. Of course Rocket knows what game he like most for him, but some of these folks know what they like. As do people who downloaded a weapon mod for Arma and as do the people who passed on it. Its all preference and its all legitimate. If it effects testing or somehow off puts someone from DayZ (doubt that), thats another issue, which im not referring to.

I was running next to a guy briefly today, faster than him, using the run mode you get when your start running while in the boxing stance and hes yelled out that i should stop doing that because rubberbanding was still happening. Is that the cause? -
Zed, no matter what you think about Dean's application for godlyhood. He's still one man with one opinion and one life experience lending one set of primary preferences, like everybody else.

I have like 1500 hours of Operation Flashpoint alone, know what that is? It was the same back then and i still dislike it now. I'd really like it to go. I was doing the WW2 coastal battles re-enactments with the other zombie apocalypse survivors WW2 re-enactors today and was trying frantically to look up the hill above me and below and all around and it was just a wonky, weird, dizzy mess, even at 40+ fps. Heres the thing about looking around (not aiming a weapon or moving the body). Your eyes and your head work together to look around very quickly. You need only move your head 45 degrees to look 90 degrees right and left because your eyes move the remaining 45 degrees AND leave some room for a lot of peripheral view. All of the movements in the game are a compromise between looking around vs. moving around and looking vs. moving during a adrenaline fueled fire fight, but what we do most is look around. I agree though that there should be a realistic cap, but i do think that head movement should be a bit faster than body, but body turn rate should be as fast as it is when holding something.

I like that idea. Maybe they could make it so you could find a pamphlet as a loot item that was a how-to guide for a hunting rifle that explained how to use a scope's adjustments for new players. It could maybe even optionally take you to another place for target practice, alone with the rifle and some makeshift targets in the distance, of course warning you that your avatar would remain in the world unprotected if you proceeded. Thats a stretch though for the team i imagine.

The M4 sound is very bad, along with the ballistics
libertine replied to millenniumgroup@gmail.com's topic in General Discussion
I hate the sounds right now. Mosin is terrible IMO. M4 is just ok, but not loud enough in my opinion. If you've never played a game where the gun "feel" and sound awesomely real, your lucky your not spoiled that way i guess. Arma, BF and COD are NOT like that unfortunately. When you match the recoil speed and amount with a nice, decently loud gun shot sound effect, it is amazing. My crouched walk/sneak footsteps are louder than the M4, if i turned the volume up i'd be deafened by them and the sea shore sound long before the M4 sounded right. Heres what loud gun sound effect can be like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZFY4I8Vcss -
In both DayZ mod and DayZ SA, my very first characters will met in the first 10 seconds by a guy with axe, who killed me. The second time only because i could move due to not setting my keys right...

As long as there are enough servers for people to play on, this shouldn't be a big deal to anyone. The normal PVP servers can hold their WW2 reenactments on the coast, testing those areas and the immersion, zombie apocalypse guys who perhaps know [too] damn well they wouldn't wage war on their neighbors post-zombies, can roam the lands testing bugs everywhere else. I personally have been reenacting D-day, but thats just me.

There are some hackers on the "No fapping in the woods" server right now. they were teleporting everywhere and lifting me up and carrying me around. Not sure where else to report this? -
Am I naive in wanting to learn the map myself?
libertine replied to General Desire's topic in New Player Discussion
Best way to play the game IMO, at least at first until it gets old. Another map will hopefully come along and we'll be able to do it all over again. I liked following the power lines myself, but im sure there are many other thing to do to. I definitely recommend 3D Vision for exploration, its amazing to behold every pixel in the correct position on the 3rd dimension. -
Yep, this is a bit of a problem IMO.

I don't know if you noticed but its negative acceleration, the faster you move (logically, in a panic), the slower it goes, the slower you move, the faster it goes, within a range. I don't see any reason you have to end up with have to end up with BF4 rotation, you can put a cap on speed and its already much faster while holding a weapon. Eliminating the acceleration should hopefully make going through houses and looking around much more natural.

We live in a world where even in the most advanced societies, we need 1-800-SUICIDE lines for people that are so unhappy with their lives, they are ready to turn life off, forever, as far as they know. Can you imagine that, feeling that bad? On your worst day, did you did ever try and kill yourself it was so bad? Did you ever have so few hobbies or things you were interested in or things to look forward to? Unhappy people are everywhere, and here is probably one of the bigger reasons: When we humans were tadpoles, we probably had to develop some mechanism to stop being fascinated by a shiny colored rock, and thus return back to a neutral emotional state so we could continue looking out for predators. Those that couldn't stop the flow of endorphins probably sat their until they were eaten. ...The point just being to hammer home the fact that the people on the other end of those avatars you see in the game are not rich, selfish, executives trying to hunt you down, they're just people trying to have a little bit of fun in their short lives. A few are trying to escape from their short lives. Thats pretty sad to consider. Short lives? Yup. Im 35 and im amazed at how fast the weeks just fly by at this age. Its unbelievable. Your perception of time speeds up when you get older if you didn't know. I feel like im going to be 60 years old soon. I started noticing this at about 32. From this perspective, its very apparent at how short our lives are. So we have short lives and many of us sadly have emotionally neutral lives at best....and a lot of those people are playing DayZ. There are also many quad and paraplegics who game i've found out, like the one who posted a question a controller the other day on avsforum. I first began to realize how sad and sort of fragile people are when i was in my 20s, and its slowly began dawning on me over many years. Im sure there are lots of older people who play DayZ considering the average age of a gamer was 32, and that was 10 years ago. 60% of working people are supposedly not happy with their jobs if you didn't know. School being 6 hours per day, work being 8 hours or more, plus commute and your boss\es. I am a house painter. I personally have a boss who belittles me, I think so that he can make it seem like the low wages he is paying me are justified. My co-workers and I believe he lies to us about how much time he bids jobs for to get us to work harder than we already do, a common tactic in the construction industry. We frequently don't take breaks due to the pressure of trying to get the jobs done. We work hard, and i sometimes wonder if the 7 year shorter life span of men is due to the physical stress men have doing manual labor. I had severe depression when i was young and didn't have a dad who wasn't interested in talking with me. For those reasons and others, i don't live a very social life, so games for me are my go-to place to get some endorphins flowing. Yesterday, all 47 people on one sever were brought to the same point in space and then killed off. I was also killed on two other servers by hackers yesterday and two other times by game bugs. Today, a hacker tried to kill everyone on the server again using the same technique and another hacker spawned behind me to tried to kill me, and i had for the first time gotten a silenced M4 i found off a dead guy who was apparently sniping over Chernogorsk. I had just killed a bandit with the same skin running blindly out of a barn, seeking some payback maybe? But he had just killed two others i saw so thats some collateral damage in the name of "revenge". I wonder how little endorphin flow they got taking the 2 seconds to kill me, then moving on...and that vs. the dampener put over my short weekend day. I'm beginning to realize that the difference between a serial killer, racist, or an asshole and your typical "nice" person (or whatever) is the amount of time they've spent putting themselves in the shoes of others, not just day by day, but minute by minute. So please, take more than a second to think about what its like to be your victim, minute by minute, second by second, because there are real world consequences and please picture this: When I get hacked to death, i just sit back in my chair, with paint marks on my fingers and stare blankly at my window blinds in my small apartment, pretty much expressionless, wondering what people with lives are doing out there, its Sunday and i have get up at 6:15am tomorrow to go to a depressing job with a boss that gives me anxiety, and i could keep going... So please, be considerate. If you agree with the sentiment of this post, please bump it.

QUESTION: How to regenerate blood? How much Food until FULL?
libertine replied to cheRubyy's topic in New Player Discussion
I don't like this system. I was happy to *think* at first that the mod forced you into survival mode more often because i was hungry so much causing people to get into tense situation based on survival rather than simple PVP. Plenty of time for PVP and sniping with this system... -
The chance of friendlies are higher up North. Do you agree?

For some reason my rubberbanding has stopped today on the 2 servers i've gone to. I have not run super long distances though. Elektro to Cherno is all. -
While having a 3 day bout with rubberbanding as a fresh spawn I have learned what is happening on the east coast with the new spawn locations. There are tons and tons of people running down the coast to Elektro, with geared guys sniping new spawns. I too tried to run to Elektro because i couldn't stand the thought of wandering for hours in the middle or northern parts of the game. Not surprisingly Elektro is full of geared guys because that is where the action is and many people just die there and do it all over again. When up north i don't see anyone at all for hours and it just F'ing sucks. Even in Cherno i see one or two people in a few hours of looking. I like PVP, but i didn't used to KOS and had to witness a killing that wasn't self defence before i stuck myself since that is the most believable and immersive way to play for me since KOS makes no sense to me. So i really need TONS of players to make that happen semi-frequently. Now i just KOS sometimes out of shear boredom. I killed a guy as i was making my way out of elektro, he was coming in from far north and i just happening to see him while he was starting to scope out Elektro and shot him. Felt bad because he probably just walked practically aimlessly for hours to get the gear and come there. This is why i want a bandit armband, so i don't kill people just surviving and do kill those who want to PVP.

No way in hell sniper rifles were that easy to hit with in real life, no way in hell. I was down right disgusted when i picked up and used the ArmA snipers for the first time after having not used them for 90% of my play time. I don't just "play", i use. I own a semi-auto M4 and own and have owned and shot other guns. In SOME ways guns can be easier to use than in games, in others less. Snipers, less. Accuracy is one thing but sorry, but last thing this game needs is the ability to simply put your cursor over someone who just walked all the way up to the NWAF click your mouse button once to completely end that journey. As far as "play" goes, i've been playing shooters since the first Unreal Tournament and Rainbow Six, the snipers in those games and games since were accurate, but more difficult to kill with requiring more shots. The first real one shot kill snipers in multiplayer games i played appeared when BF:Bad Company 2 came out. It absolutely changed the way BF games played and not for the better in my opinion.

Please keep this game as hardcore as you can!!!
libertine replied to sav112g's topic in General Discussion
I'd like to be able to self-administer saline bags, even if it took 10 minutes. I play alone and it can be a serious pain in the ass to find someone, let alone get someone to do it. -
They were way over accurate and too easy to use in the mod. They were designed to take out loads of Ai. The hitboxes were obviously huge for players being hit by sniper rifles too. I found it incredibly easy to snipe moving targets with some quick guesstimation. Because of that, huge sections of the map were locked down by multiple snipers. The iron sights were and are always on one point, which you simple put over the target with your very precise mouse, you don't even have to align both with your target, the game does it for you. Gun has no momentum in the game either. Try looking down the sights, then hitting the free look key. Theres some momentum for you.

Thing is, for many people, PVP IS the game and there is really nothing wrong with that. I understand it too despite being a non-kos player. I very much dislike the spawns this way. I wander for hours and hours without seeing anyone in towns in the north and in the apartment areas north and north east of Cherno where there is no weapon loot. Were it up to me, i think i'd be an improvement if: 1.)The Balota loot was mostly removed or spread out in the middle parts of the map. 2. The normal spawn points were added to these, plus inland spawn point all around. Although if there were a ton of inland spawn points added, i think i'd keep Balota the way it is. 3. I'd put a barracks or two in Cherno. Cherno is one of the most interesting game cities i've ever seen and i think it deserves some attention. If you are going to have somewhat of a PVP area, i'd make it there personally. 4. More civilian weapons were found in cabins in the woods and axes, etc.

Thats reminds me, respawning after i die or go unconscious doesn't work. I get the messages in the bottom left ending with "3 2 1" and a "please wait" (if i remember right) in the center, but nothing happens for several minutes. I will happily wait longer in the future if that is the intent. -
