I dont think people here are understanding what Im getting at. Its not always non PvP servers. Just these 3 for the time being. Rather than bashing the game im offering. How about play it and see how far the rabbit hole goes... Just some friendly words of advice.

You could look into gettin an Origins server. You can build your own bases and vehicles. (Actually have to find wood, concrete, etc)

It was probably a sniper from a bandit clan that was collecting specific weapons for a group or clan. Arma 2 features a realistic sound and ballistic system. Believe it or not theres a good chance that you "Just keeled over dead" without any sound because the sniper, or yourself was located in a spot where the sound from the weapon didnt resonate. The loss of your character aside.... if that were the case... Thats one hell of a stealthy kill. On another note, I would say that a percentage of players who "fall over dead" like that probably encounter the same scenario as you possibly did. Rather than it being a hacking incident.

So, Ive heard some talk around the interwebz that drinking a Mt.Dew when youre infected has a chance of curing you. Can anyone give some insight on this?

Its not a perk. In Arma 2 some characters have bullet proof vests. The hero "perk" is a certain "heavier" class in the PMC group that has a bullet proof vest. Whilst as the survivors that you spawn as are "light" PMC units and do not have a bullet proof vest. In arma 2, All units that wear bullet proof vests actually simulate real ballistic reaction to light and medium weight kevlar. So its not a perk, Its just part of the game. The hero skin is simply a heavier equipped Arma 2 PMC unit. Where as the bandit skin doesnt have any perks because they dont have vests. You can try it out in the Arma 2 editor. Spawn any military unit that has a vest on and shoot him a few times with a few different guns. You will notice that sometimes when you shoot the vest area, A white dust sort of substence sprays out instead of blood. This means the vest was effective at stopping the bullet. A good way to tell if your vest works in game when someone shoots you is to pay attention to your screen. If it works you will notice the screen shakes, But your character wont go "UGH" and the screen wont flash. It will shake tho. I hope this was helpful.

I found a heli the other day that was completely beaten up, All I did was install the engine and the entire heli went to green! It was kinda cool actually. Granted I was a little mad that I had spent the last 2 hours looking for parts to fix it.
