lots of people already gave ideas like this but i wonna reinforce it, logging in and out could be good once all the bugs etc. have been fixed but more importantly, as a way to prevent alot of negative things (including being able to just instant click out of the game immersion) is to make a system where u must wait a while (like 20sec) to disconnect and on top of that, maybe adding this would help to; not being able to abort when ur in combat.

[GUIDE] City Sized Maps - WIP
ghostshooter replied to RSF TheCapulet's topic in New Player Discussion
these are some really great maps, but dont u think this is a little bit overkill? i mean finding all those little good spots and information on your own is pretty fun, but like someone said, if it was a ingame super rare super map, that would be a good idea. -

Naming and Shaming "Tianity" and his stream

i could see this thread having to be locked, cuz this seems like a HUGELY controversial subject but that said, noob "panic" aborting brings the RAGE out lol. and i agree, something like a 10sec wait b4 abort; or after abort, your char. is still there for 10sec should be implemented to fix this issue. -
interactive gear (such as the watch)
ghostshooter replied to ghostshooter's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
i guess this just comes down to a gameplay style preference, because to me having an actual watch (and other items) that you use has more immersion instead of something that feels like its just part of the HUD. but i do agree that something like this shouldnt take priority at all, its just something cool that i would like to see in the future. also, sorry to hear about you getting -rep, i dont mean for this, nor want it to be a controversial thread subject. ~_~ -

hi, sorry if there is already a post like this, but i didnt find any. so in short, im kinda a noob when it comes to PC hardware. what i do know though, is after looking at arma 2 requirements from what i can tell, all i need is a new CPU processor and a new video card. im also unsure if any other parts of my pc will need an upgrade to run any new hardware, such as needing a new motherboard. im also on a budget so it cant be anything too pricy, and i tried looking for stuff on newegg but i got nowhere, so maybe someone can help me out and tell me what to get? in short this is what i think i need: 1. cheap and good video card 2. cheap and good CPU processor 3. motherboard etc? i care about graphics such so if its not much more money im willing to pay for higher spec hardware, such as the recommended hardware for arma 2. also as a note, idk what specs i need to provide and i may need help finding out how to show specs. but my OS is windows XP.

interactive gear (such as the watch)
ghostshooter replied to ghostshooter's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
im at a disadvantage because i haven't played arma 2 but from watching videos i can say that from what ive seen its just a pop up display instead of lets say, a real watch on your arm. and about the map, i think it should be tweaked so that instead of crouching down, your player is holding a map in his hands. just my preference. for those who played FarCry 2 you probably know what im talking about. (ive also seen a arma mod where the character moves his wrist to his face and is looking at a watch) but i guess this game play style does have disadvantages like only being able to look at your watch and nothing else while looking at it, so i guess this would be more appealing to a role playing kind of style. mainly my concern is in first person view, from what ive seen, the animations could be better in the future. -
RUSSIANS ARE SCARY!!! lol why would someone want that stuff?

snake FTW!! lol imagine finding someone who looks just like snake crawling around a city, would be epic!

now before i start as u may already know, i havent played this mod yet so im not 100% sure so im only basing this off of what ive seen... as a suggestion for later on in the mod if its not already going to be added i would like to see more animations for specific actions. such as raising your arm to look at your watch, maybe even a real map that u hold up? at least for other players so they know your looking at a map lol. stuff like that would be cool to see later on in beta and such. (just like farcry 2 cept better, placing your gps on vehicles would be sooo cool to do lol) EDIT: read my reply post#4 describing more of what im talking about.
