actually in the ace mod, you can 'manage ammunition' which allows for a condensation of your round count. it takes a good 2-4 mins though.

also, check like hud size or something like that, set to normal or smaller

simple answer to your problem, download a lot of megs of data. first you will need the arma2 1.04 update (around 150mb) then the 1.05 update (another 205 or so) and the 1.11 update (around 205 mb) this will add the bi2 signature files to your arma 2 files so that you can join servers after that.
