BattlEye is the anti-cheat ArmA uses. I thought steam downloaded it when you ran either ArmA or OA to complete installation but can't remember tbh. You can download the file manually from http://www.battleye.com/download.html Put the BattlEye client file in your BattlEye folders C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2\BattlEye C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\BattlEye

Nope. That was back in July. The recommendation is to migrate over to private hives. With Standalone getting closer to completion the mod ticket system is being worked on less and less. Hive submissions are very slow due to limited time spent on this. Consider current hive servers a sort of gentlemen/ladies club. Some servers may be approved, but not often. This is simply due to our time is spent elsewhere atm.

You have to use IMG tags and one of the whitelisted image hosts. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/83113-forum-img-tags-how-to/

I assume so. There is nothing wrong with the BattlEye files. I haven't seen anyone else mentioning Trend though tbh.

Please report this to Avira as a false positive and put the BEClient.dll on your exception list for the time being. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/118036-battleye-update-fails-because-of-potential-malware-in-beclientdll/

I think the steam launch options only take steam commands (I may be wrong though) To be honest I am not exactly sure how to do it via steam. If you use DayZCommander you can try settings > additional launch parameters and add -port=2350 Otherwise find the ArmA2OA.exe (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead) Create a shortcut to it, then right click on the shortcut > properties and add -port=2350 to the end of the target line. Then just launch via that shortcut to play.
-
Sort of, that's what the second part I posted was about.
-
You can check your GUID's by typing '#beclient guid' in chat. That way you can rule out if they are the same. If they are the same, run each copy of the game as admin to make sure it updates in the registry to the correct one. Could also be an issue with NAT translation. You can try getting around by editing the shortcut of ArmA 2 on one of the computers and adding " -port=2350"' or any number other then the ones ArmA uses by default (2302, 2304, 2305) You could probably do it via the settings > additional launch parameters in DayZCommander too if you use that.

Rocket is a huge fan of these mods and encourages them, I very much doubt he would suddenly change his stance when the standalone comes out. If that were the case he wouldn't have turned the mod over to the community in the first place.
-
Your complaints are valid. I would like to see paid GameOps in the standalone but I think this is an unreasonable expectation for the support volunteers in the mod especially after it exploded in popularity. The system worked when the mod was relatively small but is impractical nowadays. To be clear the rules haven't been "thrown out the window" but the reality is there is very little if any support for the mod anymore. Nothing has suddenly changed, it's been this way for some time now. I'm just stating the obvious. Personally I'd rather be frank with people if there is no longer an active support team to deal with these reports and hasn't been for some time.

So rocket, a western city eh?
SmashT replied to Michaelvoodoo25's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I think any huge city (skyscrapers etc) would be far too ambitious and would mean a lot of buildings wouldn't be enterable. As much as I'd love to see it I just can't see that happening. -
Hire some WOW Gold Farmers to defend it while you sleep?
-
Well they aren't going to tell you until they know for sure because last time they planned a date and missed it, lots of people got upset with them. You're just going to have to deal with that even if you think it's unprofessional.

This is sad news.

New maps? Thirsk, Origins and Isladuala
SmashT replied to Majora017's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I've got a small summary of each here and links to their discussion threads if they have them. http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/109569-index-of-dayz-community-mapsmods/ -
What is that reason exactly? You seem to think it's pretty important. Remember DayZ has no marketing department or any kind of pre-orders available so why does it matter other then setting people up for disappointment if it misses another target?
-
They have literally just started technical testing. If it fails this testing then it's obviously going to take longer then if it passes. We all know how well it turned out last time. Why give an arbitrary release date if they aren't sure themselves and that date could come earlier or later depending on the results of those tests?

If you think using the island 12km off the shore as a base is a good idea.
SmashT replied to bobc777's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You can just switch to the back seat of a boat while holding w and it won't stop. Just don't accidentally eject. -
Hacker Prevention - A Rather Simple Solution
SmashT replied to person915's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The biggest issue is the fact that CD Keys are stored in the registry, resulting in a massive amount of key theft and cheaters not caring about being banned since they can just buy another 10 stolen keys for a few dollars. That really can't be fixed until standalone though. I like the idea of linking servers to an admin/owner and giving players a method of contacting them if need be, I'm not sure how I feel about having a report button that gets sent to admins though and I can imagine them just getting flooded with messages all the time if such a system were implemented. Forcing a server to have admins online is kind of ridiculous, as Designer said, you would pretty much have to pay them if you want that kind of service. I've seen a lot of games that have an in-game report button that gets sent to the devs or Valve, how effective those systems are though is debatable, they even say "VAC does not ban based on reports. Such data is only used for tracking and statistics purposes." so I'm not really sure what the point is. -
Submitted for server files twice and havent got a response
SmashT replied to evo_pdx's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
The hive is marked as EOL (end of life and feature locked), so it's probably a good idea to move to private hives, it also ensures the mod can continue when the global hive eventually shuts down. Easiest way would be to go with one of the popular managed server hosts but if you want do it all yourself there is a wealth of information on Tungle and OpenDayZ http://opendayz.net/ http://www.tunngle.n...perations-dayz/ -
