won't see servers, and several errors on start-up
SmashT replied to WAFFLE OF WAR's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Do you still get the issues with DayZCommander, it's a much better way to install updates/patches and launch the game as well various mods tbh. -

No idea then tbh, check your paths are correct under DayZCommander settings, if you aren't getting install buttons though it usually means either the framework isn't installed or something is blocking access (firewall etc) -

You have to enable .net framework 3.5 in Windows 8 I believe as it's disabled by default. It's in the control panel somewhere under turn windows features on/off. May require a reboot after enabling I'm not sure. -

Sounds like a firewall issue, you may need to add DayZCommander as an exception. To allow DayZCommander through your Firewall on Windows 7: 1) Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Window Firewall 2) Click "Allow a program or feature through Windows Firewall" 3) Click "Allow another program" from under the programs list 4) At the Path, click Browse and browse the DayZCommander.exe into it, and choose which kind of networking you are using to allow DayZCommander (Public, Home, or both to be sure) -

1. Run both ArmA 2 and OA once to the main menu to complete installation. 2. Download DayZCommander from http://www.dayzcommander.com 3. Run DayZCommander and click the "install/update" button from the top menu. 4. Click "Install" next to ArmA 2 (103718). Wait for the download and install to complete. 5. Click "Install" next to DayZ. Wait for the download and install to complete. 7. Filter 'DayZ only' and 'hide wrong versions' from the dropdown box on the left and join a server, if you want to play other mods/maps you will need to install them separately via the install/update menu. Do that, then post back any error messages exactly as they are written (or screenshot them) -
We need more suicide lighthouses.

As explained on the previous page, they have now decided on a specific week they want to release the game. They have not announced which week that is though.
-
Rocket didn't say, only the following (posted a little over two weeks ago): I'll ask him Edit: He said they aren't taking applications yet, I assume more details will come in time.
-
Considering private hives aren't planned initially, no. It's not really feasible on a public hive, plenty of servers do this currently in the mod though so obviously there is potential there.
-
Sigh. That's not what he said though... He actually said they have decided that they plan to release it in a specific week. They have not said which week it is, and have definitely not said that it is within a week of now.
-
They never said that though...
-
I'm curious how they are going to manage loot inflation with offline players, maybe some kind of degradation after an extended period of time so super rare items can eventually be destroyed/respawned if they haven't been used for months.

DayZ Alpha won't launch until launched !
SmashT replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Announcements & Info
Neither, they have a specific week in mind they want to release (an internal release date week basically), which week that is going to be though only they know. -

Good job, looks like a massive amount of effort went into this.

It's fake, probably malware. -
No info under "news" tab on front page

Twitter updated their API and retired the old version so anything using the old API has ceased working. The feed on DayZGame.com was also down but has since been updated. You can see the feed directly on twitter if you want, really though it's probably not the best way to stay up to date. http://twitter.com/dayzdevteam -
Well there are some servers that have increased it, probably not many though for performance and balance reasons.
-
Yes, it's locked specifically on DayZ.
-
The view distance is locked by the server at 1500 I believe. No matter what you change it to it will be locked. Do a search on DayZCommander for "view" and you might find a couple that have increased it.
-
Make sure you aren't running a beta patch above 103718 too.
-
Why not a new map for the SA instead of Arma Map....

They want to release the game this year.
