Dayz New Version 0.33 Can't Get In On Any Server
SmashT replied to SpiraxSarco's topic in New Player Discussion
Switch your game back to the stable build. You should only be on experimental if you plan on playing on the few experimental servers. Close your game. RIght click on DayZ > Properties > Betas > None - Opt out of all beta programs. -
Please try now. (Force refresh to clear cache etc if needed)
-
It's an issue with IE11. Please hold.

Please Give Server Admins/owners Back Their Sub Categories
SmashT replied to splinter2k's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
They won't be returning, we've been considering this for a fair while (well over a year now), focus has now shifted towards the standalone game, things like ban appeals and cheat reporting are probably better suited to your own websites tbh. We must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom! -
You are not allowed to password your server. Sub-private hives aren't implemented yet so all servers (other then a couple of dev-testing servers) are public. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/

Logging Out - Expermimental Branch 114782
SmashT replied to apollovulcan's topic in General Discussion
http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1whzfy/30_second_logout_timer_in_next_build_confirmed_by/cf2at0s?context=3 Rocket touched on this on Reddit (see above), personally I found the logout system in the mod incredibly frustrating when I had to leave in a hurry, I wouldn't mind a countdown if I could choose to skip it and exit immediately know my character would remain in-game until it expired.- 146 replies

Switch back to stable. Sounds like you are on the experimental version.

Being killed in the PVE server by a player
SmashT replied to peterkerr180880's topic in General Discussion
Servers are not allowed to have a no kill policy, regardless of what they are named. Wait for sub-private hives if you want that. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/158966-dayz-standalone-server-hosting-rules-server-reporting/ -
Being killed in the PVE server by a player
SmashT replied to peterkerr180880's topic in General Discussion
PVE servers are not allowed, the admin can't do anything about it. -
Work on queued login has begun and should be implemented soon. This allows for penalties in certain situations, in the form of a timeout. Which means their character will stay in the server they logged out from, until their timeout has expired. It's the devs solution to both combat logging and server hopping. Default time is 30 seconds + plus any penalty applied to combat logging. So that means, as a minimum, their character will still be present for at least 30 seconds. During this time you can loot, kill, anything, to that player and the results will be saved.

It'd be ludicrous to think there WONT be a functioning train

Runs off Rockets? -
It will be fixed in the next patch.

Is kicking players instantly from servers allowed?
SmashT replied to duulis's topic in Server Advertisement
Get Hicks or another dev to publicly clarify the matter and I will. I've had success reporting servers in the past that kick everyone to circumvent the no locking rule and I know Hicks has personally shut some down so it must depend on who you get or how you word the email, I always put emphasis on circumventing no locking rule rather than kicking. A server was doing this the other day and I got the following responses from Vilayer. -

Indeed. Stop cheating. OP also has 3 VAC ban(s) on record, I'm seeing a recurring theme here. Please refrain from bothering BattlEye. They won't help in this case and all your excuses are long time known.
-
Bans do not carry over from ArmA 2. Bans do carry over from ArmA 3. Players that are banned are not banned from the game, they are banned from BattlEye enabled servers. It's the same as Source and Gold Source games where all VAC bans carry over between them.
-
They can play on servers without BattlEye with all the other cheaters. There is no single player?
-
Nope. ArmA 2 uses a different non Steam dependent system to determine the GUID. ArmA 3 and DayZ the GUID uses the Steam Profile ID.
