Most likely you closed the game when stuck on a loading screen, when you are loading the game places you into debug forest, then moves you to your location when you finish loading, I am only guessing here but it's probably done so you dont get killed by players/zombies before you even finish loading into the game. If you abort/escape/close the game when you are stuck on loading the hive will think you are in debug forest still so the next time you get in a server it will spawn you back at the coast. A temporary fix, if you know of a server that you have no problems joining is to alt tab when stuck on the loading screen, launch another copy of the game, it will ask you if you want to close the original, click no, once you are in-game where you were supposed to spawn, alt tab to the game stuck on loading screen and close it either by alt f4ing or cntrl alt deleting and ending the arma process with the lower memory usage. Once most servers and sixlauncher update to the latest version it should occur a lot less as the main reason people get stuck on the loading screen is because they tried to join a server on a mismatching version to their own.

You can always swim? Losing gear in water is a server side setting but from experience most servers have it disabled, go in the water near the shore and test it, if you start losing items you can always pick them back up again.

I spent 10 minutes once before giving up, probably should have persisted, I have seen the video but thought it might be dependent on what the terrain was like around it.

You can only ban him from your own server, you can't globally ban him for obvious reasons. The atv is the most fun vehicle to drive but you are guaranteed to flip it at some point and you will need to wait for a server restart for it to unflip.

You are most likely joining servers running a different version to you. If you are using SixLauncher you are on 1.7.2.4, more and more servers are updating to 1.7.2.5 I recommend you use DayZCommander instead (http://www.dayzcommander.com/) You can update to 1.7.2.5 via the versions button on DayZCommander, or you can do it manually by downloading the 1.7.2.5 files from one of the mirrors on the home page (http://dayzmod.com/?Download) and putting them in your dayz/addons directory, in my case: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ\addons If you open SixLauncher these files will be overwritten with 1.7.2.4 again.

The only boat worth having is the PBX which spawns far up North East of the map in that inlet, the others are so slow it's quicker to walk.

Yeh I'm not sure if I am convinced it's a good system. On top of the points already mentioned it also defeats the purpose of a rangefinder, you simply mark your target on the map and get the distance that way.

I may be wrong but check the second line in your remoteexec.txt, it should be marked with a 4 to auto kick. You are mistaking L85A2 AWS with AS50 TWS I'm not a fan of the L85A2 AWS, awesome scope but terrible gun otherwise. -

I didn't read the entire original post, duping/spawning weapons using cheats can hopefully be sorted with standalone though and I assume everything will be wiped either at this time, beta and definitely before release. Once that is fixed, weapon degradation over time seems like a simple solution to combat gun inflation. Rocket has already talked about this being implemented. -
Hence why I wrote "may" incase he was referring to SD mags being used in it at the time.

How long does loot take to respawn?

I think it's 10 minutes if you take every piece of loot from the spawn, including tin cans.
