20 Second cool down time in order to log off server.
SmashT replied to knawx's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Your suggestion is already planned to being implemented. -
Names are meaningless, any number of people can use the same name, just change it on the main menu.
-
Admins can't do that, it was either a hacker or a bug, it happens.
-
A hacker teleported to you, hilarious that you killed him, I'm surprised he didn't turn you into a dog/chicken/goat/sheep/bird as punishment.
-
Download the files from one the the mirrors on the DayZ homepage. Put them in your Dayz/addons directory, in my case: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ\addons
-
Open dayz_code.pbo with notepad. Virgin Slayer - Kill 10 generation 1 survivors Devil Incarnate - Kill 50 survivors The Hunter - Gut 10 animals Everybody's Hero - Kill a zombie attacking an unconscious person Sharpshooter - Get 10 headshots in a row Well Travelled - Visit every town on the island
-
Nope, Rocket said it would be resolved in standalone though.
-
The day they implement this is the day I stop playing DayZ

SESUK1 Admin hackers and random ban.
SmashT replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Admins can't globally ban players They also can't unban globally banned players So the admin accidentally banned himself from his own server and then unbanned himself when he realised. I have no idea how you came to the conclusion they were teleporting though. -
Should have role played as Kevin Costner, Nothing's free in waterworld

is it worth buying arma 2 combined operations now
SmashT replied to iReJambo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Going to say no because I don't want to see another thread from someone complaining they wasted their money on DayZ even though it's free and demanding bugs/problems/cheating to be fixed instantly even though they know its a alpha mod on an engine not designed for a game even remotely like this. -
Regardless of the video (I didn't watch it) it's well known there are cheats to do this in DayZ already, it's nothing new and cannot be addresed until standalone, you can either continue testing the alpha knowing you are likely to run in to these cheaters or stop playing until the full standalone version is released.

Hackers in DayZ? No way! Get this to the devs immediately.
-
Post your specs, sounds unusual
-
- Go into your steam library, right click Arma 2 go to properties, Local Files, Verify Integrity, wait till it completes. - Do the same thing for Operation Arrowhead - Launch both games again like you did when you first installed to the main menu screen then you can exit - Right click OA again and launch combined operations.
-
You will not be globally banned by BattlEye for using it, many admins will and do kick/ban players for using it on their own servers, whether they are allowed to or not, personally I'd put it on a zombie corpse and then bury it to remove it from the game.
-
Also uninstall sixlauncher if you are using that and download DayZCommander.
-
Here is my suggestion: Seriously though, I have no idea, try changing servers again, if that fails wait for someone to kill you or die of starvation, if you know any admins, you could try joining their server and getting them to restart it.

Can you take tents to different servers?
SmashT replied to TacticalN29's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Yes you can, it's a good idea to spread your tents across multiple servers, I learnt my lesson when I had a weeks worth of gear and multiple tents on a single server that simply shutdown and never returned. A word of warning, there is a bug in 1.7.2.5 that causes any items you save in your tents to not save/dissapear when the server restarts. -
What to expect in Day Z, for players new and old
SmashT replied to Icus's topic in New Player Discussion
Realise this is not a fully fledged game, it is an alpha build of a mod, that despite having over a million players has only been in development for a few months, it had no funding and was almost entirely coded by a single person on an engine that was never designed for a game like this, there are lots of bugs, exploits and cheaters, many of which can not fixed at all while it remains a mod, despite this DayZ is still incredibly fun, take it for what it is and you will enjoy it. Expect to die a lot, the game has a steep learning curve at the beginning but is very rewarding once you figure it out. -
Nobody created hacks for ArmA because nobody played ArmA. It was reported back in May that ArmA has had a 500% increase in sales since the introduction of DayZ, there were 100k DayZ players at that time, it just cracked a million.
-
Dogs will be coming in the next update v1.7.3, any dogs you see now are done by hackers, either turning themselves or random players into them. They are playing/showing off the next update at GamesCom currently, so it can't be far away.
-
That's the bandit skin, you get it when your humanity is low (below 0 I think), when your humanity is high (5k) you get a hero skin.
-
Try the guys wearing hero skins, you might have better luck.

Quick Question About Camps
SmashT replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Popular camp sites include Black Forest and anywhere up North or West from the start of the forest to the black map border. They are "good" locations in the sense that they are so far away from anything that players are unlikely to go there, this also means that the players who do go there, usually do it specifically to look for tents/vehicles, sometimes some of the most obvious locations are the best spots to hide tents and vehicles.
