You can filter unofficial/private servers in DayZCommander, they are also indicated by a cloud icon with an x in them. The vast majority of servers are running private hives now.

You're right, it was a terrible policy but since the server files have since been released to everyone it's no longer an issue. DZC waiting to release a version that majority of the servers (125+) aren't using would also be a bad decision. It would be incredibly confusing for the end user.

You have your "admin map" in a public web directory, anybody who knows the URL (which has already been posted publicly so it's out) can see all live players locations, their inventory, vehicle locations etc. I don't know if this is your host or your admins but it's terrible security. -

I like having helicopters in the game and don't agree they should be removed, I do agree there are some balance issues (specifically with being able to find camps/vehicles/crash sites too easily) but think these issues can be sorted out without removing or nerfing the helicopters. 1. Camo netting for vehicles. 2. Chopper Crash sites spawning randomly, not just on server restarts.

DayZ Standalone Server Hosting Ideas

This post reeks of bias to be honest, sounds like you have some kind of relationship with HFB and Vilayer and want them to control a monopoly on standalone servers. Obviously the devs are going to have to work with some hosts in order to have enough servers provided at launch, that doesn't mean they should limit hosting for the first month to only these providers though. -

Whitelisted Servers- What do you think? -Pros & Cons

You will most likely see less hackers (It's just an extra step which makes other non-whitelisted servers easier targets) It may take time to build up a white-listed population. I don't really understand the safe and boring comment, there are servers with 5k+ whitelisted players :/ -
Run steam as admin and launch OA, that should update the cd key in the registry to the one on that steam account.

It was removed because the thermal was overpowered, especially when combined with sniper rifles, replacing it with a thermal rangefinder would be ridiculous.

This thread is stupid. Admins can't teleport, use godmode or global ban players. You encountered hackers and haven't posted anything to suggest they are the server admins. Locked.

Just walking around with it in their hands. I had a hacker kill me with one months ago, I assumed most servers would be auto-kicking/banning for it now though.
