Private servers/hives can choose to implement a whitelist on their servers, anyone that isn't on their whitelist will be kicked. Most will require you to signup to their forums/website etc and apply to be added to their whitelist. This helps prevent cheaters joining. -
Get both, if you have to choose one or the other though I would wait.

This is a known bug, it's a limitation of the ArmA engine so most likely won't be fixed until standalone.

The devs have done a decent job of managing peoples expectations IMO, problem is a lot of people don't follow the devs/forums/blogs etc I'm waiting for "It's a alpha foundation release"

Can't you empty bullets from one magazine and load them into another in real life?

It's a shared banlist that many servers use. Admins could submit bans to it with evidence of cheating (logs) and that player would be banned on all servers using it. it hasn't been updated in months though and is no longer maintained. http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/

This will be fixed in the standalone I believe, it's an ArmA engine limitation. I'm certain I have read Rocket talk about it before.

Private Military Company - HQ survivor and hero skin. British Armed Forces - HQ ghillie suit and camo clothing aswell as some higher quality crosshairs on AS50/L85. While they look better the ghillie suit can put you at a disadvantage as the HQ textures make enemy players harder to see.
