Finally got the right computer... Should I wait?
SmashT replied to Papi (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'd wait, at least until an announcement is made. -
Are some server admins getting just as bad as Scriptors?
SmashT replied to Sgt. Vanluven's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I haven't really seen many games come up with an effective solution other then managing all the servers themselves. -
Are some server admins getting just as bad as Scriptors?
SmashT replied to Sgt. Vanluven's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
While it's true some admins do, I see a lot of players assuming this is the case even when it's not. If you have reason to believe an admin is abusing their powers, play elsewhere but really an admin having a coyote backpack a few minutes after dying could easily be explained by a tent. Most of your complaints are only possible on private hives (database access) by the way. I don't know how the standalone is going to do things but if the hive is controlled by the devs then most of those won't be possible however no matter what limited control you allow server admins over their server, it will always be open to abuse, kicking/Banning at the most basic for example. -

New Server Signup and Ticket System
SmashT replied to shawnbayer75's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
My understanding is there is no longer an active technical or support team for the mod and the recommendation is to migrate over to private hives. With Standalone getting closer to completion the mod ticket system is being worked on less and less. Hive submissions are very slow due to limited time spent on this. -
Global Ban #d2ae76 - Kid_Bear
SmashT replied to Ninjabear2011's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Read the stickies, we don't deal with global bans, you have been banned by BattlEye. http://www.battleye.com/support.html Sounds legit.- 1 reply

I learned the hard way that "drop down ladder" doesn't actually do this :(

You can bring down a building with smoke grenades.

This is why you shouldn't hack (A look into key stealers)

Topic unlocked, some posts removed. A reminder, we won't tolerate the promotion or discussion of illegal activities or the influence of others to commit illegal acts on these forums, doing so will result in warnings being handed out. -
Pretty sure they were actually planned in the mod a while back but there was some issue with them so I expect to see them in standalone.
-
Then it's an automated admin ban either way the server admin would need to unban you... Maybe make a new thread or edit this one with the server details/ban message etc otherwise the likelihood of the admin stumbling upon this thread and realising you are even from his server are nil, even if it's a false positive.
-
I just highlighted Orloks post and that doesn't say global ban, it says admin ban. :/ The server admin would need to unban you but since you haven't provided the server details the chance of them seeing this report are pretty slim. If it's an admin ban then you can play elsewhere in the meantime. However if it's a global ban "BattlEye Global Ban #ID" you won't be able to play anywhere and would need to contact BattlEye.
-
http://www.battleye.com/support.html So it's a global ban?
-
No we aren't. Either it was an admin ban and that server admin will need to unban you (in which case the server details in the thread title might help) or it's a global BattlEye ban and you need to contact BattlEye.

I thought we were supposed to keep that to ourselves as Rocket hasn't broken the news to Matt yet :(

Depends if you are sick or just cold.
-
Once you get sick, you need antibiotics, founds in hospitals but are rare.

What should I look for in a home server candidate?
SmashT replied to tatortodd22's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Private with a white-list for starters. -
Can't you connect your controller to your PC and then your mic to your controller and use it that way? Google says it only works with wired controllers.

See page 16.

What's the monitor?

Interface/3D Resolution set to the same thing?

The CD Key is kept in the registry so anyone that gains access to your PC can steal it, usually by malware (pretending to be something legitimate) being downloaded that grabs it from the registry and send it to someone.
-
Didn't see that, sounds like your CD Key got stolen. Ultimately you are responsible for keeping it secure.

Aside from Chernarus, Taviana and Namalsk are probably the two most popular currently.
