Correct Mounting of Suppressor East on AK Variant Rifles
rybec replied to erock482's topic in Suggestions
For those who didn't see it in the other thread and aren't sure what he means... -
I'm all for Shadowplay as well. I only started using it this month and it's pretty cool. I set it to 15min and just forget about it. Oh, something neat happened? Let's press the button to save everything that happened in the last 15 minutes, and not worry about my other hard drive filling up.

Keep in mind, we're talking about fragmentation grenades. Most of the hurt caused by the grenade is the pieces of metal being sent through the air. It's not the explosion part that'll kill you. Come to think of it the fragmentation grenades in here cause an explosion like you set off some high explosive.

Sorry bud, I might try being humorous in the future.

First response is a dick joke. Man, we're on a roll with suggestions. Last time someone suggested we can have custom designs on weapons someone said they'd put penises everywhere. Next thing you know we'll be able to flip people off in the game, but that'll never ha- oh.

The law is also so vague that it only says the ammunition has to be stored separate from the firearm. In a magazine beside the gun could or could not count.

Hardcore mode suggestions should be separated from the standard
rybec replied to E.J.'s topic in Suggestions
I agree. I would enjoy an ACRE-like system wit my friends ingame, but restricting communication out of the game would be a step too far. -
Now, when enforcing things that are more related to "Muh feelings" there is no equal treatment to enforcing this. Anyone can deny it all they want, as a white male I guarantee you if I said something intentionally offensive it would have me struck down before I could take another breath. Coming from most other than a white male and you have quite a bit of leeway. That said, it's quite a controversial topic, but in the end how do you think you'll enforce it since you say you'll be running your own server? What deity powers do you think you'll get as an admin that will let you see who said what?

Once Vehicles become persistent.. a discussion
rybec replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
When I'd play in a group of six or so in the mod we'd either have no helicopter or all of them. When you have one vehicle, it's extremely easy to have a monopoly once you get the mobility of one. -
Easiest way to get a SKS and PU Scope? where to go?
rybec replied to john5220's topic in General Discussion
I really miss how you're experiencing the game. Eventually you learn places you need to go and places you should avoid, removing the sense of adventure. -
By Battle net I hope you mean Battleye. If you can give a screenshot or more information you might be able to get some help in the troubleshooting section.

Found out why suppressors might not work perfectly.
rybec replied to rybec's topic in General Discussion
Whether it's constructive or not, criticism helps things get fixed. I made the thread with the intention of getting a few hearty chuckles and bringing it to attention. It's great that the team got ass in gear and made a big step by releasing the vehicles and getting persistence closer to being functional. That's a welcomed continuation of how the game is progressing. Some of you guys need to set your expectations a little higher, an example praising Dean for starting then dumping the project instead of showing disappointment for not at the very least seeing it through to the beta phase. -

Regardless of what you're replying to or with, I'm happy you show you're actively reading what is being talked about in the forums. -

So the lead of the project can take off and leave it unfinished? -
When the mod came out and nobody knew anything about it I remember it was absolutely horrifying to be shot at. You felt so lucky to find something neat and wanted to hold onto it as best as you could. My heartrate would skyrocket. Now I've really gotten used to it. There's so many guides and the meta way to do things I don't get that feel anymore. I wish I did.

Glad we're on the same page.

Oh of course. Laying on your side to shoot isn't something I'd expect to see. Asking for a manually adjustable stance like it were a certain Tom Clancy game where you hold the stance button and move your mouse up and down/left and right to control exactly how much you want to expose would be asking a little much from DayZ. What I'm getting at is the common "W-w-we're n-not military guys. We're un-t-t-trained civilians ingame. We shouldn't know how to do X!" explanation is a horrible response people throw around here when a lot of the topics in question would be quite straightforward.
-
A person isn't locked into picking one of these stances for out of game. You do what's comfortable and efficient. Give a person who hasn't handled a rifle before a wall at chest height and the person will probably lay the back of their support hand or the rifle itself on the wall to help shoot. You don't have to be in the military to know how to stand (apart from that girl lean-back). A new civilian shooter would more likely hug as close to something solid as possible over an infantryman utilizing his training. A guy being shot at doesn't have to have had training to want to be as safe as possible while shooting.
-
I am 100% for an SVT40 being added to the game. Another rifle to share x54. Fits the location well anyway.
-
You're from Edmonton, I'd take you shooting for fun (and free) but you tried to shame me for owning rifles. It doesn't matter if it would make gameplay easier for shooting after running distances. Propping your weapon against or on something to steady your aim is a real and smart thing you can do. Let's start taking out anything in the game that we can do out of the game because it makes it too easy to do whatever while playing.
-
You have an issue with how people actually use rifles? Goddamn man, I really cannot see how you can oppose weapon resting.

Need that Hilux.
