We all know that Chernarus is not Russia, but at the same time has a fairly heavy influence of Russian and Czech in its design. Sitting around the fire my friends had made we quickly found a lack of a certain Russian idle feature. Squatting. The immersion would be unparalleled.

Either way, firearms in museums are typically (sadly) deactivated so you'd have an awkward club to run around with. Here's a double barrel FAL in an exhibit.

I like it. Similar to how the flies were in the mod, I'd like it if crows loosely circled corpses too.
-
Time to dig a spider hole then.

There is a visible difference between shouldered and aiming though, being the aimed version is the rifle raised slightly higher for a cheek weld with the head tilted. Would this replace a rifle when you have it lowered but shouldered or would it replace our current shouldered and ready to fire without aiming?

Maybe some would have netting on them? Could play around with the burlap sacks and grass/foliage idea more.

I wish this wasn't a thing. Making a game with some fancy "new" engine, and supposedly swapping it out to this newer engine should not have any instances with "oh, we can't do that in our engine because reasons".

A lot of shooting deaths have the person just laying there as the body shuts down. Death isn't super quick unless you lose your heart or head. I'd support a "dying" character being able to slowly look around a bit. Don't want him to look around? Pop him again.

Might have something to do with mosquitoes being all over urban areas while bears shy away from the same places. That and mosquitoes+Africa. But there's some pretty big critters that walk around. Found a whole bunch of these the last time I went out shooting. My boots are size 13. I'm sure that far out in the woods wolves and cougars would be a little more curious of me than animals who see people once in a while. Yogi would still be sleeping.

German military vehicle: LGS Fennek. An Easy addition to SA

I'm genuinely interested in seeing what you have to say about what I typed. You could tell me I'm not wrong at all if you like. -
There is a single issue with allowing people to turn down detail of terrain: Making it easier to spot someone. Really, having smooth frames is essential but nobody will play with the settings turned up if your choices are A ) Don't see the guy laying prone over on hill X because of the terrain. B ) See the guy laying down on the flat green hill as though there's no plant life on the hill at all. It's just like how you can change your gamma and brightness to see in the night (for obvious reasons you should be able to) but nobody would play at night without cranking those settings up to get an advantage over others.

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
rybec replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
If we go to the front page on the site we see "SURVIVORS: 2 936 626". Now, let's be clear that I completely understand that we don't currently have three million people playing, that'd just be three million people who have played. Let's be extreme and say only 20% of those people are still playing. We're now at 587,325 people. Out of five hundred thousand people we would see a maximum of two thousand of those people with the SVD with its spawn rate exhausted. I'm all for making very effective weaponry uncommon, but out of 587,324 other people out there for me to see I have so tiny of a chance of seeing one of those rifles I may as well pretend they don't exist. Remember, that is assuming there's only 20% of that original number still playing. -

That's a shame, sounds like what a quitter would say. -

Let me pick you apart a little. -
What gun was your first shooting kill with?
rybec replied to Heatofbattle's topic in General Discussion
Mod was an AKM in Stary Sobor, I just can't remember what it was in the standalone. Maybe it's not as memorable because when I killed the guy in the mod sidechat was filled with him saying "CYKA CYKA CYKA CYKA CYKA". -
The golden number is three people in total. Doesn't matter your loadout. If something happens to one, there's two to deal with the issue. More people is more of a liability because they're not likely to have synergy of a smaller group. Spending most of my time as a fireteam leader when playing in organized Arma matches reinforces how I feel about it. Communication is more important than numbers.

Hardcore mode suggestions should be separated from the standard

That would work if maybe you everyone had 148 Radios with 99 channels like in ACRE. I'm saying that making DayZ work as a group game with no teamspeak when I have buddies that aren't playing in the same room of my home as me would be impossible. -

It's less of enhancing fun, more of making games playable. Playing with my friends from Arkensas, Florida, Utah, California, Japan, how am I supposed to make that all work with text? -

I believe you're overthinking this by claiming Teamspeak is a tool for cheaters. -
If he's suggesting it be a copy of how ACRE's function is, it's decreasing the distance or increasing the distance you can be heard at. Say I'm in a line formation and I only want the guys adjacent to me hearing I'd move the slider to the lower end. Without this, you'd still be audible at the standard distance ingame, just as a whisper instead of being audible only at the distance you want to be with your whisper. Really though, I have zero use for this outside of organized Arma missions. The only time I ever talk to people in DayZ is to tell an unarmed guy to run off or to mock someone I'm about to kill that I don't like. Teamspeak solves issues playing with friends.

Gives a reward to the players who put an effort into getting one running. They have to stop eventually. -

You say it like vehicles are an unbeatable opponent. Only if there's a significant number of people riding would it be a problem. Usually you'd see two or more people riding in one I'm sure. Forget fighting them, they'll eventually bail out of it. Any time they bail to refuel or whatever and you pop the guy, what's the driver going to do? Guarantee he'll be smart and take off, but then you're uncontested for his buddy's body or take it for yourself if he's alone. -
Right. I could've sworn at the very least in Arma 2 and such if you held the mouse button in it would stop the rifle from cycling the bolt.

I'm extremely surprised that since it allows for any image and name people hadn't flocked to the thread saying "Oh, you can't have anything customizable because people will do Nazi things or draw dicks on it!". I fail to see how it's different. Maybe because it's harder to do. Here's what my friends and I roll around with. I'd be fine with running around with a Rhodie flag.
