But that's wrong. The only time the playing field is level is when you've both seen each other and are sitting behind whatever cover you have watching for the other to eventually move because you're both 100% immune to getting shot by the other while having 100% vision. I agree the person who has the element of surprise has the advantage, but if you see me I should have the capability to see you. Even if it's extremely unlikely I could pick you out from your concealment you still have the tradeoff. To see me you should run the risk of being seen by me. If I get shot because you've been watching me and I wasn't paying enough attention to locate you that's all my fault. If you've been watching me from a rooftop or behind a tree with your head not exposed and there's no visual indication you're watching me even if I'm looking right at your spot you can't honestly say that's fair.

The only one you could call silly is the one where you spread your legs like the popular girl in highschool. Everything else is there for your character to look just over an object. Even the tight crouch is reasonable.
-
What was your stance hah on bringing Arma3 stances to DayZ again? You have enough sense to think some untrained man would try to keep as little of himself exposed in a shootout as possible right? We're excluding literally every fighter from Syria and surrounding countries though.

I hope you like to read if you go there. Because that's mostly the only loot.

Marshmallows? Camping? Sounds like fun.

Guns you can't wait to see in DayZ?

Something I actually expect to see? SVT40. -
Hardly, if anything you saved them time by being able to look at what you grabbed for them. No reason not to kill everyone you see unless you want to try playing like a normal person would act.
-
I like the idea of expanding on radios and communicating with people you aren't in direct contact with. It'd be fun to drive around and hear a small network of people yaking on the radio.
-
I think an immunity is a little much.
-
Didn't really look all that different, maybe you have to feel the time it takes between the input from M+K to the movement ingame. But oh my god the time it takes to stick your eye to the sights is disgusting.
-
What's the problem with using regular running for standard movement? Can't run to tent city in NWAF from Berezino fast enough then? We put too much of an emphasis on crosscountry running when we play, I bet you do because I do too.

The Community's List of Suggested Weapons for Dayz Standalone (Version: 1.29)
rybec replied to alexeistukov's topic in Suggestions
7.62x39 is extremely common. -
I didn't talk about PVP at all. What we're doing ingame is the "holy fuck I need to hustle as fast as possible" run, while the standard run isn't used by anyone. Please don't say the map is too big and empty either. Getting rid of more forest to add in some more towns nobody cares about was an awful decision. Player contact should be an uncommon (don't read that as rare) occurance, as in you get excited you met another person. Saying the map is too big, let's cut the map to a quarter of the size so we should see another person every five minutes on a full server.
-
It really is not. The run speed is spot on, but NOBODY runs in this game. There is NO reason to NOT double tap W currently. Sprinting should stay fast, but make us have to reserve it for when we really need it, not use it for standard movement.
-
Or at least have you slowed to a steady walk while holding your pack with one hand and grabbing things inside with the other.
-
My first experience with the standalone was running into the house with some random guy and chatting, then a guy with a baseball bat stood at the exit. We started fighting with our fists and I landed a couple hits on the guy before I was killed. I'll never know if my temporary friend won or lost the fight.

I like the utility of the axe for splints and kindling/firewood. I guess with the introduction of the hatchet, I don't need the fireaxe anymore. I haven't tested whether the little hatchet can cut down a 2'diameter tree ingame yet though.

They are boxes of paper bundles.
-
America what? I'm just a middle class Canadian citizen who likes shooting and has not been in the military. I must be a real genius if I know to expose as little of my body to being shot as possible while nobody else who isn't in the military understands.
-
They're Russian. MFS.

Pull the pin on a grenade and stick it underneath a smersh vest ontop of the spoon.

Not quite, buddy. Here's the internal magazine, all the mosin has is the floorplate with the spring as the follower pushing the cartridges up. Here's the floor plate clipped in place and I'm using a stripper clip to load them. There's a little slot in the top to fit the clip in, you pull the clip out after you've pushed the cartridges off it into the rifle.
-
Come on, knucklehead. It doesn't take a trianed man to want to peek out only enough to be able to shoot while exposing yourself as little as possible.
-
What you just suggested is people playing alone for extended periods of time would die. People who have no friends at all (I pity you, it's not hard) would find it entirely impossible to play their way.

Was probably me and it was this video if it was me. I've played on first person servers almost every time I've played DayZ. After getting into RHS wasteland I got reminded of how awful Arma gameplay is with 3rd person when 100% of the firefights were myself and my friends sat behind our trees/buildings while our opponents sat behind their trees/buildings until the first guy left his cover and got lit up. Would I play 3rd person Arma and DayZ if a fix was made for peeking around corners? Hell yeah. Until then I only play when everyone's on a level field. Characters disappearing when not in your view like in the video would be the best option for a fix.
